Hello!

Without further ado, let’s turn our attention to the main character of the artwork and the latest hottest topic of discussion: the “Ronin” armoured car. Its arrival is highly anticipated and we’re happy to announce that it will be here sometime in April! Now let’s take a peek into the upcoming update.

Many survivors are looking forward to April, but not just because of the traditional Fool’s Day hijinks. There are also the intense battles of the Spring Mayhem ahead! This time we will update the armoured cars and their roles, adding new flavours and tactics to the battles. Like with the “Dronapocalypse” event, one more surprise mode will be added. Get ready for a crazy dash!

We’re also actively working on expanding the functionality of the Game Center. It may not be long before you’ll be able to share your creations with other players, and the best of the best may even make it onto the world map!

You can download this and other artworks from the “Wallpapers” section on our official website.

Hello, survivors!

The “Frostbite Assault” season isn’t over yet, and we’re eager to make something new for you. So we decided to add a little, just a liiiiitle FIRE. Welcome to the new season called “Firestarters strike back”! This is serious. Odegon will not forgive any jokes. And you can’t insult her, the Wasteland won’t survive another cataclysm.

Let’s take a look at what awaits you in this update.

Increased size of teams in missions
Console players have only recently received the ability to fight on a common battlefield, so we decided to take it a step further. Now, survivors from all platforms can participate in 32 vs 32 battles. We’re not sure your mind can handle it, but nothing can stop us now!

A common queue for armoured cars and armoured aircraft
To evaluate the scale of the new battles, we removed all the “armoured cars only” modes. Now, armoured cars and armoured aircraft will ALWAYS fight together. We advise you to look at the weather map and look up at the sky before you go into battle.

Crossplay for PC
Crossplay is cool, for sure. But we’ve received a lot of questions like: “What about PC? Will there be crossplay for this platform?” And now we can say: “Yes”! Through complex calculations and unique solutions, we were able to add the possibility of crossplay between Steam Deck and ASUS Rog Ally. We don’t really know why.

New Lucky paws prize drawing options
You have highly praised the “Wasteland of Wonders” promotion, where you could win valuable prizes for the earned “Lucky paws”. We have decided to expand the pool of prizes and in the near future, the prize drawing will include bans for 1, 3, 7 and 14 days. If you’ve been hooked by the game and all this time you’ve wanted to touch the grass, this prize drawing is perfect for you. And if you lose, you’ll have to play again: while others are banned, you have to level up.

Lucky paws in clan modes
Also in this update, we decided to find another use for the paws. Now players will be able to spend them in Clan Wars as well. The mechanics are simple: each player sends Lucky paws to a common team pool. Whichever team collects the most Paws this way wins the match. We are confident that this change will make Clan Wars more accessible to all players.

Friendly game.
The newcomers say that our game is not very friendly towards them. We have analyzed their feedback, and now we expect that Crossout will be much friendlier for them. For this purpose, we changed the names of certain game modes: “Raid” became “Cutie little raid”, “Patrol” became “Sweet patrol”, and the modes “Get the scrap metal!”, “Get the wires!” and “Get the batteries!” turned into “Get the cute scrap metal!”, “Get the cute wires!” and “Get those little sweet batteries!”. Also, just in case, the “Clan wars” mode was renamed to “Sandbox scuffle”. This is only the first step, in the future we can change the names of the parts as well if you like these changes.

Balance change
Every day we receive numerous messages from you where you say that balance needs to be corrected. It’s just impossible to avoid these comments. After much thought and speculation as to why you don’t like it, we have finally managed to find the perfect option to solve this problem.

Here’s what the Balance used to look like:

And this is what it looks like now:

We hope that you are now satisfied.

Parser
We revert all changes applied to the “Parser” shotgun to the state when it first appeared in the game.
  • Durability increased from 290 to 320 pts.
  • Reload time reduced from 2.8 sec. to 2 sec.
  • The time to fully charge a shot reduced from 1.5 sec to 1 sec.
  • The time to hold a full charge before firing increased from 1.5 sec to 2 sec.
  • Added the ability to purchase weapons in the in-game store for crosscrowns.
Community manager’s comment: one of our coworkers has been screaming about Parser being imbalanced for so long that we decided to bring it back to its original state so he would stop screaming and finally reach level 30.

Comment of the lead developer: Alright, I’m going to code it.

Crossout merch store
Always wanted to wear merch with your favourite character? Or even cuddle with this very character while you sleep? We believe that dreams should come true, so we’re opening our own merch store! We won’t spoil the surprise and won’t tell you about the entire selection we have for you just yet, but at the very least you'll be able to purchase a dakimakura with Scar AB! How can you resist something like that?

You will be able to see all this beauty and buy it in all shopping malls around the Wasteland in 2055.

To brighten up your wait, we are giving all players a gift when they enter the game — 1 unit of Engineers badges, Scrap Metal, Copper, Wires, Plastic, Electronics, Batteries and Uranium ore!

Hello!

Today we are launching the “Wasteland of Wonders” special. Many of you are already familiar with it. The participants will have a chance to win one of the valuable prizes solely for actively playing the game!
  • During the event, all players have access to daily challenges, and for completing each of them they receive a unique resource — “Canned meat”.
  • On Sunday, a series of prize drawings will begin among everyone who submitted the accumulated cans. The winners are determined randomly. The more cans you accumulate and submit, the higher your chances of winning.
  • In case of victory in one of the stages, the player receives a prize. In this case, one can is withdrawn from the total number of those submitted to the drawing, and the rest continue to participate in the next stages.
  • At the end of the special, all accumulated cans will be withdrawn from the game without the possibility of exchanging them for anything. So don’t hoard the cans and submit them all for the prize drawings!
Please note that this special will be active from April 1, 00:00 GMT, to April 14, 12:00 GMT. The prize drawings will take place on April 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 17:00 GMT. To participate in them, you need to submit your accumulated cans in advance.

Hello!

The traditional Easter rush is back! Until April 7 inclusive, you can find all the Easter eggs hidden in your garages and get unique rewards for the “Easter bunny” medals (if you haven’t received these medals before).

Finding hidden Easter eggs is available to all players without exception (even if they have found them before). In order to get the “Easter bunny” medals, you need to find all the hidden eggs: the progress from old events is not taken into account.

There will also be a chain of special challenges available for everyone to complete, and for completing each of them you will receive commemorative rewards, including the highly anticipated permanent hologram “Ears”!
  • Find and break 8 Easter eggs in the garage. Reward: “Easter egg”.
  • Win 12 battles in PvP missions with the “Ears” hologram mounted. Reward: paint “Easter red”.
  • Destroy the 10 “Ears” holograms on enemy cars, while having the same hologram on your own car. Reward: permanent hologram “Ears”.
Attention! Each challenge can be completed only once. The event will last until April 7 inclusive!

  • Tachi: the bonus damage perk activates only when moving faster than 90 kph.
Comment: this change affects the efficiency of the forward aimed weapons, making them less powerful than the intended side aiming setup. The average collision damage will be reduced as a result. Based on the initial statistical data, we’ve decided to implement those changes before players can obtain the weapon.
  • Borer: the ramming damage bonus reduced from 25% to 10%.
  • Buzzsaw: the ramming damage bonus reduced from 100% to 15%.
  • Mauler: the ramming damage bonus reduced from 150% to 25%.
  • Lacerator: the ramming damage bonus reduced from 50% to 25%.
  • Charybdis, Harvester: the ramming damage bonus reduced from 100% to 40%.
Comment: those changes are due to the new ramming damage mechanic. After it was reworked, the saws began dealing higher and more consistent damage while ramming.

  • Two victories are now required to complete the daily challenge in the “At gunpoint” and “Dronapocalypse” brawls instead of three.
  • Fixed a rare bug when completing the first of the two daily challenges in the “At gunpoint” brawl did not unlock the second challenge.
  • Restored the location height limit to the maps in the “Clan Wars” mode, as well as implemented various small fixes of the environmental objects on those maps.
  • Fixed a bug when losing a part during the accelerated recharge of the “Yeti” module led to speeding up the recharge process.
  • Fixed a bug causing incorrect sorting of parts by rarity at the “Crafting” workbench of the “Hidden threat” event.
  • Improved the physical model of the “P-23 Defender” machine gun.
  • Improved the model of the “RD-1 Listener” radar.
  • Improved a number of in-game texts and icons.

Hello, survivors! This is Foxy speaking. I found this onboard radio in an abandoned armoured car on the outskirts of the Valley. According to the frequency settings, this is where the radio used to be broadcast from. It was called “Voice of the Wasteland”, I think. But now that I’m here, I have something to tell you.

I don’t know if you're aware of this, but the endless invasion of the Ravagers we’ve been fighting for a long time is the result of the madness of a single man, a scientist named Lloyd. Years ago, he cruelly deceived me and the Engineers by gaining access to the technology that allowed him to control the Ravagers. Since then, he has been lying low, occasionally sending his red-eyed henchmen to attack survivors.

And recently we've been able to get a lead on him. Lloyd’s hideout is located in one of the Waderkvarn bases, from where he coordinates the attacks that have been occurring more and more often lately. The Ravagers are now being seen in places they’ve never been before. Apparently, our enemy knows we’re getting close to him and is trying to interfere and intimidate us. I’m sure that he'll soon respond even more brutally. A man like him can only lie low to unleash something truly horrible later.

I’m calling for your help. The Mentor, Hyperborea, and many survivors throughout the Valley have already joined our resistance. I am calling out to anyone who can hear me. Fire at every Ravager you see. It’s through their eyes that Lloyd is watching us. I’ll be coordinating the search via this frequency, so tune in regularly. Together, we’ll put an end to this nightmare.

Survivors! When purchasing the Dragonfly (Lite) pack, players received a non-tradable Bat cabin instead of a tradable one. We have fixed this error and replaced all these cabs with tradable ones, as it should be.

If you are among these players and have already managed to use the non-tradable version for upgrades, you will still receive the tradable Bat cabin as a compensation to your inventory.

Thank you for your understanding!

The Dronapocalypse is already knocking on the doors of your garages! This time, we’ll not only be fighting as tiny drones against big leviathans, but we’ll also get a new look at battles in the “At gunpoint” brawl! We can also expect to see the start of another event with a reward scale, a rework of ram damage and many other improvements and fixes.

April 1 brawls
This year you can expect two game modes at once, which will be replacing each other.

New brawl “At gunpoint”
Attention! The mode will be available from March 21 to March 27 inclusive, and from April 4 to April 10 inclusive!
[expand type=details]
  • “At gunpoint” is a team PvP brawl with pre-determined armoured cars.
  • Look at the battles from a fresh perspective! The brawl’s main feature is its unusual viewing angle, which simulates a first-person view.
  • In this mode you can select an armoured car from several offered and enter the battle with it. A total of 15 different armoured vehicles are available in the mode.
  • The blueprints for display are randomly selected. If you don’t manage to choose a car in the allotted time, you will automatically be given one of the offered ones.
  • The mode has respawns. Before respawning, you again need to choose the armoured car you want to continue the battle on.
  • The team that scores more points in the allotted time wins. The points are rewarded for shooting off parts and destroying opponents.
  • Battles take place on the following locations:
    • East quarter;
    • Ravagers foothold;
    • Chemical plant;
    • Sand harbour.
Special challenges
For the duration of the “At gunpoint” brawl, you will have a chain of tasks available to you every day:
  • Destroy 2 players in the brawl. Reward: 80 Engineer badges.
  • Win 3 battles in the brawl. Reward: container “Spotter’s container”. When you open the container, a random reward is issued from the list.
[/expand]
Dronapocalypse
Attention! The mode will be available from March 28 to April 3 inclusive, and from April 11 to April 17 inclusive!
[expand type=details]
  • Dronapocalypse is a team PvP brawl.
  • The team that inflicted more damage to an enemy leviathan or destroyed it wins the battle. If at the end of the battle, both leviathans have the same amount of durability, then the battle ends in a draw.
  • Battles are fought on pre-built drone vehicles.
  • This year, we have added new leviathans and drones with new weapons.
  • At the start of each battle, you are automatically given a drone with random weapons.
  • The mode has respawns. Before respawning, you again need to choose the drone you want to continue the battle on. The blueprints for display are randomly selected. If you don’t manage to choose a drone in the allotted time, you will automatically be given one of the offered ones.
  • Choose a drone wisely and take the current situation on the battlefield into account. The right choice will help you not only destroy the enemy leviathan faster, but also buy time by controlling your opponents and defending your leviathan.
  • From battle to battle, the leviathans of your or enemy team, as well as locations, may change. A total of 24 different Leviathans are prepared for the mode.
  • This year, the battles will take place at the following locations:
    • El Diablo Gorge;
    • City pond;
    • Defence line;
    • Power center;
    • Oasis.
Special challenges
For the duration of the “Dronapocalypse” brawl, you will have a chain of tasks available to you every day:
  • Deal 2000 damage in the brawl. Reward: 80 Engineer badges.
  • Win 3 battles in the brawl. Reward: container “Reward for the joke”. When you open the container, a random reward is issued from the list.
[/expand]

New event “Hidden threat”
Attention! The event will be available from March 21 to April 24 inclusive!
[expand type=details]
  • The levels and corresponding rewards are unlocked as you complete special challenges and earn event experience points.
  • Event experience points are required to unlock levels and receive rewards.
  • As part of this event, you will be receiving new challenges: 1 main and 1 additional challenge.
  • New challenges appear every day. All uncompleted daily challenges are accumulated.
  • The base event rewards are available to all players without exception. They include:
    • Coupons for factional workbenches;
    • 50 in-game coins;
    • Structural parts of the “Syndicate” faction (please note that such parts are not issued in excess of the established limit. If you have previously received these parts during the “Syndicate” season or unlocked them with Engineer badges, then these parts will not be issued again);
    • A number of stickers;
    • “Hermit’s stash” container with a CK of your choice;
    • “Scout’s container” container with a random legendary, epic, or special part;
    • Containers with resources;
    • Engineer badges.
  • All additional rewards (marked with a lock icon on a blue background) are only available to those who have purchased the “Hidden threat” pack (standard or deluxe version). Purchasing the deluxe version immediately unlocks the following 10 levels and all the rewards of the unlocked levels.
  • Purchasing the pack gives you access to:
    • Certain already produced parts;
    • Recipes for the production of certain upgraded parts on the event workbench;
    • Additional in-game coins;
    • 3 paints, a number of stickers, “Sakura” decoration, “Titanic” car horn, and the “Fukigayeshi” decor;
    • Storage expansion;
    • For each subsequent level starting from 51, you will receive 120 in-game coins as reward.
Attention! The “Hidden threat” packs will be available from March 21 to April 24 inclusive!
[/expand]

  • A number of locations have been optimized for battles with armoured aircraft and added to the rotation:
    • Founders Canyon;
    • Desert valley;
    • Ravagers foothold;
    • Broken arrow;
    • Fortress.
  • For the locations listed above, the maps with their image have been updated.

New ram damage mechanics
You can read more about the changes in our announcement here.
[expand type=details]
Why were the previous mechanics changed?
The implementation of the previous ram damage mechanics had a number of problems that caused it to be unstable in combat conditions. We won’t go into technical details, but here are a few examples:
  • when colliding at certain angles, enemy parts may not be recognized and the damage will “go nowhere”;
  • ramming at high speed may result in the colliding part not taking damage, while the parts behind it will take damage;
  • the calculation of damage value has an overly strong dependence on speed, which can cause damage to be massive when using boosters.
Therefore, ramming is too often unpredictable for players and can either critically damage the enemy or not damage them at all (especially at high speeds).

We would like to present you with an alternative mechanic, which should work much more consistently in terms of damage implementation (locating the parts) as well as having a narrower range of damage values.

The essence of the new mechanics
The new mechanics are very similar to how the “big” projectiles deal damage. Now we will simplistically describe how it works and what it depends on.

Now, after ramming, an invisible “cylinder” is formed at the point of contact. Enemy parts within this cylinder are sorted as they get farther away from the point of contact, then damage is applied to them sequentially until it is spent or the parts in the queue run out. It works the same way on the enemy’s side as well. This search algorithm eliminates the first 2 problems described in the previous section.

The diameter of the cylinder is individual for both players and depends on the masses of their armoured vehicles. The higher the mass, the larger the “area” of damage will be.

The height of the cylinder and its direction are identical for both players and depend on the difference of their speed vectors (the values of the speeds and their directions relative to each other are taken into account).

Here are a few examples. Let’s say the speed of the first player is 100 km/h and the speed of the second player is 50 km/h:
  • Players move towards each other in the same line. During collision, the “cylinders” will be directed along the same line, a speed value of 150 km/h (100+50) will go into the calculation of the heights.
  • Player 1 catches up with player 2. As in the first case, they move along the same line. The cylinders will again be directed along this line, but the height will be less, because the speed of 50 km/h (100-50) will go into its calculation.
  • The speeds of the players are directed at an angle relative to each other. Depending on the angle, the height calculation will range from 50 (the minimum possible when one player catches up with the other) to 150 (a “head-on” collision). The direction of the “cylinder” will also depend on the direction of both speeds.

The final damage value is calculated depending on the mass of the vehicle and how much the speeds of the armoured cars have changed after the collision. For example, if the collision occurred tangentially and the speeds hardly changed, then the total damage will be minor. If the speed of at least one of the players has changed significantly after the collision, the damage will also increase significantly.

Therefore, dealing and taking retaliatory damage will be unique for different vehicles and game situations. Due to the fact that when two players collide, both damage and possible depth of damage calculations the same resulting speed and mass of both players will be taken into account, slower and heavier vehicles will deal more damage, often dealing it in the outer area, while lighter and faster ones will deal less damage, but mostly “along the line” into the interior.

Changes to parts
Due to the changes described above, the parameters of the parts related to the new mechanics have been revised (as the parts with resistance to ram damage now block damage more effectively, and the bonuses to ram damage are more consistently implemented).

Resistances
Prior to the update, ramming and melee damage resistance used to be a single parameter. We have split them into 2 separate ones to allow for more flexible configuration.

Bumpers
The parameters in brackets are the parameters that existed before and the parameters outside the brackets are the current ones.
