( VERSION 1.5 - FPS MODULE 1.0 )
First public release of v1.5.0 is expected to debut TOMORROW, Saturday - June 4, 2016. We will follow up with a v1.5.1 to add/adjust a few things that are known but also integrating any community-posted feedback.

This is the biggest update yet adding the much demanded FPS portion of the game. While already even more in-depth and amazing than what we did with Prelude we've already announced/confirmed/committed to more! We will be doing an FPS Module 2.0 follow up in 2017 and further the content by adding Weapon Sights (ADS) and Weapon Attachments/Customization.

( ELITE PACKAGE )
We are scheduled to offer a new version of The Orion Project which will be the Elite Package. This will retail for $100 towards new owners and only a $50 upgrade option available for Founders if they wish to do so as it is NOT required.

My name is David and I am 29 years old and I've been modding/making games since 11 years old, starting with the Quake 2 engine/Star Wars: Jedi Knight II.

I am most known for the Orion game series which I've been working on for just under twenty years. We released the first official product in 2009/2010 in the form of a Half-Life 2 mod called ORION: Source Prototype and it accumulated 100,000 registered downloads.

In 2011 we went to make things more official and held a Kickstarter to raise funds to develop a standalone, spiritual successor to ORION: Prototype in the form of ORION: Prelude. This was before Kickstarter was widely known and it was a successful campaign, raising $15k all said and done.

There were many interesting events worth reading about from that moment and up until it's eventual release. You can check that out here:

Long story short we had to release six months early due to actions out of our control. This led to us releasing one of the "Worst Games Ever", also known as ORION: Dino Beatdown.

After many terrible reviews we bunkered down and spent the next three years releasing more than 60 game updates and many game-changing additions which took it from Dino Beatdown to Dino Horde and eventually back home to its initial vision as ORION: Prelude!

After five years we are finally working on a brand new game using brand new technology and content. It is the game I've personally dreamed of making for the last 20 years and I couldn't be more thrilled to finally be working on it. It is called The Orion Project and it will be one of the largest games of all time. It is currently in Steam Early Access and we've accomplished so much in just the first six months. This will be a great project as we will be putting in MORE support for this game than even our previous which had over five years of our time on it. We anticipate this game will extend 5-10 years out from now and we will cover many genres and demographics including Shooting, Racing, Adventure, Social, Building and more!

Right now we are gearing up to release the biggest update to the game which will add the brand new FPS Module 1.0, making The Orion Project the *only* game with three perspectives allowing you to play however you want and swap in real-time! These perspectives include Top-Down, Third-Person and First-Person once 1.5 is out. We've gone completely over the top with this module and have included special little touches like first-person fatalities:

FPS Module 2.0 will arrive in 2017 around this time and add things like weapons sights and attachments.

We expect to release this game-changing update in just a few days and we finally have some time to breathe as we finish the wrap of the public build and would love to answer any questions for any aspiring artists, game developers, fans of games or ANYONE!

Some slight change-ups and announcements to share regarding The Orion Project and upcoming version updates. Please read below:

VERSION 1.5 - FPS Module 1.0
Only days away from release! Very close!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRTnpp5ufD4

VERSION 1.6 - PvP Module 1.0
Mech production is more involved and we are really hammering insane details into both the class units and their weapons. We will need some additional time to deliver a full and amazing Mech experience and instead of tackling both PvP and Mechs in the same update we will instead be focused 100% on PvP for 1.6.

VERSION 1.7 - Mech Module 1.0
We will be focused 100% on Mechs for Version 1.7. This additional time will allow us to also integrate SkyFly Shopping and PvE Mech integration.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTA9iDIQHfY

VERSION 1.8 - Social Module 1.0
We will be delivering Nova City and NPC/Vendor characters and creatures for the very first time in an Orion gaming experience.

See you in 1.5 soon!
