Ahoy, me hearties! ‘Pirate City’, the next DLC for Tempest, will release on May 29th. Just 7 days left before you can finally start building your own Pirate Heaven!

We have previously mentioned how exactly you will be able to build the city of your dreams, along with some additional details on a land-based battle arena where your captain is going to be challenged with all kinds of creatures. But is that it? Of course not!


According to legends, a mysterious ship has been roaming the seas for many decades. Those who dare board it leave the realm of the living, but they never actually die. Nothing can scare the Grim Reaper's crew. Will you be brave enough to discover its dark secrets?




As a respected captain, you will get an opportunity to buy shares in shops located in any friendly city. These fine establishments will grant fixed income depending on the current stage of your settlement. In addition, players will have to pay attention to their relationship with the specific faction that owns the city.


If you happen to lose the trust of the faction, you will get less income or even lose all of it. One other thing to remember is that you are allowed to partner with one shop only, so pick it wisely!

Hey, pirates! Previously, we have already told you about the building of your own settlement in Pirate City, which is one of the central features of this addon. Today, we are going to shed some more light on the content of the upcoming DLC for Tempest: a land-based battle arena.

Yes, you heard it right — this time the only person you can rely on is your own captain. Will you be able to survive the ever growing waves of pirates, skeletons, and god knows what else?


To enter the arena you will have to investigate a new marker on your map that should be located near your own city. Once you reach the destination, you will have an opportunity to choose the weapon and start testing your combat skills. Unlike the regular island based missions you got used to while playing Tempest (first introduced in Treasure Lands DLC), the arena is going to offer you space limited zone that will get filled with enemies for you to fight with.


You can expect to be handsomely rewarded for each wave of foes you defeat. The longer you can survive without leaving the arena, the bigger the reward is going to be! Also, you will be able to participate in a global arena records book that will give you an opportunity to compete against other captains from all around the world.


Become an absolute champion of the arena, and earn the reputation of the most fearsome and respected pirate in known history!

Ahoy, pirates! We have recently announced the Pirate City DLC, and we plan to share the details regarding its most prominent features over the coming weeks. Today, we will go over the ability to build and develop your own settlement and become the richest and most famous captain of them all!



Generally, your city will have 3 stages of development, and as a promising governor, you get to control a simple settlement first (stage 0). This will net you a warehouse where you can store all of the goods that your beloved ship couldn’t contain. To progress to the next stage, you will have to make a certain financial investment and complete a few quests.


Get ready to provide your new home with proper protection, do favors for fellow traders (generous rewards included), search for missing people that got themselves in serious trouble, fight hideous sea monsters and punish thieves among your crew. Sounds like some great adventures are waiting for you, captain!


With each new stage, your city will get bigger: new taverns and shops will unlock, giving you access to more experienced crew members for hire, as well as valuable goods that you can acquire. Eventually, your fame as a city leader will expand so much that some sailors would be honored to work on your vessel absolutely for free!

Here’s a teaser of the brig in action, which is available for boarding and capturing (but only the bravest may dare — the crew of this ship is a bit... unusual):



We are also introducing a land based battle arena that will be located near your city, so you can test your captain’s melee fighting skills against skeletons and pirate zombies. Yes, we said PIRATE ZOMBIES =)



Enter the arena, pick a weapon of choice and get ready to rumble! The more waves of enemies you can survive, the bigger the reward! New achievements included ;)


Along with the release of the Pirate City DLC, the base game will also feature a general overhaul including an updated tutorial, improved water physics and some updates to visuals. Plus, quite a few bugs were sent to walk the plank!

Hey, pirates! Today we would like to give you a few hints regarding our next update for Tempest which is going to fix quite a few nasty bugs you've submitted to us so far. First of all we are introducing a more stable game process saving mechanics that should solve most if not all issues you experienced with saving before.

Also we are working on updating the following quests which were reported to have certain problems including:

• the enemy marker indicates tower instead of a sea monster in "Kraken stew III", "Dead Offspring" and "Crab Treatment"
  
• no progress is recorded during the "Charybdis" quest after you inspecting the rocks
  
• no tips are shown on the map in "It`s all about the ropes I-II", "Kraken stew I-II", "Scylla" and "Cagey Sea Bear"
  
• game crashes / you getting stuck in islands during the transition between maps in certain places
  
• game crashes during transition to the open sea mode in "Ships for The Ragtag"
