Crossout - XO_Team

Hello, survivors!

It’s time to learn what changes and new features await us in the next update. But, before we begin, we remind you that:

All the new features described here are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all.

Spring mayhem

May in Crossout would not be May if it did not have the traditional “Spring mayhem”! But we don’t forget about the improvements and updating of this mode, and some of the changes are based directly on your feedback and wishes. What awaits us this time?

First of all, we updated and improved the vehicles for battles. Let us list the main points:
  • The “Scout” car is again equipped with the “Joule” autocannons, modified to the gameplay realities of the brawl.
  • Improved the “Mortarman” blueprint: now it’s more vulnerable due to fragile ammo boxes.
  • The “Cannoneer” class returns to the brawl and replaces “Arsonist”. The “Mandrakes” installed on this car now shoot single shells. You may shoot each weapon twice, before it starts to reload. Howitzer shells hit the exact center of the area selected during aiming.
For progressing in the leagues, you can get a unique logo and a memorable decor for the range. Both logo and decoration will be changing their appearance depending on your current league. Also, as usual, a higher league will bring you more scrap metal.

Part upgrades and prestige levels

In this update, we also plan to rework the reward for prestige levels with factions, making it more useful and relevant to the needs of high-level players.

Instead of the current “Veteran container”, you will receive a new container from which you can get one of the new “upgrade stabilizers” or in-game coins. What are these stabilizers?

These are special consumables that will allow you to block one or more bonuses that you don’t want to lose when upgrading the part again. Here is an example:

You upgrade the “Spectre-2” machine gun and get three bonuses:
  • Durability +10%
  • Damage +5%
  • Aim speed +15%
You want to get a “range of fire +15%” as the last bonus, but you’re afraid to lose the previous two. With stabilizers, it will be possible! You will be able to use two “epic” stabilizers and block damage and durability bonuses. As a result, if you upgrade the part again, only the bonus from the last group will change.

Stabilizers will be obtainable not only from a special container. You will also be able to craft a stabilizer of a certain rarity from several ones of previous rarities.

But what about those who have a high prestige level and have received many “Veteran containers”?

In one of the following updates (not in 0.12.60, but in subsequent updates) you will be able to exchange non-tradable parts for stabilizers. We will additionally announce the details of the exchange and when such an opportunity becomes available.

Balance changes

Rare parts

Autocannon “AC43 Rapier”

Maximum spread increased by 10%.

Comment: Current statistics and a number of tests show that the autocannon is extremely effective in battles at low PS rates. Since shooting with the “fire” key held down is popular among new players at low PS frames, we increase the maximum spread. This change will have almost no effect on experienced players who shoot by repeatedly clicking on the “fire” button.

Shotgun “Sledgehammer”

Durability reduced by 10%.

Comment: Sledgehammer is a good example of the case when decent damage and durability parameters (for its rarity) and a small model can make the weapon extremely effective. We slightly reduce the durability of the shotgun so that it matches the model of the weapon, and so that the increase in the durability of the weapons depending on the rarity was more gradual.

Cannon “Little Boy 6LB”
  • Minimum spread in motion increased by 50%.
  • Aiming speed reduced by 25%.
Comment: The “Little Boy” is an extremely versatile cannon that allows you to fight effectively at all distances. We implement the following changes because we would like to see this kind of “versatility” appear in weapons as their rarity increases.

Rocket launcher “Wasp”

Impulse from rocket explosion reduced by 25%.

Comment: In battles at low and close to low PS frames, the impulse from the rocket explosion is extremely strong and sometimes leaves no chance for light vehicles.

Epic parts

Mechanical leg “ML 200”

Explosive damage resistance increased by 25%.

Comment: Their relatively slow speed should be compensated for by excellent survivability, but in the case of the “ML 200”, the legs were too vulnerable to explosive damage.

Mechanical leg “Bigram”

Now the maximum bonus from the perk is 30%, instead of 50%.

Comment: As for “Bigrams”, these legs are one of the most effective chassis in battles at high PS frames and clan battles. Their perk works perfectly in conjunction with many weapons, which is confirmed by both statistics and tests in the conditions of real battles. Reducing the maximum bonus will reduce their excessive efficiency relative to other chassis.

Hovers “Icarus IV” and “Icarus VII”

Increased the chassis’ inertia.

Comment: The inertia change will increase the dependence on the player’s skills: you will need to calculate your moves ahead more often.

Legendary parts

Pulse cannon “Kaiju”
  • Damage from a single hit is increased by 20%.
  • Burst length reduced by 20%.
Comment: The change will simplify the process of shooting from “Kaiju”, as you will have to aim less at a moving enemy, and the final damage per second will be increased.

Other changes

In the next update, we will fix a number of known bugs and make the necessary interface changes, improve some models of parts for a number of maps from the current rotation. And the updated opponents of the “Scavengers” faction will appear in raids!

See you in the update 0.12.60!

Attention! The news is a preliminary announcement. The work on the following changes is still in progress. The changes are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not be implemented into the game at all.

Not everything is lost and life is not over as long as you have a good story and a friend to tell it to. And I’m glad I have you, my reader, trying to find a quote in the text and waiting for new insights.

This is Murch and another episode of “Voice of the Wasteland”. And we shall begin with the most popular comment of the previous episode (the spelling has been preserved):

“A hunt for a caterpillar? Like for a drone carrier or something?”

No, dear reader, exactly for the caterpillar! How could one switch from a beautiful, green caterpillar to something like that? Moreover, the author also received support from others. Oh well. But the comment is perfect, because it, among other things, approves the action chosen by other readers. So I went to get the caterpillar. But what I found wasn’t exactly it.

I’ve only read about insects in books before — have you seen a lot of those in the Wasteland? If so, I ask for photographic evidence! Meanwhile, I went to the area where I woke up. Yes, I was convinced that I was delusional, but what if… what if this place is special?

An unremarkable empty lot surrounded by a bar, a market, and a half-ruined garage. Mindful of the consequences of the last trip to the bar, I had to go either to the market or to the garage. But there was some howling in the market about discounts, new armoured cars, and other incoherent things, so I decided to start with something a little more quiet.

Half of the building was gone, as if it had been licked by a giant cow (oh, what a fantasy!), but the path was blocked by the gates. Good thing they weren’t locked. With a loud squeak and a lot of effort, I managed to move one of them.

The garage was definitely abandoned, different scrap was just lying around. The walls were covered with different writings and debris was scattered everywhere. But in the middle of all this, there was a photo attached to the far wall. I don’t know why they didn’t tear it down, take it away, or burn it right there. But it got my full attention. And I’m sorry, I totally forgot about some caterpillar out there, because this should fascinate any survivor:

And while I’m standing there staring at the photo, you can choose the next step:
  • Go to the market;
  • Go to the bar;
  • Throw out the photo and go home;
  • Upgrade my armoured car;
  • Check the echo in the garage.

Survivors!

Once Scar AB found an old magazine with images of cars that existed before the events of Crossout, and now he wants to assemble a collection of such cars. Many cars in this world are gone, and so survivors are invited to assemble a car similar to the one depicted in the photo.

The 4 best entries will be selected, and their authors will receive a reward of 300 coins and an epic "Amusement container"!

This week we suggest you try to rebuild this car:

All of the details can be found here. Good luck!

You can find the previous part of the story here.

— Damn it! Adam, Flo, did you hear that? — three armored vehicles, not similar to each other and without identification marks, slowly passed between the skyscrapers of the East Quarter. One of them, a massive tracked one, braked sharply — because of this, it almost got rammed by the vehicle behind it.

— You’re doing it again, Steve! Nobody heard anything! And last time too! And the time before last! It’s because of that moonshine. Worrier, — Adam shouted into the radio, sitting in a small car with racing wheels.

— Shut up, both of you. The outpost of these clowns must be here somewhere. — The survivors stopped in front of a bridge with a large gap in the middle. A dried canal passed under the crossing.

— Then why are we looking for them, if they are clowns? — Stephen asked again.

Everyone was silent for a few moments, considering Steve’s words.

— Florence, why are we taking this idiot with us?

— Because this idiot is my brother, Adam. Well, the happy owner of the 88-mm Executioner, without whom we would have been killed long ago, — Steve, as if confirming his sister’s words, made several turns with the cannon.

— If it wasn’t for him, we would not have gotten into trouble so often. Like the last time, when we stole Scavenger boxes. His hands are itching to shoot, but we could just leave. Well, we made it, thanks for that, but it didn’t convince the Scavengers, — the owner of a small maneuverable armoured car with machine guns on the sides didn’t calm down.

— Enough. We are looking for these “clowns”, brother, because they have something we can get.If you hadn't been pouring your entire “Keyhole” assortment into yourself yesterday and talked to people like we did, you’d know that the Syndicate is stocked with resources, and they’re short on people, — Florence explained.

—“Talked to people?” — you mean making out with that savage in the mask? Did you even see what’s underneath it? — Steve did not calm down.

— Actually, thanks to this “savage” we found out where to find work, —Adam wanted to continue to take out anger on his comrade, but the attention of the trio suddenly turned to the other side of the bridge, where the massive, but elegant armoured car with three pairs of unusual for the Valley wheels appeared. The headlights and lamps on the stranger’s cabin glowed with a violet-blue light, which also came from under the bumper.

After a few moments, the armoured cars on different sides of the bridge were studying each other and the trio’s weapons were aimed at the stranger.

— You have good transport and weapons, — a hoarse female voice rang out in the radios of the survivors, — we can give each other benefit.

— Damn, so it’s not just a rumor?! Looks creepy, — Steve said to his companions.

— We are ready to cooperate. The only question is the price, — Florence answered, ignoring the words of her brother.

— Follow me, — a voice said quickly from the truck, which instantly disappeared behind a skyscraper on the other side of the bridge.

— Easy to say with these wheels. How can we cross this bridge?! — Steve responded.

— And you still complain about hovers. We would have flown over this in a moment, — Adam laughed at his comrades and immediately dived under the bridge, where the dried-up canal passed. — I’ll catch up with this pretty one. Wait for coordinates.

— Are you sure she’s pretty, smart guy? He’s the one complaining about the flyers, until I shoot them down. Maybe we should leave, Flo? It doesn’t feel right, — Stephen doubted.

Having ignored her brother’s question again, Florence drove onto the bridge and looked around.

— There's a crossing a couple of hundred meters to our left. If we hurry, maybe we’ll see our friend again.

After a few sharp turns, Adam saw that the road ahead was littered with concrete blocks, with pieces of rebar sticking out at his cab level. It was too late to brake, so Adam twisted the steering wheel toward a sharp exit off the road that would work as a trampoline, and flew out of the canal like a shell from a cannon at high speed. Luckily, his flight trajectory passed neatly between two high-rises, and the armoured car landed, igniting the sparks from under the rear bumper.

Adam quickly came to his senses and saw that neon light flashed at the end of the street. Around the corner was a giant building whose windows, unlike all the other houses, were not so badly shattered. A truck entered this building. With a little more speed, Adam managed to slip through the gate after the stranger and found himself in complete darkness. The neon that was guarding him disappeared. As soon as the Survivor reached for the headlights toggle switch, a bright blue light struck his eyes.

— Don’t move — it will save your life. No surprises if you want to talk, — the woman’s voice sounded hoarse again. — You were lucky to meet me before you met the Munmu’s hounds. You rode fast and didn’t put fear in your heart, flying across the sky like a dragon. You will fight to the death.

— What? Fight? Fight against you? Damn, what’s with the comms, — Adam whispered the last phrase to himself, realizing that he couldn’t even give a signal to his allies.

Only now his eyes had adjusted to the light and he could see the place where he was: the huge tower was hollow in the center and consisted of a system of elevators and roads. On some floors, Kaiju pulse cannons were installed, aiming their barrels at Adam. He had already seen survivors with this weapon, and now it was clear where it came from. It turned out that a bright blue light was beaming from the headlights of the same truck that stood in front of his armoured car.

— Your companions will be delivered soon. I ordered to keep them alive, — a loud voice came from somewhere above the tower.

— This is the keeper of our home — Munmu. You were lucky to hear him the first time you came here, — the woman’s voice continued. — If you’re still alive after that, consider it the luckiest thing that ever happened to you. You can call me Nobuko.

—I’m Adam,— the Survivor replied proudly.

— We can make an exchange of services, Adam. We have a need for people.

— How will you pay?

— You don’t know what to do yet.

— We always have to do the same thing. There is little variety, as they say in the “Keyhole”, — Adam replied with a sneer. — But they pay for it in different ways.

— As long as we ask you to bring people here with good, strong armoured cars,— Nobuko continued, ignoring his words. — Parts, electronics — we’ll give a cut to Adam and his friends. If you do your job well.

— I have already brought two. So where is my reward?

— We don’t pay in advance. We do a favor. We’re done talking. I see strength in you, but I do not see honor.

— Wait, wait! I understand that you don’t get jokes. We agree.

— It’s impossible otherwise. Now you go and bring strong people here. We are good at rewarding a decent result. The partners are waiting outside. Don’t forget about the agreement. We already have your data. We will contact you.

Hello, survivors!

We remind you that the current “Syndicate” season will last until April 30 inclusive! After that, all special tasks of the season will become unavailable, and you will no longer be able to unlock new faction’s parts and recipes, as well as other battle pass rewards.

If you haven’t yet reached level 75, hurry up! Here are a few important points:
  • You will keep all rewards that were already unlocked, including parts recipes, after the end of the season.
  • You can increase your current level in the event by completing special tasks of the season or using the “Battle Pass Level” pack.
  • Purchasing a standard or deluxe version of the Battle Pass allows you to unlock all rewards marked in orange on the season scale. Rewards available without the Battle Pass are marked in yellow on the scale.
  • Purchasing a battle pass (standard or deluxe) will automatically unlock and give you all previously unavailable rewards for the levels already received.
  • Players who have reached Level 75 can continue increasing their level in the season. All owners of standard and deluxe Battle Passes will receive 20 in-game coins for each additional level.
  • Players who have acquired a Battle Pass closer to the end of the event will automatically receive coins for each additional event level.
For example: if you played the entire current season without the battle pass and reached level 90, purchasing a battle pass will automatically unlock all previously unavailable rewards for the first 75 levels, as well as an additional 20 coins for each level from 76 to 90.

Don’t miss the opportunity to join the mysterious “Neon Dragon” syndicate and get all the unique parts and cosmetic items of the new faction!

Rumours about Scar AB's collection and the skill of the engineers who craft and expand it are rapidly spreading throughout the Valley. Recently, one of the trading clans turned to the Scavenger leader with the request to build several armoured vehicles to accompany the caravans, but with a special condition. All vehicles have to be similar to real-life models with slight modifications. The sense of style is not dead and gone even in this wasted world, and it's good.

We will select the top 4 entries, and their authors will get a reward of 300 coins and an epic "Amusement container"!

Assignment: Recreate the following car, install powerful off-road tires, use machine guns/miniguns as weapons; install light armour. The main condition is to maintain a recognizable appearance.

All of the details can be found here. Good luck!
