Tower Unite - MacDGuy


This hotfix addresses many issues with the media player.
The Plaza has also shed its winter snow.

Changes
  • Added a new item: Theater Screen
  • Summer Plaza is back
  • Optimization to Plaza was done
  • Added the ability to change moon angle and moon lighting intensity
  • Added quick use buttons to quickly toggle into night or day time instead of fumbling around with the sliders
  • Changed Condo settings menu to no longer require holding C to interact with it
  • Added a return to main settings page to Condo settings menu
  • Updated the look of the Condo settings menu
  • Slight UI touch up on the store UI
  • Added text that informs players of the item scale when the item is scaled down for the pedestal

Bug Fixes
  • Major: Fixed issue where if you turn off the media player and turn it back on again, you couldn't add videos to it
  • Major: Fixed issue where you wouldn't be able to interact with multiple media players
  • Fixed player models not setting correctly for Bowling and Ball Race
  • Fixed Smooth Dirt having a massive sun and moon
  • Fixed a fog issue with Condo windows
  • Fixed flashlight in third person being offset
  • Fixed a bug where changing day night would not happen instantly for the condo owner (which made it hard to preview what the change will be)
  • Fixed chat line not wrapping properly for repeated characters
  • Fixed media player text elements not being clipped properly
  • Added missing water volume to Highrise pool
  • Fixed emote icon scale in Little Crusaders
  • Fixed FOV resetting when switching to third person mode
  • Minigolf - Treasure Cove: Fixed bad lightmaps on hole 15
  • Minigolf - Treasure Cove: Fixed hole 17 moving hole reported issues
  • Minigolf - Treasure Cove: Fixed hole 10 issue where you could occasionally fall off the tightrope section
  • Minigolf - Emission: Fixed hole 17 out of bounds issue
  • Fixed pets in the Toy Store clipping through the store pedestal
  • Fixed a few more cases of stuttering when synchronously loading items that became out of network range

Tower Unite - MacDGuy
Another hotfix that addresses many reported issues.

Note: For those who have multi-monitor setups, please be aware the game may start on the wrong screen after applying this patch. We have added a new graphics setting that will allow you to set the default monitor the game displays on. Once you set your default monitor in the graphics setting, it'll remember that setting the next time you start up the game.

Changes
  • Christmas events are now over
  • Added event calendar and rules board to Plaza in the Transit Station
  • Reduced load times on the menu by removing the 3D background
  • Added default monitor selection as a graphic setting (for multi-monitor setups)
  • Condo map list no longer uses a horizontal scrollbar and will tile the maps properly (for those on 16:9 720p/1080p, you should see all the Condo maps at once now)
  • Improved the flashlight (no longer clips with nearby walls and is a lot more smooth)

  • Reduced networking size for inventory hotbar items with the intention to fix full hot bars not working while in Plaza
  • Fixed an issue where FOV settings would reset when another player joins your server
  • Fixed mouse sensitivity resetting sometimes

  • Optimization: Highrise Tower in the distance was too detailed and caused performance issues
  • Fixed glass when viewed from the inside removing fog effects from the entire map (effects Highrise and other maps that use windows a lot)
  • Fixed Canvas Statue sprites rendering through water shaders (such as Underwater condo)
  • Fixed Canvas Statue sprites rendering through translucent things
  • Fixed Canvas normal map missing
  • Fixed underwater effects not working in first person
  • Fixed a grid box being visible in Highrise
  • Fixed a bug when you click off the splash screen, you'd lose input on the menu and have to click again to interact with the menu
  • Fixed a bug with the appearance UI that prevented certain resolutions from being able to interact with it
  • Fixed super low poly LOD being set on appearance character in the menu if you had view distance set to low
  • Fixed appearance editor in the menu having terrible lighting, making it hard to see certain effects and also it lacked shadows on the character
  • Fixed certain number UI inputs (stairs, poker bets) having float values

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!

Most of us are back from our vacations which means FULL STEAM AHEAD on new content for Tower Unite in 2018.

The team is currently hard at work on finishing the 0.4.0.3 patch to fix those pesky regression bugs that were introduced during our upgrade to Unreal Engine 4.18.
We should have the patch ready within the next week.

Once the patch is released, the entire team is going to buckle down and start work on the next Game World for Tower Unite, Zombie Massacre. Zak will also be continuing development of Steam Workshop support in tandem with Zombie Massacre.

We are also going to reorganize our public Trello over the next couple days so that it better reflects our plans for 2018. We’ve started using a new system internally to help us keep organized and super focused. However we will continue to keep the public Trello in sync with internal development.

We also updated to Unreal Engine 4.18.2 (we were on 4.18.1).

    Thank you all for helping us by testing the beta branch and giving us information to solve this!

  • Fixed not compatible screen full screen resolutions showing up on the resolution dropdown. Every resolution shown should now be compatible with your system

Tower Unite - MacDGuy
A quick fix that addresses some issues you've all been experiencing with the latest update. Please note these are all client only changes (the version number will not increase in the menu, but the build number will change to 2396915)

Changes
  • Minigolf ball now draws a shadow version of itself if there is an object blocking the camera from seeing the ball
  • Minigolf name tags now draw through world geometry (will never be clipped by objects)
  • Minigolf name tag does not show up for yourself, only other players
  • Minigolf: Optimized Treasure Cove
  • Ball Race scoreboard is now sorted by time

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the game to hang (freeze)
  • Ball Race - Midori: Fixed Midori being really bright
  • Minigolf: Fixed golf ball collision sounds not adhering to volume settings
  • Minigolf: Fixed voice sounds not adhering to volume settings
  • Minigolf: Fixed key prompts saying "UNBOUND"
  • Minigolf: Fixed bright rocks in Alpine cave section
