We had reports about the impossibility to close the Untainted dungeon victory screen. As a workaround, you can click several times on the button with the right click in order for it to work.

As mentioned in the latest Patch Notes, since we're all practicing social distancing, we'd like to invite you to our live stream this Sunday 22nd of March at 1 PM (PST) with Wolcen stream with the creator of Diablo, David Brevik, as a special guest!

Our team also continues to work on Patch 1.0.11.0, we’ve published a list of known issues today that you can already check out. We’re also planning to implement a part of the new tier of the existing Unique items. These items will be available starting level 65 and they are meant to be viable for the end-game content.

We’re also modifying a bit Eclipse by adding a stun to its basic effects. Therefore, the associated modifier “Unseelie Gale” will extend the stun duration instead of allowing the spell to stun targets in the next patch.

Before sharing the patch notes with you, we want to communicate about the present situation in France and what it means for Wolcen in the next few weeks and give you some news about our team. First of all: everyone is fine!

But starting today at 12.00 CET, all travels in France are now forbidden except under exceptional circumstances or mandatory reasons.

We've already taken measures to protect Wolcen employees and ensure that most of our team members can work from home, but that's not possible for everyone. Since we don't want any of our employees to be put at risk, they will be staying home for an unknown duration.

We're still committed to providing you the best experience possible with Wolcen and we will continue to do as much as we can, work on the next league, fix bugs, but the overall pace will be inevitably slowed down.

We're also freezing the recruitment process while the confinement remains.

Hello everyone,

It’s been a month since the game was released and we would like to take this opportunity to talk about the future of the game and the decisions we’ve made lately.

These past few weeks, our team has been working on fixing numerous issues players encountered in-game, and we have many more issues to fix. The problems we encountered with the servers caused by a large number of new players also forced us to substantially change some aspects of the code to allow a lighter charge on the servers and the database requests. And there is still work to do.


Despite the issues encountered, we received a lot of positive feedback about the game and many players enjoy it which makes us very proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far. That success allows us to grow, but most importantly, it allows us to make the right choices to restore more global happiness in our community.

Operation: Second Dawn
We initially planned to put a top priority on new league content and on the new Chapter shortly after the release of the game. We’ve decided to swap the priority between the production of new content and bug fixing, game stabilization, quality of life, and recruitment during the next 4 months.

This decision comes with a name: Operation Second Dawn. Its goal is to focus on fixing several issues and invest in resources and infrastructures to make sure that the game will grow on a healthy base and a happy community.

Testing improvement
This is one of our primary objectives: reinforce the testing. We’re now working with an external QA team to improve our testing process, spot issues sooner, and fix them before a new version goes live.

On that note, we want to inform you that patch 1.0.10 will be deployed early next week instead of this week. We’ve made some changes that require extensive testing and we want to make sure that it works properly.

Story improvements
We want to bring some love to Chapter 3 and improve the diversity and the pace to make its gameplay events and encounters more appealing. In addition to adding more visual diversity, we will also add new enemies and new enemies variants.

Quality of life improvements
Localization quality and clarity, the possibility to rebind left-click(we heard you!), a Gate of Fates search function, ailment stack numbers on monsters, a new quest reward system to avoid having a window in the middle of your screen when you receive your reward(along with the possibility to stack your reward and collect them whenever you want), and more...

Balancing
You can also expect balancing improvements in addition to bug fixing. Our goal is to improve the skills that are currently less played, there should not be a lot of damage reduction or skill nerfs. The Patch 1.0.10.0 will start to bring some improvements in that direction.
We will, however, continue to intervene on extremely unbalanced skills, items, or nodes as we did for Bleeding Edge if any come to our attention.

Servers improvements
We’re investigating options to improve our coverage, server capacities, and their efficiency. We’re aware of the issues you’re encountering in-game and improving server responsiveness is one of our top priorities for solo and multiplayer.

Communication and Support
During all the Alpha and the Beta, communication and support has been handled by only one person. The release of the game made our community substantially grow and community tasks and customer support cannot be handled by a single person anymore. We’re working on reinforcing the team so the background work doesn’t affect our global communication with you. We know that you feel abandoned these days but we can assure you that we’re reading everything and we’re working on improving our communication with you.

Our goal is to keep a close relationship with our community, but we also have to make sure that everyone can have access to our replies. In the ideas considered, there is the possibility to withdraw from Discord to focus on communication on other media such as Reddit and the Official Forums to allow better visibility on the replies we make on various topics.
We also want to improve our forums to ensure that they’re user-friendly and have all the necessary elements (such as a basic search option, the possibility to pin topics, and more...).

This is just part of the changes that are in discussion at Wolcen Studio and we will keep you regularly informed regarding the progress we make and changes we bring in the game and on our communication.

After “Second Dawn”?
We’ve always planned to support Wolcen for several years and that includes regularly adding free content in the game.

The next content patch 1.1.0 will be a league, which means that unique league mechanics will be added in the game along with new content.
The characters created with the 1.0.0 will be separated from the 1.1.0 content during that league, and the league characters will be merged again with the “standard” version when the 1.2.0 is released (and so on).
For each league, players will have to start a new character to play the league.

New Chapters are also planned. Keep in mind that it takes more time to make a new Chapter than to make Leagues, so you can expect a new Chapter much later.

Hello everyone,

We've worked on a lot of bug fixing this week but there is one we would like to talk about specifically before you read the patch notes.

We know that you appreciate the possibility to change Unique items into legendary items and to craft them, however, we have to remove these possibilities for the moment.
We are definitely not against implementing it as a feature in the future, we find the possibilities that it offers interesting, but we want to spend time in designing it so the system works and is properly integrated with the rest of the game.

We will also implement a new power tier of uniques for the end-game progression with better raw values in a future patch, we are aware that aside from a few exceptions, Uniques are currently not competitive for high-end content.

  • Character incorrect gold values and Primordial Affinity resulting from bug exploits have been restored to a normal value.
  • Fixed an exploit allowing players to stack temporary productivity bonuses.
  • It is now impossible to put a Unique item into the Transmutation Forge or Dark Market item upgrade projects. Unique items that have been transformed this way prior to the update have been reset. If you already had a pending project with a Unique item in it, you will receive a legendary item but it will be updated after you reconnect in the game.
  • Fixed issues happening when quickly switching from online to offline.
  • Fixed one issue causing unlocked cosmetics to reset. We found another one so a reset can unfortunately still happen, but it will be much less frequent. We’re working on a fix.
  • Removed the ability to unstack items from the trade window.

  • Juggernaut : fixed an issue causing players to get stunned by their own Juggernaut when using the "Simulacra" and the "Strike Rebound" modifiers.
  • Sovereign Shout: fixed an issue preventing players to apply Weakness stacks when using the "Dawnbreaker" modifier.
  • Winter's Grasp now doesn't gain Cooldown Reduction per level.
  • Bulwark of Dawn: "Sacred Grounds" now only tick 2 times per second instead of 3.
  • Flight of Gaavanir: Fixed an issue that causes the Critical Chance from Block Chance of "Standing Boulder" to be way higher than expected.
  • Bleeding Edge "Unstoppable Momentum": increased the damage reduction from -100 to -150.
  • Bleeding Edge "Unstoppable Momentum": fixed the damage gain per level from 1 to 0.
  • Bleeding Edge "Unstoppable Momentum": now also adds a 10 seconds cooldown to the skill.
  • Bleeding Edge "Despotic Perseverance": reduced the Damage Multiplier per Ailment Stack from 20% to 2%.
  • Bleeding Edge "Self-adjusting Principle": reduced the Projectile Speed Multiplier from 1.75 to 1.3.

Summoning skills
Damage curve for summons
  • The damage of the summons is greatly increased in the first 15 levels (up to +100%).
  • Increased summons damage during the first 40 levels by around 20%.
  • Summons damage from level 40 to level 90 are also increased from + 20% to + 200%.
Health curve for summons
  • Increased the Health pool of the summons from level 1 to 55 (from +500% to 0%).
  • Reduced the Health pool of summons from level 55 to 90 (from 0% to -75%).
Summons AI
  • Summons should now move faster and stay ahead of their summoner when traveling.
  • Summons now engage targets from further.
  • Melee summons attack shape has been improved: they now hit a larger area.
Skills
  • Livor Mortis: the Immortal Maw’s base Health Multiplier is reduced by 30%.
  • Feeding Swarm: the base Health Multiplier for the summons has been increased by 50%.
  • Hunting Swarm: the base Health Multiplier for the summons has been increased by 100%.
  • Parasite: Increased base bonus damage to possessed monsters from 100% to 300%.
  • Parasite: Possessed monsters now have a bonus of 50% Attack and Cast Speed.
  • Parasite: Possessed monsters now have a bonus of 100% Movement Speed.
  • Parasite: "On Shoulders of Giants" modifier now increases the minion’s Health by 40% and the minion’s damage by 33%.
  • Fixed a bug where possessed monsters didn't have the base bonus applied by Parasite.


  • Arms Maester, Virtuose stance, and Probing weakness Stances now give -25% to All Resistance Score instead of 0%
  • The Critical Damage bonus has been reduced on many nodes: from 20% to 15%, from 14% to 10%, and from 10% to 5%.
  • Futile endeavor now increases block efficiency from 14% to 20%.
  • Merciless Lethality Critical Damage Modifier is reduced from 100% to 60%.
  • Fixed an issue causing the "Toxic Emanations" passive node to stop working after teleporting.
  • Fixed an issue with the "Faith Leech" passive node computation.
  • Fixed an issue causing the game to restore your Gate of Fates configuration after paying for a reset and quitting the game instantly.

  • Fixed an issue in the way the Genesis helmet skill casting effect was computed. Skills launched by this item cannot proc the effect themselves anymore.
  • Fixed specific tiers of helmet and boots that were able to have 2 sockets.
  • Fixed some low Tier of magic effects on armor being able to drop on chests at a higher level where they shouldn't.
  • Fixed a bug with Block Efficiency making it unable to roll on shields after the level 90
