The “Crossout day” update was released just yesterday, and we already want to present to show you a couple of new parts that will appear in the Wasteland with the next update!
Attention! The update, like the parts mentioned in this news, has nothing to do with the new season and battle pass that are planned for the summer!
They belong to Alva, the daughter of Arbiter Petrolium, the main administrator of the battles in the Arenas. But, unlike her eccentric father, the girl who was raised by the Firestarters and then connected her life with occult knowledge, hints with her appearance alone that nothing good should be expected from meeting her.
Wheel “Sabbath”
For many years Alva wandered through impassable forests and swamps in attempts to temper her spirit. And every time the tree branches were entwined into a wall in front of her and the swamp seemed endless, a voice in her head urged her to keep going. As a reward for her persistence, the girl was given an armoured car, which proved that every obstacle in the way is merely an excuse to move faster towards her goal.
Crossbow “Varun”
One would think that a weapon found in a swamp would unlikely be in a good condition. But the metal under the dirt was completely unaffected by corrosion and, once greased, “Varun” began to shoot faster than any crossbow Alva had ever seen. However, years of abandonment have made some adjustments to the weapon’s mechanism: after charging, the bowstring tension gradually loosens.
It would be interesting to read your guesses and suggestions in the comments: what kind of rarity and what kind of perks will these parts have? In the meantime, here’s a picture which is also somehow connected with the Alva’s appearance in the Valley.

Caligari and Ochre are already waiting for you at your range! Destroy your opponents in the updated brawl on the new map, collect all rewards of the festive event and don’t forget about the gift and special promotion! Let’s start celebrating “Crossout Day”!
Crossout day
Attention! The “Crossout day” event will last until June 1 inclusive! [expand type=details] This year, for the 7th anniversary of Crossout, we’ve updated the brawl that many enjoyed playing last year:
“Crossout day” is a confrontation similar to the “Free for all” brawl, where the player has no allies. You are surrounded by enemies and you need you to destroy as many of them as possible!
The battle takes place on a new map “Sand harbour”.
Players take part in the battle on pre-prepared vehicles, sometimes highly unusual. All armored vehicles in battle are created by our players.
This year, we’ve updated the list of blueprints for the brawl.
The brawl also has respawns.
After respawning, you can choose which vehicle you can choose the vehicle on which you will continue fighting: there will always be 3 random blueprints to choose from.
The points are awarded for both shooting off parts and for destroying the enemy. The points for destroying the enemy are also added to the points for all parts that were mounted the enemy’s armoured vehicle at the time of destruction.
Challenges and rewards:
Each player will have access to a special event reward scale with levels for free:
The level can be increased by completing the daily challenge to find the malfunctioning Caligari drones on the “Crossout day” brawl map.
All uncompleted daily challenges on finding the drones accumulate. If you missed a few days, then you can easily complete several challenges at once.
Leveling up rewards include: unique or rare cosmetic items, containers with resources and CKs, workbench coupons, storage expansions, workpieces, a structural part, range items and Engineer badges.
Everybody in the Valley knows that Scavengers are a part of the “Brotherhood” — a military organization that also includes Steppenwolfs. That’s why discipline and strict hierarchy are highly important and beneficial for Scar AB’s people. Like a strict hierarchy. But every career ladder has a downside — its first steps. Hog has joined the Scavenger ranks just recently, but he has already proven himself to be a responsible worker in the field of finding the useful “junk” and protecting it from hostile gangs. Scar would gladly promote the rookie, but “he has just started working here”. Good thing that Hog is a professional mercenary who is only interested in his reward, and Scavengers always pay their debts.

In June, we plan to implement a new anti-aliasing technology, TAA (temporal anti-aliasing), into the game. First of all, we invite you to evaluate it in comparison with other anti-aliasing technologies that are currently available in the game. The video comparison was recorded in 1080p:
This technology is used to get rid of the effect when object edges appear somewhat jagged. Players often refer to such edges or objects as “pixelated” and jokingly say that one can cut oneself with them. Well, there is some truth in that: it does cut a particularly sophisticated player’s eye, and quite severely.
At the moment, the following aliasing technologies are available in Crossout: FXAA (Fast approXimate Anti-Aliasing), MSAA (Multisample Anti-Aliasing) and SMAA (Subpixel Morphological Anti-Aliasing). All of them provide good solutions, but they, using various algorithms, can smooth out only the edges of triangles or sharp borders. If compared with TAA, the comparison results will not be in their favour.
The “TAA” technology calculates a number of previously rendered frames, taking the position of pixels in dynamics into account. As a result, the “jaggedness” on the edges of objects and flickering on shiny surfaces are eliminated from the image that the player sees. Not only does the technology provide smoother edges and edges for objects, but it also adds more detail to them. The way TAA works is it renders the image in a higher resolution and then reduces it to the size of your screen.
The effect of the new anti-aliasing will be best seen if you are playing with the above average quality settings. Depending on the complexity of a certain scene, the technology, like other anti-aliasing solutions, may have minor effect on the frame rate, so we recommend using it on systems that allow you to run the game on medium-high graphics settings without problems.
With the introduction of TAA, we plan to abandon MSAA as the most “heavy” technology currently available in the game. FXAA and SMAA will still be available in Crossout.
