We've created a forum post asking the community for suggestions on how we can improve gameplay for players with certain conditions such as colorblindness, dyslexia, or anything else that might affect a players ability to use the standard presentation and controls of the game.

Johanna worked on an overhaul of the furniture store.
Wheezwer continued working on the new Plaza signage.
Will continued working on music and sound fixes for the Plaza (fixing holes in the map where there weren't footstep sounds).

Condo
Johanna started converting props from the Minigolf map, Sweet Tooth into Condo items.
Madmijk continued working on improving the instruments and adding MIDI support. He improved the listening experience for other players with instrument items, as demonstrated in the video below. The notes are now played more neatly in the rhythm that the playing user played them.

Ball Race
Johanna started a Ball Race, Paradise art pass, updating the course art, rock work, and color palette.
macdguy fixed a bunch of long standing bugs. He added a little crown on the top left HUD to indicate if the player has died or not (useful for No Death Achievements). The HUD was upgraded and optimized. The pickup system was recoded to fix issues with replication. The bonus stage now indicates how many melons are left to be collected and will end when all of the melons have been collected.

The new and improved Monorail system is ready to take you to all of your favorite destinations around the Plaza. Hop on at one of the four stops and see the island from a new perspective while you ride in style to the stores and games.

Appearance items can now be bought at the new store: Tower Threads! There you can preview appearance items before you purchase them. You can also activate the appearance menu using the store’s high tech equipment! All appearance items that were previously on the appearance menu have now been moved to the new store.

macdguy worked on the Monorail, finishing the setup and creating a screen to show where the Monorail currently is on the track. He also created the Appearance Store UI.
Wheezwer finished working on concept art for Suite Suites, as well as some concept art for various small changes in the main lobby. She also worked on dialogue for the Appearance Store and continued working on the Horse Betting Casino game.

November Quality of Life and Cove Update (0.14.6.0)
Yesterday, we released Update 0.14.6.0 which brought an end to the Halloween Events. This update also included numerous bug fixes and quality of life changes.
We're continuing to work on stabilizing the backend systems and fix issues that cropped up with the initial migration. You can follow our status updates here.

macdguy worked on adding a masked mode to canvases. This mode clips out the transparent parts of the image, and only the opaque area is rendered. He also added a stroke count to the Minigolf milestone, added comment support to Canvases, and created a Workshop download progress bar UI.

YARRRRRR! Treasure Cove has received a polishing update! This includes changes to course walls, updated art for the pirate ships, updated textures, and new lighting. And a skull! Head on over to Minigolf to check out all of the changes.
Steam Migration
This update will begin the process of moving all of your Tower Unite progress from Steam to our own systems. Your EXP and achievement progress will be transferred upon starting up the game. You will have a couple of prompts that will ask you to confirm your data migration.
Note: Achievements will still be synced with Steam and will continue to appear on your profile, but they will also be backed up on our systems. Inventory will be migrated at a later date.
Upcoming Thanksgiving Events!!
This week, we'll be doing a couple of double EXP and double ticket events. Wednesday & Thursday will be a double Fishing EXP event and Friday through Sunday will be a double Arcade ticket event. We'll announce both of these events on Wednesday!
Thanksgiving Items!
To celebrate turkey day, we have added a few turkey items to Celebrations and the Appearance store! Grab a Turkey Pet, Turkey Dinner, Turkey Hat, Turkey On Shoulder, and Flying Turkey Pet to join in on the festivities!
Workshop Browser: Trending, New, and Popular
In this update, we've made navigating the Workshop items a little easier. We have now added buttons to quickly browse Trending, New, and Popular Workshop addons.
Canvas Masked Mode
Canvases now have a new mode: masked mode. Masked mode will allow you to have transparent canvas images that have lighting, shadows, and window support. We posted a couple examples of these in our latest developer log.
Canvas Improvements: Colorable Frames and Comments
In this update, you can now color the canvas frames and set comments on your canvases. These comments will display in the center of the screen when a player looks at the canvas, allowing you to tell stories or detail what the canvas is to players.

Minigolf: Treasure Cove Art/Polishing Pass
EXP and Achievement migration from Steam to our own backend. EXP will only be on our systems now (and backed up hourly). Achievements will sync with Steam, but our systems will keep track of them (and back them up hourly).
Added new Thanksgiving items to Celebrations and Appearance: Turkey Pet, Turkey Dinner, Turkey Hat, Turkey On Shoulder, Flying Turkey Pet
Added new items to the Toy Store: Flying Toy Robot Pet, Toy Robot Wings
New EXP system that no longer relies on Steam's API services
Improved light flicker setting on light items. Added Flicker 2, Flicker 3, Caustic, Dots, and Spots to light functions
Added a "hide unlocked achievements" button in the collection book that lets you focus on achievements you have yet to unlock
You can now use the camera item in any location of the Plaza, but sounds and effects will be muted indoors
Arcade - Ice Cave: Added new feedback effects and a better trail to keep track of where the balls are going
Workshop browser now has quick filter buttons for Trending, New, and Popular to help navigate all the workshop items quicker
Minigolf golfball milestone: Added stroke HUD to keep track of your putts. Stroke count resets when you teleport as well
Minigolf golfball milestone: Added reset button that will put your ball back to where you originally spawned it

October 2021 Halloween Condo Contest NOW OVER!

We've created a forum post asking the community for suggestions on how we can improve gameplay for players with certain conditions such as colorblindness, dyslexia, or anything else that might affect a players ability to use the standard presentation and controls of the game.

Plaza
Johanna continued working on the the re-implementation of the monorail, finishing the stations themselves and the entrances for the east and west stores. She's now working on the stations for the Boardwalk/Arcade area, and the Casino/Bowling area.
JJosh continued working on the new Plaza NPCs, as well as some plush items.
macdguy started working on Casino Phase 2. He also started working on moving Poker from a 2D menu to a 3D menu, more suitable for VR.
Wheezwer worked on concept art for the stores.
Will continued working on sounds and music for the shooting gallery ride.
Caboose700 continued working on migrating user information (exp, achievements, items) off of Steam.
Lifeless continued working on the Ball Race, Midori remaster.
macdguy continued worked on fixing some long standing bugs that have been reported on the forums. He also made an updated UI for guiding users through the Steam migration.
madmijk continued working on the playable guitar.
Sketchman continued working on migrating user information (exp, achievements, items) off of Steam.
Wheezwer worked on concept art for new items.

Wheezwer continued working on art for the shooting gallery ride, as well as the concept art for the Celebrations NPC.

Thank you again to everyone who participated in our survey. We had a whopping 6,700+ responses!
As we've done in the past, the theme for October's contest is Halloween!
Feel free to interpret that how you like, whether that means making a haunted forest maze, a creepy basement, a chill Halloween party, or anything else, so long as it follows the rules and reasonably suits the theme.
The contest has been extended due to the Steam issues we were experiencing, and now will end on November 5th, 2021 at 11:59 PM CT.
