Valve has thanked the Team Fortress 2 community for raising an incredible $430,543.65 for the Japanese disaster relief fund.
That number represents the sale of three limited hats and two noisemakers - items added to the Mann Co. Team Fortress 2 game store at the end of March.
"Nice work, everyone!" wrote Valve on the TF2 blog. "It's been inspiring to watch gamers around the world come together for such a worthy cause."
The hats and noisemakers disappeared on 6th April.

To help the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Team Fortress 2 developers Valve had a little hat sale. It started well. And has ended even better.
A total of $430,543.65 was raised by Team Fortress 2 players spending a bit of cash on some hats for their characters, which either says a lot about the size of TF2's player base, a lot about the appeal of hats or a lot about both.
There's also a lesson in this: developers, if you want PC gamers to stop pirating things and start spending money, don't sell them games. Sell them hats.
Hat enthusiasts get a minor but noteworthy new update for Team Fortress 2 today: the option to apply a flowing mullet to the Engineer class with the "Big Country" wearable item. Nine pieces of headgear, including googly eyes for the Pyro and a detective's cap for the Spy, are joined by one teddy bear.
If you like your Team Fortress 2 accessories made by the community and served ten at a time, fire up Steam and head to the Mann Co. store.
