RAID: World War II - lgl_ilija

Hey Raiders!
Thanks for everyone who joined the Free Weekend and we hope you had a great time, and decided to stick around and be part of our community! The offers are still on and will be until the 19th for anyone who wants some time to think about it. Certainly, we loved seeing the player base increase and we hope you all found coop missions to join!

We had a stream on Friday to talk about some developments, and we wanted to share some of these with you all!

This weeks patch
We are now working on the patch for this wednesday, and some of the things that we couldnt finish in time for the friday patch will be fixed there along with some other issues brought up by the community.

Ending on the new Countdown raid, and grenade stats are some of the things that will be in on Wednesday.

XP and Gold Rewards
We are looking into further tweaks on this system to refine it, and we hope to have more updates ready in a patch soon. One thing we want to accomplish is a decent rate of rewards across all levels, in particular with Gold, but we just wanted to hint on that, and you’ll find out more on the reasons for the Gold rewards soon!

Level Code Named: Kelly
We haven’t shown any gameplay of this level yet, but its coming along nicely, and we will soon be going into a closed beta! We did announce the competition winner from our shotgun competition to be invited for the Kelly level Beta and we will have a Stream in the not so distant future for that!

Here is a Work in progress screenshot:

Stealth
We mentioned in our Friday stream that we are now looking into Stealth, and as part of that we are looking into the potential stealth arsenals that the player could have. If you have a favourite, we would love to hear about it! For all you guys that didn’t know, the in-development level codenamed: Kelly will have stealth as an intricate part of its level design!

Shotgun Competition
For all those that didn’t know, the Ithaca shotgun won the competition and it will be the next major weapon to go into the game! More details on the next
patch soon.

All New Content Update!

New Level

During development we codenamed this new level “Silo”, but it now has an official name: “Countdown”.

The Raid Gang are in an all-out action-packed mission to infiltrate and cause maximum destruction on an early prototype missile bunker which holds a V2 rocket!

New Primary Weapon

There were many requests for the Lee Enfield weapon and we thought it was time to put this amazing bolt action magazine fed rifle into RAID: World War II for you all to enjoy!

The Lee Enfield is unlocked at level 33 for the Recon class.

New Secondary Weapon

You now have even more ways to blast Nazis with this handy sawn-off shotgun! Perfect for those close quarter take outs, why not try it in the Countdown mission!

The Sawn-off Shotgun is unlocked at level 8 for Demolition Class and at level 11 for all other classes.

New Grenade

As we showcased, the Mills Grenade (or Mills bomb as some would call it) is a classic, and an early fragmentation grenade used by the British Army during world war I. The mills is a short ranged large damage grenade.

The Mills Grenade Unlocks at level 31 for all classes.

New outfit

We love this Bomber jacket and pants set, and we hope to see lots of Raiders wearing the latest in military fashion during these cold days. The jackets are made with the very best leather and lined with sheepskin!

XP and Balancing

We have spent some time closed beta testing changes for the grind complaints. Remember that we continue to make changes after this, so your feedback is welcome!

This update contains the following changes:

XP requirements per character have been lowered
Weapon challenges have been adjusted and you should see the overall stats lower
The distance-based challenges have lowered distances cross all tiers
The tier 4 specials-based challenges are now drastically lowered
Some stats have increased to align with the weapon archetype and tier
Operations now give much more XP at increasing values

Previous Competition Winners

We have added the propaganda competition winners names into the camp, and also their poster designs are now throughout the game!

Additional Fixes

Programming
  • Added functionality that ensures that the clients are granted their mission
  • rewards if the host leaves before they have time to receive them
  • Fixed incorrect total health calculation in skill tree screen

Level
  • Changed interaction positions on all dog tags. Dog tags should now all be obtainable

Design
  • Slightly lowered the amount of team health regen on Assault. At max level it should now do 40% team health regen instead of 50%
Stream

Raiders!

Welcome to day 3 of the announcement plan up until Tomorrows release! Not long to go now before you get your hand on this juicy content update!

Countdown Raid
What was codenamed Silo for a while now, has an official name! Introducing “Countdown”!
It all takes place in a top-secret Nazi bunker where they are developing the latest in devastating weaponry… the V2 rocket. This is something the world hasn’t seen yet, and the Raid Gang are going to make sure the world will never see it.

The countdown raid comes with something that is completely new to us, it is built out of multiple levels, and certain parts will change completely from play through to play through. Not only the layout, but also the objective in those parts will vary.

We really hope you enjoy this new map tomorrow! and that you look forward to new ones as much as we do!

Update time
The update will be live tomorrow ( February 8th) and it will be free for anyone who owns the base game. Tomorrow we will also post the patch notes, with other fixes that are done and that will go into the game in this update.

Shotgun competition finalists!
Last week we announced a new community competition for you to decide the next shotgun going into RAID: World War II.
Thanks for everyone who entered! There were some really amazing entries so keep up the good work! And for all those who didn’t join, we hope you join next time!

Finalists: Click the picture to go to the voting page

But for now, please all vote on your favourate postcard!
I’m sure Mrs. White will be very pleased.

Hey Raiders!

Welcome to day 2 of the RAID: World War II content reveal!
Yesterday you got to see a new jacket we love, and the classic Mills grenade. Today you see more as we show you what’s going to be in the Thursday 8th release!

Sawn-off Shotgun
We absolutely love this secondary weapon we are adding into the game. It really is a close quarter master especially in tight corridors. The sawn-off shotgun just feels so satisfying when aiming at a Nazi head and saying “BLAMMO”!

Lee Enfield
We did see the countless amount of times that the community asked for the Lee Enfield and we thought it was time to oblige!
The Lee Enfield is a bolt actioned rifle that is magazine fed, and was the standard rifle of the British army. As we were testing this internally I can tell you our headshot count went satisfyingly up!

More tomorrow!
Tomorrow we will continue the content reveals! Come back then for more!
