Updated Timeline
We’ve made great progress on everything we’re working on, and we wanted to give you an update on the timeline we published in July’s Monthly Update.

As promised, we want to stay fully transparent while also giving you ETA’s that are as accurate as possible. Delaying Wolcen: Arise allowed us to polish the Summons’ Revamp and ship a version we are proud of, especially after seeing you all having fun with them and reading your feedback. But this delay also means our entire production cycle got pushed back a month, and if we want to achieve what we had in mind for our next content patch, we have to take this into account. Here is the updated timeline:

Our next content patch, Wolcen 1.1.5.0 - Late November/early December
  • New end-game activities including new mission types and rewards system,
  • New monsters,
  • New environments,
  • New skills’ damage type variations,
  • New Cosmetic Armor.
We want to make sure the new end-game activities we are working on are both fun and worth playing. This means a lot of testing, tweaking, and back and forth between our teams to make sure we can ship the best version possible.

While we would love to ship as many new end game activities as possible with Patch 1.1.5.0, we think it will be safer, and better, in the long run, to ship some of these new activities first, in order to gather feedback and make sure we can use it to improve the next ones.

Here is a sneak peek at the new end game activities UI:

Wolcen 1.1.6.0 - February/March 2022
  • Controller Support;
  • New environments;
  • New monsters;
  • New damage type variations for some skills;
  • New armor.
We gave more details on Controller Support in September’s Monthly Update, if you missed it and want to know more, please check it out!

Patch 1.1.6.0 is also our current target for the Unique item improvements (more detail in September’s Monthly Update as well). If they are ready we’ll ship them with the patch, but if not we’ll move them to the next one. Whatever we choose to do, we’ll let you know as usual during our Monthly Updates.

We endeavor to bring value and diversity to a different aspect of the game with each Content Patch. In that regard, 1.1.5.0 is particularly exciting as it lays the groundwork and systems ‘under-the-hood’ that will let us add even more mission types in future patches alongside that particular patch’s focus.

While the scope of the work undertaken in these upcoming content patches has resulted in adjustments in our timeline, we are more than confident that the rewards will outweigh the delay and you will enjoy their benefits well into the future.

As always you are welcome to join us on our Official Discord where you can talk to ourselves and the community, offer and vote on suggestions, and most importantly, show off your Halloween outfits.

Hello everyone,

Today we want to share more details on our short term workflow, upcoming changes and things we are working on, including:
  • Unique items improvements
  • Controller Support & UI improvements
We announced in our previous Monthly Update that we wanted to keep bug fixing at the center of our production cycle and that we aimed to release more frequent bug fixing patches between content patches. Since then we have pushed 3 bug fixing patches in the past 3 weeks to address specific issues reported by the community, whilst also targeting older issues that hadn’t been fixed yet.

We’re now entering a period where we want to focus on our next content patch, which should drop around the end of October/early November and bring:
  • New end-game activities including new mission types and rewards system,
  • New monsters,
  • New environments,
  • New skills damage type variations,
  • New Cosmetic Armor.
Now onto the changes that we plan on shipping later this year, after the release of our next content patch.
Unique items improvements

Following your feedback, we are preparing some changes for Unique Items, which can be summed up in two bullet points:
  • Make them exciting to loot - Seeing a Unique appear on screen should always be exciting (even if the item is not a belt) and this can only be achieved if they are worth equipping.
  • Significantly increase their power.
To achieve these goals, here are some examples of the changes we want to make to Unique items:
  • Increased efficiency on most affixes - Unique items will see their affixes increased in relation to rare or legendary items. Unique weapons damage will also be affected.
  • Extra affixes - Unique items often don't reach the 6 lines of affixes like legendary items, to solve this, we want to add extra affixes to unique items to make them more powerful.
  • Socketable - In line with rare and legendary items, any item type that can have sockets will be socketable.
The design process is still ongoing, and we will take the time needed to make sure we can make Unique items better whilst maintaining a good balance between Unique items and Legendary items/Crafted Legendary items.

Controller Support & UI improvements

We are making good progress on the addition of Controller Support to the game. While we understand this is not a feature everyone will directly benefit from, we are using the addition of Controller Support to implement an overhaul of almost every UI in the game. With this overhaul, we’re aiming at two things:
  • Making sure every UI in the game can be used intuitively with a Controller.
  • Re-designing the UI to also improve the Mouse & Keyboard user experience.
Our goal is not only to offer the best experience possible to players who want to play with a Controller but also to take this opportunity to bring improvements to our Mouse & Keyboard players. The inventory, the shops, the modifiers windows, the character sheet, and the settings menu are all part of the UIs that will be improved.

To conclude, we wanted to emphasize again how important your feedback is, and the easiest place for us to gather it is our Official Discord, feel free to join!

Have a great day!
