We are excited to release TWO new features to 8-BIT fans out there. REPLAYS AND OBSERVER MODE.
Replays allow you to look through past matches that are stored on our server and get an eye on everything that happened across the battlefield. Just find the game you want, click and enjoy the show.
Observer mode lets you join a game that is about ready to start or one that is already in progress and watch the battle unfold in real time. It's incredibly fun to scroll around and see what each player is doing as they do it!
We also want to announce the release of our 8-BIT ARMIES: ARENA multiplayer game and the corresponding Trial/Free to Play version. This makes it VERY inexpensive to access all six factions in multliplayer. For those that just want to try it out or are fine with playing a pre-determined faction each day - it's free!
Thanks for your continued support and enjoy all the new stuff!

We're kicking off our promise of a great February with free Metaverse Mode for all 8-Bit Armies Players! Check it out and let us know what you think. ːsteamhappyː
We had a couple other fixes go in that have been in there quite a while and finally popped on our radar.
Enjoy, and thanks for coming along with us for the ride.

NEW FEATURES:
New Multiverse (Metagame) mode accessible from the main menu.
MAINTENANCE UPDATES:
Some Co-Op games were not being listed correctly making it harder to find a team member - games should now show up.
Selecting a random AI faction in an online game always resulted in the Renegades faction being selected. Now, any of the 6 factions from all titles will be selected for the AI (even if you only have one of the games)

We have so much going on for this month that the team decided to tell you in advance all that we have planned. Check out all this cool stuff...
REPLAYS AND OBSERVER MODE ARE COMING
Since the release of 8-Bit Invaders, we have been working toward improving our 8-Bit series with new features you have been asking for. Game Replays and Observer Mode have been on the backburner for some time now as we tried to find time to break away from creating more content to make Multiplayer even better. Now, we’re happy to say that both of these new features are being released soon in the month of February!
Observer Mode will let you view games in progress as well as follow along with games as they begin. All PvP games played online through our servers will have a replay generated so you can go back and watch the game you just played, or see how the top players were able to strike that crushing blow. You’ll need the client to watch a Replay, but Observer mode is perfect for streaming Live if you’re looking to broadcast or narrate a game.
NOW EVERYONE CAN CONQUER THE METAVERSE
We will be updating both 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes to support our Metaverse Campaign, so you can fight against the AI at both the galactic and the tactical levels. As with our other feature updates, this is a completely free upgrade for all our current and future owners of the game. We’ll be patching this into both games in February.
8-BIT ARMIES: ARENA SPIN-OFF TITLE TO REACH MORE ONLINE PLAYERS
As you may already know, we’re launching a Multiplayer-Only title based on the series which contains all six factions in PvP mode. Our goal with this budget-priced title is to bring more people into the Multiplayer lobbies that aren’t as focused on the single player campaigns or skirmish modes. More people playing online means more people to team up with and compete against! In addition to adding Observer and Replay Modes (which will also be included in Arena), we expect this to give our online community a big boost. And for those of you that are looking to play with a friend at home or at school, we’re even including LAN support!
FREE VERSION OF 8-BIT ARENA WITH UNLIMITED MULTIPLAYER
Finally, we will be making a version of the game available that offers free, unlimited multiplayer PvP with a single new faction each day. This version will have a limited soundtrack, and limited maps to host – but players can join anyone else’s game that has the full version and play on any of the maps they have access to (including custom maps). Again, this speaks to our desire to get people in and play online so that our multiplayer community of players can always find someone to jump into a game with.
With MetaVerse Modes, Replays, Observer Mode, a lower-cost alternative for PvP players and a completely free option – we are still working hard to show that the 8-Bit Series is very important to us as are YOU! We hope you enjoy all the stuff we’ll be releasing in February!

Hi everyone! Just a quick maintenance update to bring 8-Bit Armies into alignment with the new internal changes found in 8-Bit Invaders.
What's most important about this update is that we are enabling functionality for Replays behind the scenes. In fact, starting with this build your game will begin generating replays while we continue to work on the User Interface for all 3 games.
While you won't be able to view them yet, we can say that our internal testers say the Replay System is working great. We hope to release this new feature to everyone in just a few weeks.
Thanks for your continued support!

GENERAL UPDATES:
Maintenance patch to keep in sync with other 8-Bit Titles
Back-end and Client Update to save Replays to Server for later viewing.

GENERAL UPDATES:
Invaders Co-Op promotional event ends today. Congratulations to the thousands of players that received a free copy of 8-Bit Hordes!
Map/Mission names on the loading screen are now localized into their respective langauges rather than displayed as English text baked into the image. (note to self: never do that again.)
BALANCE:
Treant (Lightbringers, Hordes): Main weapon changed from a position target (artillery-like) to a direct-fire weapon. This means it is no longer possible to dodge the shots. Weapon cooldown reduced to 2.2 seconds (was 3.2). Base damage and AoE damage have been split out. The target will now take 20 damage (was 22), Enemies in the AoE radius will take 10 (was 22)., AoE radius reduced to 50 (was 60), Weapon damage type changed to Piercing (was Heavy).
Xenodog (Cranioids, Invaders): Build cost increased to 80 (was 70), Build time increased to 8 seconds (was 5), Duration of Acid Pool reduced to 5 seconds (was 6).
