This week we are launching the test server where everyone can try out new co-drivers in action. Let’s take a look at what companions will be available for the testing, get acquainted with their skills and talents, and also learn a little more about how we plan to rework the system with the release of the update.

Separately, we draw your attention to the fact that a test version of the new system is presented on the test server. Some skills and/or talents may be partially or completely reworked in the final version. The new system’s interface is also not final and will be additionally improved.

Co-drivers available on the test server

Aggressor

Passive skills:
  • Shot spread reduced by 10%.
  • Weapon rotation speed increased by 10%.
  • Self-destruct damage increased by 5%.
Active talent
  • To activate the talent, you need to hit the enemy 30 times from a distance of 30 m. and more. The next shot (31st hit) automatically activates the talent.
  • Effect: increases the damage inflicted and received by all weapons by 25% for 8 sec. Losing a weapon while the talent is active will automatically cancel the effect.
Tankman

Passive skills:
  • Generator explosion power decreased by 20%.
  • Armoured car’s durability increased by 5%.
  • Power penalty from movement parts decreased by 10%.
Active talent
  • The talent charges after enemies hit your vehicle 3 times. At least 1 sec. must elapse between hits from one enemy. The charge goes down over time.
  • Effect: increases the armoured car’s resistance to all types of damage by 30% for 4 sec.

Sniper

Passive skills:
  • Projectile speed increased by 5%.
  • Spread reduced by 10%.
  • The mass of an ammo pack reduced by 20%.
Active talent
  • Talent activation: the player gains a charge for each hit on an enemy from long range, up to 4 charges. Accumulated charges are reset over time or if all shots in the salvo miss the target.
  • Effect: Each charge increases the damage of all weapons by 7%.
Infiltrator

Passive skills:
  • The visibility range of your car’s silhouette in stealth is reduced by 10 m.
  • Invisibility modules recharge 10% faster.
  • The maximum cab speed is 5 km/h higher.
Active talent
  • The talent charges if you stay close to an enemy for 1.5 sec. The talent charging process stops for 4 sec. if your car was damaged.
  • Effect: increases outgoing damage by 25% for 5 sec.
Rogue

Passive skills:
  • The durability of movement parts increased by 10%.
  • Armoured car’s tonnage increased by 500 кг.
  • The vehicle is less affected by the slowdown effect from Tesla cannons.
Active talent
  • To activate the talent, you must stay behind the enemy. If there are several opponents, then the talent is charged faster. The talent quickly disables if you drive away from enemies.
  • Effect: increases the damage of all weapons by 15%.
Ravager

Passive skills:
  • Durability of drones increased by 10%.
  • Drone activation speed increased by 20%.
  • The delay before a drone attacks its first target reduced by 10%.
Active talent
  • The talent is activated after being close to the summoned drones and turrets for 6 sec. The talent does not take into account being near quadcopter drones.
  • Effect: increases the damage dealt by drones and turrets by 20% for 4s. The range of the talent is very limited, so you need to stay as close to your drones and turrets as possible.
Operative

Passive skills:
  • Weapon spread while moving reduced by 15%.
  • Radar active range increased by 10%.
  • Armoured car’s power increased by 10%.
Active talent
  • To activate the talent, you need to keep the enemy in your sights for 2 sec. Taking damage resets the effect of the talent.
  • Effect: highlights explosive modules on the enemy’s armoured vehicle and increases damage to it by 15%. The duration of the effect is 6 sec.
Chemist

Passive skills:
  • The radius of fire puddles increased by 5%.
  • Weapon ammo increased by 15%.
  • Fire rate of rocket launchers that fire multiple rockets in one salvo increased by 10%.
Active talent
  • The talent charges when dealing fire or blast damage to multiple enemies at the same time, as well as when at least 2 rockets from the same salvo hit the same enemy.
  • Effect: increases the blast radius of projectiles and the damage you deal.
New co-drivers access system

With the release of the update, we plan not only to rework the co-drivers themselves, but to make changes to the time when they become available to the players.

Why do we make these changes?

As we’ve mentioned earlier, the updated co-drivers will have a stronger impact on the gameplay and the effectiveness of your armoured vehicles. Sometimes the right co-driver will determine your performance in battle. Such changes inevitably affect the in-game balance.

At this stage of learning, the new co-drivers system can greatly affect the balance in battles. Those players who are close to reaching max level and have unlocked one or more co-drivers may have too much advantage over those who are at earlier stages of the game and cannot unlock a co-driver yet.

What will change and how?

In order to ensure equal conditions for everyone, we have made the decision to make the new co-drivers a high-level content. This means that new co-drivers will be available when you reach reputation level 30 with the “Engineers” and start fighting against the experienced players like you.

When you reach level 30, you will be provided with a starting amount of points, which will be enough to choose the co-driver that fits your style of playing. We will inform you later on how exactly you will be able to earn the glory points in the final version. Also, there will be a certain limit on the amount of glory points that can be stored on the account.

What if I’m below level 30, but have already leveled up my “old” co-drivers?

You will be given a compensation and it will be stored in your account. Compensated points can be used as soon as you reach reputation level 30 with the “Engineers”. If the received points exceed the established limit, they will be credited over the limit and will not disappear anywhere.

Additional balance changes that are already available on the test server

Cabin “Master”
  • Cabin type changed to “Medium”.
  • PS reduced from 2400 to 2100.
  • Max. cabin speed reduced from 95 to 75 km/h.
  • Tonnage increased from 5000 to 5350 kg.
  • Weight limit increased from 10000 to 14100 kg.
  • Mass increased from 750 to 1150 kg.
  • Now the cabin heats up to a maximum of 50% (instead of 100% before).
  • Now, the automatic activation of the parts restoration occurs immediately after the cabin heats up to the maximum possible level. You can still turn off the cabin heating manually at any time.
Comment: the cabin’s form factor and perk didn’t fit its “light” type. Considering the not very high weight limit, the choice of weapons that could be mounted on the power nodes was severely limited. An increase in tonnage and weight limit along with changing the cabin’s type to “medium” will help correct the situation. And decreasing the maximum heating level will make using the cabin’s perk easier and safer.

Autonomous drone “SD-15 Vulture”
  • Target acquisition time reduced by 19%.
  • The drone’s flight speed increased by 5%.
  • Enemy detection range increased by 17%.
  • Cooldown time reduced from 13 sec. to 12 sec.
  • Explosion radius increased by 80%.
  • Blast damage reduced by 53%.
  • Periodic damage increased by 33%.
  • The drone now deals periodic damage 5 times before it explodes.
Comment: these significant changes are implemented in order to rebalance the way the drone deals damage. It used to deal significant damage, but due to the small explosion radius, the enemy could only lose a couple of parts. Now the explosion radius has been significantly increased and it became necessary to reduce the drone’s blast damage in order to maintain balance.

How to get to the test server?

If you have already participated in testing on a special server, then it will be enough to start the Launcher from the folder with the test client and wait for the update to complete.
  • Create a new folder for the game on your hard drive.
  • Download the Launcher from this link. The file name should not contain numbers indicating that the file is a duplicate. Please note that you should launch the file that does not contain any digits (1), (2), etc. in its name. If, when starting the installed launcher, you get to the live game servers, you need to delete all downloaded launchers from the download folder and try again.
  • Start the Launcher and install the game to the folder you created (for example: D:\Public test\Crossout).
  • After the installation is complete, start the Launcher and enter the game with your username and password.
  • The whole progress of your main account will be transferred to the main server (including parts in storage and levels of reputation in factions).
  • After logging into the server, to transfer progress from your account, press the “Esc” key and select “Copy account data”.
  • Please note the schedule of the test server:
    • Friday, June 24, 2022 from 14:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
    • Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
    • Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
  • Any progress you make on the test server will not be transferred to the live game servers (INCLUDING ATTEMPTS TO BUY PACKS).

In today’s devblog we will discuss: a new epic heavy minigun, a module for enhancing the built-in scopes, as well as the announcement of the very long-awaited return that we mentioned earlier. Let’s go!

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.

Epic heavy minigun

For a long time and quite regularly, we have been receiving various suggestions to add heavy miniguns to the game, which would be the predecessors of “Reaper”. We’re excited to announce that an epic heavy minigun will appear in the new season!

Good damage, accuracy and rate of fire — the new minigun has it all. But this weapon is not a copy of “Reaper”! When firing, this minigun will be overheating, so you should think about radiators in advance.

But the perk of this minigun is quite unusual: as soon as you consistently hit enemies with a certain amount of bullets, the minigun will fire a special projectile that will deal blast damage to the enemy on hit.

Skillful use of the perk will help you deal even with well-protected opponents due to the frequent activation of the perk and the blast damage it deals.

A special module that increases the effectiveness of the built-in scope

This clever device will make life much easier for those who prefer to use built-in scopes. The device increases the magnification rate of the built-in scope and does not move the point of view, as scope modules do.

It’s important to note that it doesn’t consume energy, which means that it can be adapted to almost any armoured car for precise firing.

Return of the “Chase” mode

Yes, that’s right! Chase returns to Crossout as a part of a special mode dedicated to the start of the new season.

In this 4-player mode, you will need to stop the moving trucks and capture the valuable cargo they are transporting. But keep in mind that the convoy is prepared for sudden attacks and will not simply retreat. And there are always reinforcements on standby for the especially persistent attackers!

Both trucks are equipped with their own weapons and are well protected. The task in which you managed to stop only one truck will be considered partially completed, and in order to receive the maximum reward, you will have to deal with both targets before they leave the location.

The chase will take place on a map designed specifically for this mode, where the route of the trucks and the convoy can change from time to time.

At the moment, we plan to add this mode on a temporary basis. But we will monitor its statistics and your feedback, and we will definitely consider adding it to the constant rotation of brawls or raids.

In the next devblog, we will take a look at the last new parts of the season, as well as at some of the cosmetic rewards. At the moment, the season is planned to be launched in the middle of July.

In this brief devblog, we would like to share with you some details and a panorama of the new PvP map, which will appear in the game with the next major update.

The new location is located near the maps that you are already familiar to you — “Powerplant”, “Chemical plant” and “Factory”. The most observant players will even notice the buildings from the “Powerplant” map in the background. Stylistically, the location continues the theme of industrial buildings and factories.

One of the location’s main feature is its asymmetry, which becomes most apparent closer to the center of the map.

Panorama 1.

The map offers excellent opportunities for long-range builds. For example, there is a long corridor without any additional covers, which can be seen on the panorama. It allows you to control the map and conduct sniper duels or shoot enemy vehicles that are trying to break through to your position.

The builds designed for medium or close range will be able to use the flanking bypasses which, however, cannot guarantee their safety.

Both teams will have access to elevated areas like the one in the picture on the left. They open a view to the central part of the map and allow you to partially control the passages from the enemy side. But don’t forget about the opponents who can outflank you!

Panorama 2.

The central area of the map is a fairly large arena, where the proper use of terrain, covers and vegetation can generate a lot of unique combat situations.

Even if you find yourself out in the open, you will most likely have options to hide from enemy fire by using hollows in the landscape.

Panorama 3.

The location will also feature fairly narrow and defensible passageways. Fans of unexpected appearances and sudden base captures should definitely pay attention to these routes.

Panorama 4.

Various shelters and covers will also be placed at the bases. They will be useful both when capturing an enemy point, so you can hide from shells and stall for time, and while defending your own base when it’s being overrun by enemies.

Today we are releasing the third part of our devblog, which means the start of the new season is getting closer! Let’s take a look at the new special autocannon, the legendary artillery launcher and 2 more new CKs.

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.

Special autocannon for short and medium distance firing

We continue to expand the range of “special” weapons for those players who have just begun their journey in the Wasteland world, as well as for those who occasionally take part in battles on lower PS levels, but don’t want to change their favourite weapon.

This special autocannon is the predecessor of the epic “Whirl”. But, if it seemed to you that this is another “younger” version of the weapon, with all its parameters being lower than for its epic counterpart, then it’s not so simple.

This autocannon has a slightly lower rate of fire, has less durability, and heats up faster. But on the other hand, it deals the same amount of damage as “Cyclone” and has an increased firing accuracy!

We are sure that this curious weapon will find its fans among the autocannon enthusiasts or those who just want to try this type of weapon out.

Legendary rocket artillery

Have you often wanted to punish an impudent enemy who has taken up a position and is now firing from that hill over there with one powerful and precise shot? Or take a moving enemy by surprise with one unexpected shot? Then this weapon is for you!

After a first quick glance, some might say that this is the second “Mandrake”. But the first impression is deceptive: all these weapons have in common is their aiming mechanics.

Artillery shells hit without a miss. Do you remember how randomly the shells of “Mandrake” can scatter on the battlefield? 5 artillery rockets launched at the same time hit much more accurately, and you have almost no chance of missing a stationary target. If the enemy didn’t understand who he was dealing with and didn’t begin to change his position before your next shot, then it’s likely that he will no longer be able to retaliate.

The full power of this artillery can be observed during movement: the weapon’s reloading will be boosted as the speed of your armoured car increases. This will allow you to get even more benefit from frequent position changes: not only will you be safe, but you will also be on your guard.

Finally, we’d like to mention the ability to conduct accurate preemptive fire: once in a battle against a driver armed with powerful artillery, the enemies will always plan their route carefully. Or they will pay for their carelessness.

Customization kits for the “Aurora” combat laser and “Small track”

Many of you have commented that there are plenty of CKs for wheels in the game, but there are none for other types of movement parts. Let’s change this situation: we present you the first CK for the small track!

As for “Aurora”, we think you will immediately guess who created this new appearance for this laser. It would seem that a weapon of a high-tech faction cannot become even more high-tech, right? The Syndicate can do anything.

Additional information about the co-driver system rework

In the last devblog, we briefly described the rework of co-drivers, which will be one of the new features included in the upcoming update. In the comments, we’ve received a lot of questions about the reasons why we compensate only the experience earned by leveling up the existing co-drivers, but not the resources spent on unlocking their skills.

We want to clarify this point: it’s not just experience that will be compensated with glory points, but the resources as well, so your new co-driver line-up will be equivalent to the one you have now! In other words, those who didn’t invest resources into unlocking the levels of their current co-drivers and limited themselves to only levels for “experience” will receive less glory points than those who unlocked all levels and spent resources.

In the next devblog we will share the information about a couple new parts, as well as about a long-awaited return of... can you guess what? Yes, the co-drivers system rework is not the only surprise of the upcoming update.
