[Announcement] Crossout Art — February 2053

This month promises to be rich in interesting events. Our February artwork is dedicated to the new season “Polar lights”, which starts at the very beginning of the month and introduces a new faction “Hyperborea” — the first guests from the north in the Valley. New parts and decorations will be waiting for you starting from February 2!

But the “Polar lights” season is not the only interesting event of this month! Visionaries from all corners of the Wasteland are warning of some kind of “red eyes” that keep appearing in their visions more and more often. Stay vigilant, survivors! It seems that the enemy never sleeps.

[Announcement]Minor changes for parts and the upcoming update’s livestream

The update week has begun, which means that very soon we will be able to take part in the new season. Today we would like to share with you the information about the changes in planned balance tweaks, which were made based on the results of testing, as well as a small change in the perk of the new cabin “Huginn”.

Cabin “Huginn”

Everyone who has read the third part of our blog knows that the perk of the new cabin will boost the cooldown time of overheated weapons. Initially, we planned to balance this boost by temporarily reducing the cabin’s speed and power. But, according to the results of internal tests, we came to the conclusion that this is not necessary at the moment.

As a result, the cabin’s perk will generate up to 3 charges (1 for each overheated weapon mounted on the car), which will speed up the weapon cooldown, without any negative effects for the cabin’s owner.

Changes in balance tweaks

Miniguns “MG13 Equalizer” and “MG14 Arbiter”

Mass testing and our internal tests have shown that the changes in optimal and maximum range for the “Equalizer” and “Arbiter” are insufficient. Therefore, we will also slightly reduce the damage they deal:

Equalizer: -5% damage.
Arbiter: - 8% damage.

Hovers

The effect of the vehicle’s mass and the amount of hovers on the vehicle’s acceleration has been increased.

AM-5 Avalanche

Projectile explosion now deals 100% more damage to the player’s armoured car.

“Scouting” contest

Pshh… Come in! Message from HQ: Hyperborean base was found! … pshhh… we're going on a raid… pshh… everything that you found is yours …pshh… over.

Rules:

This game is a variation of the well-known “Battleship” game, where participants need to name the coordinates of the point where they think a container is located.
These coordinates are located on the intersection of the two axes of the playing field. For instance: G7 or E10.
Each container occupies 1 cell of the playing field.
Containers can be located on ANY cell of the field.
In order to find a container, you need to write the coordinate of the selected point as a comment to this post. Each player can write 2 coordinates in one comment.
The game will last until 31.01.2022, 09:00 GMT.
We will reveal container locations with a winners list.
The player who first guessed the container’s coordinates in the comments is the one who found it. All subsequent comments with this coordinate are not counted.
If the participant guesses the coordinates of two different containers, then he will receive both rewards.
Don’t forget to write your in-game nickname and the platform in the same comment.

[Developer blog] New faction “Hyperborea”. Part 3

Welcome to the final part of our development blog! The update with the new season and the “Hyperborea” faction is very close! Today we will find out what else the mysterious guests from the north are preparing for us.

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.

But, first of all, we’d like to note that the legendary cabin with the drone control perk announced in the first part of the blog will change its type and become “medium” instead of “heavy”.

Epic heavy machine gun “Gungnir”

An unusual weapon. A machine gun for those who don’t like machine guns. The opposite of a machine gun. You can go on and on thinking up all sorts of names for “Gungnir”, but let’s take a closer look at this machine gun instead.

Like “Nothung”, it’s a fairly small weapon in height. Low rate of fire, high one-time damage and durability. The machine gun rotates freely around its axis. And the most interesting thing is its perk.

As the machine gun heats up (i.e., as it fires), its rate of fire decreases slightly, but the spread becomes almost unnoticeable. You shoot a little slower, but fairly accurately even at long range. All those who don't like machine guns for the mechanics of spread increase during continuous firing should definitely try out “Gungnir”! And fans of firing their machine guns will discover this type of weapon from a completely new perspective.

If we compare “Gungnir” with other epic machine guns (“Spectre-2”, “ST-M26 Tackler”, “M-29 Protector”), then the new weapon has higher damage, range and accuracy.

Epic heavy cabin “Huginn”

It’s time to reveal the secret of the very cabin that we talked about in previous blogs. By the way, many of you have identified its main features quite accurately!

This cabin will appeal to the fans of heavy vehicles with any weapon that has the mechanics of weapon overheating and cooling.

But first, let’s talk about its parameters. This is the lightest, and also, albeit not by much, but the fastest cabin among all the “heavy” cabins. Despite the smaller mass, its durability is comparable to such cabins as the “Humpback”, “Savior” and “Icebox”. Of course, such parameters require certain restrictions: among all the heavy cabins, “Huginn” will have the lowest parameters of tonnage and mass limit. However, considering its perk, the vehicles with this cabin probably won’t carry an unbearable amount of parts.

Each overheated weapon used in conjunction with this cabin will activate 1 special charge (there can be a maximum 3 charges). Each charge, at the cost of temporarily reducing the power and speed of the cabin, will boost the cooling of weapons, and the effects of several charges will stack. We recommend everyone to try combining this cabin and a cooler in battle — you won’t be disappointed! We’d also like to remind you about the interesting combination of “Huginn” and “Nothung”, which we described in the previous devblog.

The cabin has a very convenient form-factor: 8 “pins” wide, about 7 “pins” in length and only 4 “pins” in height. In addition to its shape, it has a lot of attachment points that will allow you to protect it from all sides.

New CKs

The next season will also include a number of new CKs. Introducing: the incredible “Hammerhead fish” for the “Omnibox” cabin and the first in-game customization kit for a drone, “CK Kobold” for the “Fuse” drone!

The update is scheduled for next week. And on Tuesday, January 31, we will hold an official livestream, where we will show you the new items and important changes.

[Special] Reduced upgrade cost for weapons and hardware!

Good news for those who would like to upgrade their parts, but couldn’t find them on the New Year’s workbench! Only from January 25 to January 29 inclusive, you will be able to upgrade your weapons and hardware at a discount! Until January 29, 23:59 GMT, you will only need one additional (identical) part to upgrade your weapons. Don’t miss the opportunity to prepare for battles in the new season!

In addition, for the duration of this special, the ability to trade the upgrade stabilizers on the market has become available again.

The special will be available from 12:00 GMT on January 25, until 23:59 GMT on January 29.

Please note that not all types of weapons are eligible for this special — please check the eligibility in the game.
