We’ve started to show you summoning skills and you will have a few details about two of them in this news. Next week, we will introduce all the remaining skills (now 6 left), including two other skills for summoners. It’s going to be a little more intense on social media so stay tuned if you want to have a glimpse of new modifiers for current skills, or the new skills!

As previously announced, we are now shutting down the Online Beta servers to prepare for the release of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. You can still play Wolcen Offline while waiting for the release on February 13.

Also, we would like to remind everyone that a complete wipe will be done on characters progress, that includes all characters(Online and Offline), inventories and chests deletion.

Hello everyone!

All this week, we’ve been sharing with you each day new modifiers for the current skills, and new skills that will be added at the release on February 13. This will continue until the release of the game, so don’t hesitate to check our updates on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and Discord.

Today, we would like to zoom on the new skills presented this week, and give you a bit more information about their various modifiers.



The system remains the same; your skills gain experience on their own when you have them in your action bar, or if you use Primordial Affinity to improve them into Demetra’s shop.
When your skills progress, in addition to making them more efficient, you gain modifier points, and you unlock new modifiers allowing you to customize them.

At the release, we will adjust the values to make them match a level 90 character. And here is how it will work:

Modifiers will be divided into three types:
Minor modifier(cost: 1 modifier point)
Medium modifier(cost: 2 modifier points)
Major modifier(cost: 3 modifier points).

Your first modifier point will be unlocked at skill level 5, along with the first two skill modifiers.
Once your skill reaches level 5, you will gain 1 modifier point every 6 skill levels, and 1 new skill modifier every 3 skill levels.


This means that your character unlocks all the skill modifiers at skill level 47.
This also means that your character reaches the maximum of 10 modifier points at skill level 59.

In addition to this, each of the 40 skills will have 16 modifiers. Finally, you will be able to level up your skills and improve their efficiency until they reach level 90.

Hello everyone!

You’ve been asking for some news about crafting for some time now, today we’re happy to share with you what is crafting in Wolcen, and how this works.

But first, we would like to inform you that the Online servers for Wolcen will be shut down on January 29 to prepare for the release version.
Starting January 29, it will only be possible to play Wolcen Offline until the release of the game on February 13.

Now let’s talk about the main topic!



Let’s have a word about gems since they’re going to be part of the crafting process.

Gems will be a bit different at the release and offer various options.
Their affixes values will not be based on a random roll but will be fixed and only determined by the gem’s type and quality. This allows gems to be stackable items.

Here is an example of what it will be like. As usual, keep in mind that the values shown on these items are not final.



As you noticed, there will now be three types of Offensive, Defensive, and Support bonuses. The matching sockets to these bonuses will be determined by a random roll on your armor.



This armor allows you to have two Defensive (I) and one Defensive (II) sockets which corresponds on the shown gem to +6 Health Regeneration and +6% Force Shield Regeneration Rate.

The chances to roll a socket (I), (II) or (III) are the same, there is no rarity rank between these.

Socketting these gems will offer you on this armor an additional bonus of +12 Health Regeneration and +6% Force Shield Regeneration Rate.





The craft will be based on item affixes modifications and consuming socketed gems to force or protect specific affixes. For that, you will have several reagents available in-game as loots or endgame rewards, and you will need to use gems if you want to have control over the outcome of your craft.

Here are the various reagents that will be available:






These reagents all have special effects and you don’t need to have a gem on your item to use them at all. They also exist with a Greater form allowing you to use them on legendary items, but never on Uniques.



Also, to allow you better control over your crafting and the bonuses that you wish to add or protect on your items, you will have the possibility to reroll your sockets at the Jeweller, Zanafer Stark.

Take note that the Item level will define the minimum and maximum tier of modifiers applicable to the item.
The average gem level will define the maximum tier of modifier forced or protected on the item.



Here is a small example of what I can do with the item and gems I’ve used, adding an Erieban’s Tear. Erieban’s tear adds a random magic effect when used on an item. It consumes all socketed gems to guarantee a new magic effect whose power depends on the gem's level and the type of gem socketed.
In case of different gem types socketed, the craft will be affected randomly by one of these gems.

Let's assume I'm lucky, so the result would be the following:



On this item, I managed to obtain +6 Health Regeneration as an additional bonus, and I still have sockets to improve that bonus if I want to.
There is a limit to the number of Prefixes and Suffixes I can have on an item, but as long as there is room for it and reagents to work with, you can have some very interesting results to maximize your gear efficiency.



In addition to the traditional gems, you will also be able to obtain special gems allowing you to add very powerful modifiers to your armor and weapons through crafting, such as the ability to use a skill that you should not be able to use otherwise, add an ailment stack, additional pierce, basically the effects that you can already have in the current Sarisel challenge, and more that will be added at the release.

Our CEO, Daniel Dolui, wants to personally give you an important information regarding a slight change in the release date of Wolcen. This is not much, but for us it’s everything, and we hope that you will be understanding.

In addition to this, we wanted to share with you some images of our studio, and mostly a preview on the new character customization that will be available at the release of the game. That customization preview contains the return of the female character model, and we’re very happy to finally introduce her to you.

“Hello everyone this is Daniel Dolui and I'm the CEO of Wolcen Studio.

Some of you already know me, or at least my accent, from the Kickstarter videos. It's been a while since I‘ve talked to you directly, but today we have some important news to bring you and I think I should do it myself.

We decided to delay the game by two weeks, bringing it to February 13th because the game needs to be as polished as possible.

Internally, everyone is working incredibly hard towards the release of the game, and we are really looking forward to enjoying its content with our players. However, we need to do this right and ensure that we have a high quality, polished experience at launch.

In our current situation, even a day of work makes a huge impact on the final quality of Wolcen. We don’t want to waste several years of development, and the quality of such a strong project, by releasing an unstable version of the game.

We sincerely believed that the game would be ready on time, and we are really close to it. But, as you know, this is our first game, and we want to give it as much love and care as we possibly can.

For the team, this means two more weeks of hard work, and this is not a decision we have taken lightly. It will be hard for everyone, but we are passionate and we know that this is necessary if we are to release a successful game.

Since the Kickstarter, our company has grown in an amazing way, allowing us to improve the game beyond what we could ever have dreamed of at the beginning of the project.

We’ve come a long way from being 5 guys working in their room on a clunky game that suffered from tons of memory leaks.

Today we have a team of more than 40 people working on this great game. Our team is proud of our achievements, and hearing players give such positive feedback makes us feel that our hard work is paying off.

This is going to be an amazing release. The finish line is so close.

All we ask is for a tiny bit of patience so that we can make Wolcen as awesome as we all know it can be.

Wolcen Studio wishes you a very happy new year!

We’re all very excited by the beginning of 2020 since we’re finally arriving at the release of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. Everyone here is super focused on polishing the game and making it as good as possible for the deadline, and so far, we can already tell that it’s going to be great!

Since the last time we showed you a team photo, a lot has changed in the studio and we have continued to grow in number, in talent, and passion. We’re now more than 40 employees at the office, all dedicated to making Wolcen an awesome ARPG and ensuring that our community has tons of fun playing it.

We will come back with more specific news about the content starting next week, but for now, we want to wish you a happy new year in style!

Hello everyone!

It’s time for us to prepare for the last stretch leading us to the release of Wolcen, and we’re happy to announce that the game is shaping really well!

Currently, we’re working on a lot of things that will be available at the release, including polishing new skills and the additional modifiers for the current skills. We will share more information about this with you in later news.
We’ve also added a lot of other new things! And here are a few information about a few of them:

First of all, on an exploration note, secondary areas will be available again. Like in the Alpha, you will have the possibility to find them during your journey and achieve optional objectives, including meeting sub-bosses with special boss modifiers.
These are placed in new environments specially made for secondary areas and offer various rewards.





You can see on these screenshots that the HUD has been completely redesigned to integrate the Apocalyptic gauge(at the center) and the final available skill slots. You will have 4 slots for your skills during the campaign, and a 5th that you will be able to unlock in the endgame.

Difficulty modes are also confirmed for the campaign at the release of the game. You will have access to a Story mode allowing you to go through the campaign without worrying about the difficulty, and a Normal mode fitting our design for difficulty in Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem.



At the release, Wolcen will offer a very refined tinting system with at least 100 different dyes to loot with various rarities. This system will be available in the Cosmetic inventory where you will also be able to swap skin for each piece of armor.

Weapons will not be eligible for tinting, but you will be able to swap their skins with the same weapon type.



Among other things, the Gate of Fates class names have also been decided, and we would like to share a few information about the sub-classes and their associated gameplay fantasy. Keep in mind that the mechanics and values are still subject to change.

Today, we would like to offer you one final Hotfix to improve the loading times for everyone, add localization for Spanish and Polish languages in the language selection menu, and add some improvements for other localizations.

We would like to thank all the community members who worked on the localization for Content Patch 2, we’re happy to work with such a great team and we will be moving shortly to the localization for the release of the game. We’re all very excited to start working on it!

  • The Loading Times improvement on the client side has been deployed for everyone, you don’t need to make the -PLL manipulation anymore to activate it. However, we recommend that you put Wolcen on a SSD hard drive, if you have one, to have the best loading performance with the game.


  • The Polish localization has been implemented. You can provide your feedback on that localization on this topic. A major thank you to Noriaa and Kamil Gajda "d4ntes", they worked a lot to make sure that the Polish language is available for you today and they definitely deserve hugs.
  • The Spanish localization is now available in the game menu! You can provide feedback on the Spanish localization on this topic. Many thanks to Ashok and Ldtime for their work!

The Original Soundtrack Digital keys are now available for eligible Kickstarter backers (Knight+) on your account of the Official Website.

How to access your reward?
You need to login or create your account on the Official Website, and link the Kickstarter email you provided us in your Kickstarter survey.

Note: If you haven’t created an account yet, we recommend that you create it by signing in with Steam since some of the rewards will require your Steam account to be linked to your Official Website account.

You can register by following this link.



Once you’re connected, in order to claim your Digital Soundtrack key, you just have to follow this simple manipulation:

1. Go in your profile section.



2. Make sure that you are on the “Account” tab.



3. Put the Kickstarter email that you provided in the Kickstarter survey for rewards in the dedicated box.



Once your Kickstarter email is entered, your account will be automatically updated with all the badges for your backer rank and below.

You will also have access to the Digital Soundtrack Steam key, directly added in the Keys & DLC section available from the profile page.



If you link your Steam account to your Official Website account, you will also receive the Digital Soundtrack badge, banner, frame and portrait, providing you claimed your OST key on your linked Steam account, of course.

Know that you can link your Steam account directly from your Account section in your profile as well, all this requires is that you connect on the website with Steam.

We believe our game will provide a very high quality game experience and are very happy to keep developing it with free updates.
For that reason, and as planned since we entered early access, the game price of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem will be increased to 39,99€($44,99), this will be the final price for the game’s release in January 2020.

Additional information: purchasing the game always granted you access to the Alpha, Beta & the full release of the game. So if you already own the game for a while, don't worry, you won't have to pay for it again at the release.
