Hello everyone!

This is the last patch before the Second Dawn(1.0.16.0) patch in July. Although we've fixed a few issues already, we will make a more substantial patch for Second Dawn, including some balancing improvements.

We know that you're also waiting for additional content in the game, our teams are already working on the first Chronicle which will bring more content and some exciting gameplay changes that will offer more options for various builds, it will be available a few months after Second Dawn.

But for the moment, here are the Patch Notes for 1.0.15!

  • Fixed an issue causing keybinding modifications to be saved when canceled.

  • Fixed an issue causing the Tormentor soul-swallow skill to aim players behind its back.
  • Fixed an issue causing Neiddrerym to have a wrong orientation when casting its missile launch skill if the player was using Wings of Ishmir at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue preventing Gunslinger's Brand "Augmented Ammunition" variant to convert damage into a random type if combined with the "Flak Handcannon" variant.
  • Fixed an issue causing the player to be invincible after casting Juggernaut and Bleeding Edge on an Untainted Zealot.
  • Fix an issue allowing to cast "Avenger" Autoturret with less rage than it should.
  • Fixed an issue with Deathgazer Railgun "One Simple Shot" variant damage bonus computation.
  • Endgame map consumables with a level override now hide the level offset selection buttons when used.


  • Fixed the position of the Demon of Souls laser impact sound.
  • Fixed an issue preventing some boss modifiers sounds to fade out correctly.
  • Added new Republic Infantry Crossbow shoot sound.
  • Added Boss-Modifier sounds.
  • Boss-Modifier indicators now have a common sound which helps alert the player if they are standing in a damage-zone.
  • Added a new spawn sound for Republic infantry.
  • Added sounds for buffs and summoning minions skill of Chapter III’s named boss 'Nikolas'.
  • Added group audio when there are many Wild Rats on screen. Extra scurry and squeaking happens depending on the number of rats encountered.
  • Improved Rat attack sounds, now much more appropriate to their small size.
  • Improved Republic Veteran skill sounds.
  • Improved cutscene audio for some scenes in Chapter II.
  • Improved loot item volume mix. Certain drops are now more easily heard.
  • Improved Stormfall Endgame City GUI sound, now has more unique prompts, feedback, and notifications.
  • Fixed Svriir Spitter Head-Explosion DOT damage sound, damage now causes an acid burn hiss sound.
  • Fixed some broken generic DOT damage sounds.
  • Fixed cutscene audio sync problems in Chapter II.
  • Fixed Svriir Fire Alpha flames sound cutting out abruptly.
  • Fixed missing Burn damage sound for Svriir Alpha arc attack when standing in the flames.
  • Fixed missing Shotgun attack sound for Republic Elite Justicar.
  • Dialogue now uses a dynamic mix system. This means when there is dialogue, it won't dim the rest of the game sounds as much. Sound balancing is more natural with this technique.


  • Updated localization for all supported languages.
  • Adding Hungarian localization! Many thanks to our Hungarian community translator @lostprophet.hu.

  • Fixed an issue causing "0" to be displayed as a valid FPS limit in the game settings.

  • Fixed an issue causing game information on the main menu (game mode, quest progression) to disappear when changing resolution.


  • Fixed an issue where chests dropped lower tier of weapons than expected.
  • Fixed an issue while using Warpath where the player was stuck in place instead of following the mouse cursor.
  • Fixed an issue causing Blood for Blood: "Feed on Pain" buff icon to remain visible on screen after the duration of the effect.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Bulwark of Dawn’s buff duration to be refreshed properly when another instance of this skill was already active on the ground.
  • Fixed Gate of Fate bonuses to summoned monsters' damage not being properly applied.
  • Fixed an issue causing chests and lootables to drop an invalid quantity of items for specific types. This will not affect the average number of items you will drop, it will just be spread more logically.
  • Fixed a bug where Darkness points would always be displayed as "0" in the tooltip associated with "Life's First Movement”.
  • Removed an erroneous line in the tooltip of the Gate of Fates node "Furious Appetite" which stated that Willpower Generation was also changed to Rage Generation instead. The tooltip now properly reflects the gameplay effect of this node, which only changes Willpower natural regeneration in natural rage regeneration instead.
  • Health computation formula has been tweaked for percentage maluses from Gate of Fates nodes "Sacrifice of Flesh" and "Endless Litany". Health bonuses will now be properly taken into account, which should help this effect feel more "logic".
  • Fixed an issue where "Resource Generation" magic effects would reduce Rage and Willpower generation from skills like Wings of Ishmir or Sovereign Shout instead of improving it as it does for Rage and Willpower generated through basic attacks.
  • Bonuses to status ailments duration (like "Serpentine Affinity" from the Gate Of Fates) are now correctly displayed, both in the character sheet and the Active Skill Modifiers.

Hello everyone!

The Extended Soundtrack of Wolcen is now available!

Composed and arranged by our talented musicians Cédric Baravaglio and Jean-Gabriel Raynaud, this Soundtrack contains 7 volumes of music for a total of 182 tracks, including bonus tracks, ambient, dramatic, epic music, and cutscenes scores, for an epic journey of 7h56 minutes!

Until June 7, 2020, all players who purchased the Original Soundtrack will have its initial price deducted from the Extended Soundtrack!

We also want to share a few information about what we’re working on lately.

As planned, we continue to work on Second Dawn which includes bug fixing and game stabilization, while making progress on the first major content patch.
Before Second Dawn’s final patch, two smaller patches will be pushed. The last one will be more substantial but it will still be about game stabilization including bug fixing, player experience improvements(network, performance), and a few balancing changes.
Here are the deadlines for each of the last Second Dawn patches:

1.0.14.0(May): Bug fixing, game stabilization.
1.0.15.0(June): Bug fixing, game stabilization.
1.0.16.0(July): Bug fixing, game stabilization, balancing tweaks. Concludes the Second Dawn production period.

After the final patch of Second Dawn, our goal will be 1.1.0 which will bring a lot of Gameplay and Quality of Life improvements, but also the addition of a new seasonal event internally called the “Chronicle”.

A Chronicle is a temporary realm with specific events and items that players will be able to access by creating a fresh new character.
This patch will also contain a lot of changes such as new damage types in skill modifiers, damage scaling rework, Gate of Fates improvements, Quality of Life elements like the Passive Skill Tree search option, left-click rebind, and much more! And since we want everyone to enjoy improvements that are not related to the Chronicle event, players will be able to access all of them with their existing characters.

It’s still too soon to communicate any release date yet for Patch 1.1.0 or to share too many details about it, all in good times! But we’re all very excited about these changes, and we hope that you will appreciate them too.

We had reports about the impossibility to close the Untainted dungeon victory screen. As a workaround, you can click several times on the button with the right click in order for it to work.
We're preparing a hotfix to resolve the issue on our side.

Our team also continues to work on Patch 1.0.11.0, we’ve published a list of known issues today that you can already check out. We’re also planning to implement a part of the new tier of the existing Unique items. These items will be available starting level 65 and they are meant to be viable for the end-game content.

We’re also modifying a bit Eclipse by adding a stun to its basic effects. Therefore, the associated modifier “Unseelie Gale” will extend the stun duration instead of allowing the spell to stun targets in the next patch.

Before sharing the patch notes with you, we want to communicate about the present situation in France and what it means for Wolcen in the next few weeks and give you some news about our team. First of all: everyone is fine!

But starting today at 12.00 CET, all travels in France are now forbidden except under exceptional circumstances or mandatory reasons.

We've already taken measures to protect Wolcen employees and ensure that most of our team members can work from home, but that's not possible for everyone. Since we don't want any of our employees to be put at risk, they will be staying home for an unknown duration.

We're still committed to providing you the best experience possible with Wolcen and we will continue to do as much as we can, work on the next league, fix bugs, but the overall pace will be inevitably slowed down.

We're also freezing the recruitment process while the confinement remains.

  • Radical Shake: Cooldown decreased from +5s to +4s.
  • Voltaic Arc: The damage bonus granted by your weapon for this modifier is increased from 50% to 60%.

  • Increased damage gained with levels (+48% at max level).

  • Increased damage gained with levels (+32% at max level).

Evasion
  • The damage bonus granted by your weapon for this skill is increased from 100% to 120%.
  • Reduced rage cost for the skill from 100 to 90.

It’s been a month since the game was released and we would like to take this opportunity to talk about the future of the game and the decisions we’ve made lately.

These past few weeks, our team has been working on fixing numerous issues players encountered in-game, and we have many more issues to fix. The problems we encountered with the servers caused by a large number of new players also forced us to substantially change some aspects of the code to allow a lighter charge on the servers and the database requests. And there is still work to do.


Despite the issues encountered, we received a lot of positive feedback about the game and many players enjoy it which makes us very proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far. That success allows us to grow, but most importantly, it allows us to make the right choices to restore more global happiness in our community.

Operation: Second Dawn
We initially planned to put a top priority on new league content and on the new Chapter shortly after the release of the game. We’ve decided to swap the priority between the production of new content and bug fixing, game stabilization, quality of life, and recruitment during the next 4 months.

This decision comes with a name: Operation Second Dawn. Its goal is to focus on fixing several issues and invest in resources and infrastructures to make sure that the game will grow on a healthy base and a happy community.

Testing improvement
This is one of our primary objectives: reinforce the testing. We’re now working with an external QA team to improve our testing process, spot issues sooner, and fix them before a new version goes live.

On that note, we want to inform you that patch 1.0.10 will be deployed early next week instead of this week. We’ve made some changes that require extensive testing and we want to make sure that it works properly.

Story improvements
We want to bring some love to Chapter 3 and improve the diversity and the pace to make its gameplay events and encounters more appealing. In addition to adding more visual diversity, we will also add new enemies and new enemies variants.

Quality of life improvements
Localization quality and clarity, the possibility to rebind left-click(we heard you!), a Gate of Fates search function, ailment stack numbers on monsters, a new quest reward system to avoid having a window in the middle of your screen when you receive your reward(along with the possibility to stack your reward and collect them whenever you want), and more...

Balancing
You can also expect balancing improvements in addition to bug fixing. Our goal is to improve the skills that are currently less played, there should not be a lot of damage reduction or skill nerfs. The Patch 1.0.10.0 will start to bring some improvements in that direction.
We will, however, continue to intervene on extremely unbalanced skills, items, or nodes as we did for Bleeding Edge if any come to our attention.

Servers improvements
We’re investigating options to improve our coverage, server capacities, and their efficiency. We’re aware of the issues you’re encountering in-game and improving server responsiveness is one of our top priorities for solo and multiplayer.

Communication and Support
During all the Alpha and the Beta, communication and support has been handled by only one person. The release of the game made our community substantially grow and community tasks and customer support cannot be handled by a single person anymore. We’re working on reinforcing the team so the background work doesn’t affect our global communication with you. We know that you feel abandoned these days but we can assure you that we’re reading everything and we’re working on improving our communication with you.

Our goal is to keep a close relationship with our community, but we also have to make sure that everyone can have access to our replies. In the ideas considered, there is the possibility to withdraw from Discord to focus on communication on other media such as Reddit and the Official Forums to allow better visibility on the replies we make on various topics.
We also want to improve our forums to ensure that they’re user-friendly and have all the necessary elements (such as a basic search option, the possibility to pin topics, and more...).

This is just part of the changes that are in discussion at Wolcen Studio and we will keep you regularly informed regarding the progress we make and changes we bring in the game and on our communication.

After “Second Dawn”?
We’ve always planned to support Wolcen for several years and that includes regularly adding free content in the game.

The next content patch 1.1.0 will be a league, which means that unique league mechanics will be added in the game along with new content.
The characters created with the 1.0.0 will be separated from the 1.1.0 content during that league, and the league characters will be merged again with the “standard” version when the 1.2.0 is released (and so on).
For each league, players will have to start a new character to play the league.

New Chapters are also planned. Keep in mind that it takes more time to make a new Chapter than to make Leagues, so you can expect a new Chapter much later.
