Hello everyone, and welcome to the Weekly Dev Log for February 22nd, 2021, detailing all the changes that have happened since February 16th, 2021. Note: Devs that don't appear in the weekly log are not necessarily away or not doing work, but may be working on things currently not announced or backend work that doesn't need to be detailed.
Last week, we released Update 0.13.4.1, which fixed bugs and included various improvements. This update also introduced the very first Double Weekend Event, our first event being Doubled Tickets in the Arcade. There will be more and more events that will occur throughout the year, so stay tuned!
We also released a smaller hotfix, Update 0.13.4.2, which fixed some issues with Billiards.
We've also started working on the next update, Update 0.13.4.3, which will include numerous fixes and improvements to Condo Building. You can view all the details of the update here.
February 2021 Condo Contest
This month, we're running a "Night Out (or In)" themed condo contest. This contest will end on March 1st, 2021. First place winner will take home at least 1,000,000 units, and all participants may be rewarded 75,000 units! You can read the details here.

We've created a forum post asking the community for suggestions on how we can improve gameplay for players with certain conditions such as colorblindness, dyslexia, or anything else that might affect a players ability to use the standard presentation and controls of the game.

Experience the wonders of double ticket earning this weekend starting this Friday and ending on this Sunday.
From now on, Tower Unite will occasionally feature events that multiply your rewards for playing the game! This weekend is double ticket weekend, so hop on over to the Arcade and shower yourself in prizes.

This hot fix addresses several issues you've reported. We got more fixes in the works as well.
Changes
Canvas whitelist/blacklist will now always apply regardless of canvas parental modes, removing the need for different canvas parental modes all together, simplifying the canvas parental controls for everyone. Trusting/untrusting players is still required
Dark: Made slightly less dark
Virus: Adjusted speeds and friction a bit
Cleaned up Appearance menu a bit, making it easier to select upgrades for games
Redid icons for several items (over 100), including all accessories, RC items, instruments, and more
Added a tutorial when clicking on Visit Condos that explains about custom content in Condos
Improved look of chat rules and how to report to make it easier for people to read
Optimized main menu, drastically reducing GPU usage
Inventory UI: Search bar now is much larger and easier to find
Inventory UI: You now must click on the bottom inventory to open the drawer for it (instead of just hovering over) to prevent the inventory from accidentally opening
Inventory UI: Made the Refresh and Tower Express shortcut buttons much more noticeable
Inventory UI: Hot bar no longer closes automatically when right clicking on items
Zombie Massacre: Improved zombie ragdolls (fixing jiggling issues and adding more weight to them)
Billiards: Reduced point deduction when scratching (from -200 to -50)
Bug Fixes
Took measures to improve desync issues for Minigolf and Ball Race platforms
Fixed voice chat volume being muffled while players are in seats
Inventory UI: Fixed a bug where the hot bar would automatically close while interacting with the hot bar
Dark: Fixed certain floating orbs colliding with the camera
Minigolf: Fixed Flower Hat scale
Fixed some lighting issues in Pine Valley
Laser Tag: Fixed spawn point issues that led to players spawning at the origin of the Plaza
Laser Tag: Recharging no longer requires you to use the recharge station, instead just being near a recharge station will recharge you

Update 0.13.4.1
Once Update 0.13.4.0 was released, we started working on Update 0.13.4.1. This update will include an overhaul to the Condo canvas system, which now will have a default (player-customizable) list of image hosting providers. Players can choose to add or remove image provider domains to this list, and will be warned when entering a condo that has canvases that are hosted on image hosts that aren't trusted. Johanna worked on the sign for "Prismatic", created the machine model for another coin pusher named "Coin River", and worked on the machine model for "Ultimate Cow Wheel".
Wheezwer worked on art for the various coin pusher machines.

macdguy worked on overhauling the Condo Canvas System. The new system will include a default list of approved image hosts, which can be modified by the player if they choose to add or remove domains. Upon entering a condo, the player will be warned of any canvases which are hosted on image host that isn't in their approved list.

The first nine holes of a new Minigolf map are now available to play! In Minigolf: Dark, players will navigate a shadowy, glowing forest. You can use light sources scattered around the course, or take your turns strategically as you watch your fellow players disappear into the shadows.
New Inventory Tools
In this update we also added two new inventory tools: Transformer tool and the (Un)Locker tool. The transformer tool is useful for swiftly changing position, rotation, and scale of items in one click. You can add transforms or set transforms to each item. The (Un)Locker tool is a tool that lets you quickly look at an item and lock or unlock it from being edited.

Added new Minigolf map: Dark (first 9 holes)
Condo: Added the Transformer tool for swiftly manipulating the position, rotation, and scale of items
Condo: Added a Lock tool for quickly locking/unlocking items
Collection Book: Added a back button on the leaderboards menu to go back to the leaderboards of the map that was selected

Condo scoreboard now automatically stays open when you enter condo settings, regardless if you have the tab key held down or not

macdguy worked on improvements for the collection book. There is now a "Map Overview" tab, which will show the achievements for any given map instantly when clicked. There is also now a tab for Hidden and Holiday items, showing each of these items and their descriptions and icons.

Madmijk made a Condo Item Lock tool, to easily lock Condo items, and started working on fixing some bugs with "Planetary Piano".
Sketchman continued working on fixes and optimizations to the Workshop system, fixing some lingering issues with the changes released in the last update. He added colorable effects to the Ladder item, as well as fixing some issues where the climb targets would not save. He also started working on achievement icons for the newer achievements.
Wheezwer worked on polishing the foliage.

2020 Year in Review
To keep up the tradition of Year in Review posts, we wanted to compile an overview of everything we accomplished at PixelTail Games in 2020.
2020 was a long year for all of us, and we're very grateful for all of the support everyone has given us throughout it. We wish you all the best in 2021, and we will continue work on getting Tower Unite polished, finished, and out of early access.
Last week, we released Update 0.13.3.0 which added the new Accelerate map, Wishy Washy Waterfall! The update also included various gameplay changes across Tower Unite, and updated lighting across all of the Little Crusaders maps. You can read more about this update here.
Today, we released Hotfix 0.13.3.1, which included several improvements to the Arcade, along with bug fixes to Virus and Accelerate. You can read more about that hotfix here.
Shortly after, we released another Hotfix 0.13.3.2, which fixed a bug with Workshop Materials not appearing in the editor. You can read about that hotfix here.

JJosh has been working on implementing third-party plushes. The latest plushes JJosh has been working on are "Giraffe" by @jaxamoto and "Little Miss Jelly" by @veronicandjelly. These plushes will be introduced with Arcade: Phase 2.
