March / April 2022 Condo Contest (IN PROGRESS)
Hey everyone!
This month's contest is another structure building contest!
As always, feel free to interpret that how you see fit. There is no theme, so you can build any kind of building you want and have fun with it!
Also, feel free to expand on preexisting Condos! Want to add another floor to the default Condo, build a shed in the backyard of the House Condo, or have other additions in mind? Go for it!
The deadline to submit entries is April 10th, 2022 at 11:59 PM CT.
macdguy has been working on improving controller support.
Controller support is coming along nicely. The backend for controller systems is all setup and finalized now. Adding controller support to various menus is pretty complex as it's case by case.
For example, in Zombie Massacre, controller support had to be coded to be intuitive and select the first possible upgrade when highlighting while using controller, then highlight the unlock button for you.
There's also a bunch of minor changes for each menu to handle which buttons should be active and which should not, etc. Luckily the system made now handles all of this with ease, but we still have to go through each menu and think about how the controller will highlight each part of the menus.
Controller Support: Zombie Massacre Menu
Zombie Massacre
Johanna finished working on Zombie Massacre: Acrophobia.
macdguy helped get Zombie Massacre: Acrophobia ready for release. He made changes to the Mercenary class by removing "Focus Shoot" and replacing it with the "Drone Buddy". Drone Buddy will follow the player while shooting at zombies around them. He also worked on adding controller support to the menu.
Sketchman finished working on achievement icons for Zombie Massacre: Acrophobia.
Zombie Massacre: Drone Buddy
Third Party Plushies / Statues
JJosh has been working on the Third Party Plushies we've talked about in the past. We're hoping very soon to have these released, and available to obtain in the Arcade.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day this weekend, starting this Friday and ending on this Sunday. This Casino-based event features better rewards, less "nothings", and slightly increased jackpot odds. This event applies to all slot based machines (sorry Double or Nothing fans). The odds were increased from last year's St. Patrick's Day events.
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day today, don't forget to decorate with a bunch of St. Patrick Day themed items in the Celebrations store!
Keep your eye out for future events that multiply your rewards for playing the game! Have fun at the slots!

Condo browsing now has a physical location! Join friends’ and public players’ Condos through the Condo Hub, located in the Tower. There are 68 doorways that display all currently open Condos, options to enter your own Condo, and a directory list to easily find your friends or active Condos.
You can connect to the Condo Hub through any Plaza or through the menu!
The Condo Hub features different styled doorways based on the Condo map that is being hosted.
Friends-only Condos also show up in the Condo Hub, making it much easier to find your friend's Condos!
Don't worry, you can also adjust your Canvas settings in the hub as well.
We put a lot of effort into making this Condo Hub immersive and fun! When Condos are busy, you'll notice different sounds and visuals to represent that! This is part of our goal to connect more areas of the game together, rather than keeping them separated into menus.

Developer Stream: Connectivity Plans + Condo Hub
Last week, we showed off our future plans for more connectivity in Tower Unite on a developer livestream. As part of these plans, we showed off the new Condo Hub, which will be in the next update.
The Condo Hub is connected to all Plaza servers, and can be accessed from the Main Menu and Pause Menu.
Developer Stream VOD
Condo Hub
Workshop Condo Video Rental
A future addition to the Condo Hub will be a Workshop Condo Video Rental Store (name pending). This rental store will serve a similar purpose to the Condo Hub, but will instead be focused around Workshop Condos.
Players and their friends can browse among the different cassettes, each of which is a Workshop Condo, organized in different isles by "New Releases", "Popular", and a "Random" selection.
Once you and your friends have made a selection, bring the cassette to a terminal which will feature a teleporter pad, which will bring you and your friends to that selected workshop condo.
We'll have more to show as development progresses.
Johanna started working on the Workshop Condo Video Rental store.
