Welcome back to our Stronghold Next Q&A series! The second part in our massive community Q&A sees Nick answering 25 questions about our next Stronghold title. With all questions taken from Stronghold videos on the Firefly YouTube channel, we answer as much as possible about our upcoming castle sim.

Welcome to part one of our massive Stronghold Next Q&A! We answer your questions from previous Stronghold videos on our YouTube channel, hoping to tide everyone over until the full gameplay reveal. Nick answers more than 50 of your most pressing questions over the next two weeks, all without going into spoiler territory!

Watch as we reveal as much as possible about the upcoming castle sim including similarities with the Crusader series, game modes, mods, pricing, diplomacy, language support, release dates and more! There’s also discussion about the Stronghold series as a whole, such as how likely we are to see a console version of the castle builder and possible future settings.

With our Stronghold Next 2018 gameplay reveal still a few months out, the devs here at Firefly thought a fresh info drop might satisfy any news cravings you might be currently experiencing. Enter Nick with a bunch of new info about our upcoming Stronghold title currently in development, delivered exclusively on the Firefly Studios YouTube channel!

Today we reveal fresh information about the game's new setting, gameplay mechanic, returning units, siege equipment and more. We've done our best to reveal as much as we can about the next Stronghold game without spoiling our gameplay reveal planned for later this year. Our second major update on the Stronghold front comes from the game's Lead Programmer himself! While at PAX East showing players our new tactical dungeon crawler MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures, we sit down with Tony to discuss the upcoming game's setting, returning features, overall gameplay and direction.

To tide everyone over until our next feature and the full gameplay reveal later this year, this interview covers a number of points of interest for series fans:

• Sequel? - Tony confirms that Stronghold Next will be neither Stronghold Crusader 3 nor Legends 2. These games could still happen, but we have no plans at this time.
  
• Returning Features - In addition to confirming skirmish for the game, our new interview sheds light on a few classic features and units returning for this brand new Stronghold.
  
• Sim Gameplay - While our next game will retain the full RTS and besieging experience, it will also shift the focus a little back to the simulation gameplay we all know and love.
  
• No Magic! - Not a single wand, pointy hat or dragon in sight.

Our upcoming Stronghold will be self-published by Firefly Studios on Steam and released when it's ready. In addition to Next being a completely new entry in the series another top priority is to deliver a fun, polished game from day one that incorporates as many fan-favourite features and touches as possible.

We’re kicking off the year with a short announcement on the status of our upcoming Stronghold game! It gives us great pleasure to announce that we have now entered into full production on the next mainline Stronghold for PC.

Planned for late summer, our full gameplay reveal will include the following:

• Title & Setting - It may surprise you to know that 'Stronghold Next' is just a code name! So we'll be announcing this along with the game's setting.
  
• Planned Features - We'll be talking single player and multiplayer plans for Stronghold Next and the return of some fan-favorite features.
  
• Game Mechanics - Fresh gameplay will give you exciting new ways to play and strategic options for decimating foes on the battlefield.
  
• New Units - Our debut gameplay footage will include a few of the new units you'll be using to besiege your friends at launch.

As with Stronghold Crusader 2, Stronghold Next will be digitally self-published by Firefly Studios and released when it’s ready on Steam. Please look forward to more Stronghold Next information in the coming months and if you have questions about the game let us know!
