Hello!

Earlier, in the news with planned balance changes, we announced that the release of the next update is scheduled for this week. But, as we need a little more time to make all the necessary preparations, the “Dronapocalypse” update is postponed to next week. It’s quite possible that the update will be released not on Thursday, as we used to, but sooner.

And, as a small bonus, let’s take a look on the main new features that you can expect in 0.12.50 update:
  • Return of the “Dronapocalypse” event.
  • Return of the Easter event.
  • Ability to save 3 blueprints for clan battles and clan battles with leviathans and the ability to change the vehicle before the next round.
  • Ability to save a certain co-driver together with the blueprint. Later, when loading this blueprint, the saved co-driver will be automatically put into the cabin.
  • The ability to mark a specific point on the map with a special marker and draw the attention of your allies to it.
  • Correction of a bug connected with strafing when using the hand brake, as well as many other corrections and new features.
  • Previously announced balance tweaks (not necessarily the same as on the test server).
Thank you for your understanding and we will see you in the “Dronapocalypse” update!

The new issue of a one-page newspaper (let’s be honest — what kind of radio is this anyway) from Alex Murch, with the proud title “Voice of the Wasteland” is already here.

And we’ll start with the most “liked” comment of the last issue, which, again, is about portraits:

I really wanted this portrait, I saw it many times on the game forum! My comment “Mmm, I want this portrait” turned out to be liked because people also want this portrait and liked my comment so that you can see that we want portraits!

Well, such a clear interest definitely delights me, which means that the upcoming deliveries will be able to satisfy not only a collector like me, but several other survivors as well. All we can do is wait.

But what you don’t have to wait for is an answer from Porcupine. Because I have already visited the village and used something that they call “a mail service”. Some kind of stall in the market, a woman of undetermined age accepts requests for shipments, and can even throw a stone at those whom she doesn’t like! Nobody wanted to respond — her patrons were too powerful, and the mail must be sent one way or another. Nevertheless, someone shouted from behind the backs of his comrades:

— I’ll show you, my dear! And your dog too!

The dog, and where he saw it both remained a mystery.

The reply letter came suspiciously quickly. As if the Porcupine was somewhere very close. This was both pleasing and alarming at the same time:

“Hey! Oh, what I’m planning here, what I have found here! You won’t believe what you can do with a cannon with grenades stuffed in it! I thought it would explode, but no, it works! You’re gonna love it, you'll see. Oh, you will like it. The newcomers, the ones who are loud and drive without mufflers, liked it too, so I’m thinking about either keeping it or giving it to them for production, what do you think? It doesn’t matter, I won’t read the next letter from you anyway. DO NOT WRITE TO ME!
Many hugs, your Porc.”

I have to admit I missed his style of writing. And, I’ll tell you a secret, at least he expresses himself more clearly and directly than Valla.

Now I have new information and I can to do something else:
  • Write to Valla;
  • Write to Porcupine;
  • Upgrade my armoured car;
  • Sunbathe on the roof.

Hello!

First of all, thanks to everyone who took part yesterday’s testing of balance changes on a special server and shared their constructive feedback in discussion threads or in a special topic. If you haven’t read the news yet, you can do it and discuss the changes here.

We have implemented several adjustments based on your comments, and we offer you to evaluate them on the test server today, from 13:00 GMT. Please note that if you did not see the desired adjustment/change in the list, it doesn’t mean that there will be no changes at all. At the moment, those changes that can be implemented “on the go” have been made.

Auger “Meat Grinder”
  • Turning radius reduced.
  • The chassis’ longitudinal traction has been improved.
Hover “Icarus IV”
  • Power consumption increased from 8% to 12% (instead of 14% in the first iteration).
  • Tonnage increased from +750 kg to +1200 kg (instead of +1550 kg in the first iteration).
Hover “Icarus VII”
  • Power consumption increased from 5% to 8% (instead of 10% in the first iteration).
  • Tonnage increased from +750 kg to +960 kg (instead of +1100 kg in the first iteration).
Cabin “Jannabi”
Fixed a bug due to which the perk did not affect all types of damage.

Minelayer “Jubokko”
Now the ammunition of the minelayer is limited.

Pulse cannon “Kaiju”
  • Weapon recoil increased by 50%.
  • Energy consumption increased to 12 pts.
  • Now the projectiles have a certain flight time to reach the target (previously they hit the target instantly).

Greetings, survivors! The next update 0.12.50 “Dronapocalypse” is scheduled for next week, and today we would like to tell you in advance about the upcoming balance changes that you asked us about on different social media platforms.

We remind you that all the new features described in this news are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. You can familiarize yourself with all the planned changes in detail on the special test server!

“Rare” parts
Cannon “Little Boy 6LB”
Durability reduced by 7% (from 454 pts to 422 pts).

Shotgun “Spitfire”
Damage reduced by 7%.

“Epic” parts
Crossbow “Phoenix”
Reload time reduced by 10%. Now the crossbow reloads faster.

Autonomous drone “Yaoguai”
Drone’s durability increased by 50% to increase its survivability and correct its short lifespan in combat conditions.

Minelayer “Kapkan”
  • Mine fire rate reduced by 25%.
  • Now the rope doesn’t affect fast vehicles that much.
Developer comment: this change is directed primarily towards fast vehicles. Now they will not brake so sharply when they are caught by a “Kapkan” mine. And reducing the mine’s firing rate will reduce the number of situations when the mine almost immediately fastened a new rope, after the previous one was cut.

Automatic weapon “Caucasus”
Optimal and maximum range of fire reduced by 30%.

Cabin “Dusk”
The bonus damage from the perk is reduced from 30% to 20%.

Tracking system “Enlightenment”
Reduced the system’s reloading time (from 15 to 14 seconds).

“Jannabi” cabin
Now the cabin’s perk bonus works with all damage types.

Drone “Fuze”
The number of launches increased by 2.

Radar “Verifier”
Radar reload time increased from 30 to 35 sec.

Chassis “Omni”
  • Turning radius reduced.
  • Improved surface grip.
  • Now each chassis consumes 16% of power, instead of 19% earlier.
Armoured track
  • Driving with these tracks has become less “twitchy”.
  • Improved surface grip.
Cabin “Cockpit”
Now the maximum bonus damage from the cabin’s perk is 50%.
Now each booster installed gives more bonus damage:
  • Common: 4% (instead of 3% before).
  • Rare: 8% (instead of 6% earlier).
  • Epic: 13% (instead of 11% before).
Developer comment: the changes are aimed at making the cabin no longer the main and only option for assembling an effective leviathan, but at the same time, for it to become more attractive to use in regular battles.

Cabin “Favourite”
  • Now, in order to charge the perk, you need to drive 20% less distance.
  • The duration of the perk has been reduced from 3 to 2 sec.
Developer comment: with these changes, we would like to adjust the excessive efficiency of shotguns in conjunction with this cabin, as well as make its perk more useful for machine guns.

Hover “Icarus IV”
  • Tonnage increased from +750 to +1550 kg.
  • Power consumption increased from 8% to 14%.
  • Durability increased from 160 to 200 pts.
  • Increased the chassis’ inertia.
  • Now installing hovers on a vehicle with any other chassis, except mechanical legs, reduces the height of the armoured vehicle above the ground.
Hover “Icarus VII”
  • Tonnage increased from +750 to +1100 kg.
  • Power consumption increased from 5% to 10%.
  • Durability increased from 135 to 165 pts.
  • Increased the chassis’ inertia.
  • Now installing hovers on a vehicle with any other chassis, except mechanical legs, reduces the height of the armoured vehicle above the ground.
Developer comment: first of all, we would like to again agree with the opinion of many players that the use of wheels and other chassis that don’t touch the ground, on vehicles with hovers needed to be corrected. We also revised the parameters of hovers to make it easier to gain the weight limit on many cabins. At the same time, the dynamics of such builds should not significantly decrease.
You may also notice that now “Icarus IV” has become the preferred option for heavy, “tank” builds.
The changes in the hover vehicles’ inertia are primarily aimed at slightly reducing the efficiency of the fast builds, whose efficiency has stood out consistently in many tests.

“Legendary” parts
Minigun “Reaper”
Maximum spread in motion reduced by 10%.

Pulse cannon “Kaiju”
Reloading time increased from 2.5 to 3.8 sec.

Drone “Annihilator”
Now when dealing damage, the drone reduces cabin power by 5%, instead of 6%.

Minelayer “Jubokko”
  • Now the minelayer has a limited ammunition - 18 pcs.
  • The distance at which the attached wire rope breaks is increased by 50%.
Attention! Based on the results of the test on Thursday, additional changes may be implemented on Friday, based on the first statistics and your feedback. If you had the chance to evaluate the changes on Thursday, March 18, please leave your feedback in the special thread at the link below!

How to get to the test server?
If you have already participated in testing on a special server, then it will be enough to start the Launcher from the folder with the test client and wait for the update to complete.
  • Create a new folder for the game on your hard drive.
  • Download the Launcher from this link. The file name should not contain numbers indicating that the file is a duplicate. Please note that you should launch the file that does not contain any digits (1), (2), etc. in its name. If, when starting the installed launcher, you get to the live game servers, you need to delete all downloaded launchers from the download folder and try again.
  • Start the Launcher and install the game to the folder you created (for example: D:\Public test\Crossout).
  • After the installation is complete, start the Launcher and enter the game with your username and password.
  • The whole progress of your main account will be transferred to the main server (including parts in storage and levels of reputation in factions).
  • After logging into the server, to transfer progress from your account, press the “Esc” key and select “Copy account data”.
Please note the schedule of the test server:
  • Thursday, March 18, 2021: from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
  • Friday, March 19, 2021 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
  • Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
  • Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT time)
Any progress you make on the test server will not be transferred to the live game servers (INCLUDING ATTEMPTS TO BUY PACKS).

After testing the changes, we invite you to leave your constructive feedback on the planned rework in THIS THREAD (it will open a bit later after the launch of the test server).

You can report all issues found on the test server here.

The public test server is intended only for testing of the upcoming update, and may not accommodate all players without exception. However, absolutely anyone can join the server, as long as there are free spots.

You can find the previous part of the story here.

– Hey, – Red Hot whistled, glancing at cars with bright neon lights. – What are those guys doing in our area?

Strangers almost caught the captain by surprise: maneuverable armoured vehicles flew to one of the phalanges of the Lunatics in the quarry area. After firing at a couple of buggies, they slowed down, as if challenging Red Hot.

Hearing the roar of powerful engines, the leader of the Firestarters turned around the train that was hurrying for raiding the remote range – the bold tactics of the strangers brought to mind the tales of a dragon clan from the east that had been circulating in the Valley. Odegon’s minions repeated the rumours about heretics, covered with electronics from heads to toes, with varying degrees of speculation. But Red Hot had a chance to get a real trophy, and he readily entered the game.

– Did you guys stop by the wrong place? - the slasher shouted sneeringly. – You can’t just leave now. We’re gonna give you a hot welcome!

As if unleashed, the vanguard of the Lunatics raced towards the enemy on the spiked and bladed buggies. They were met by volleys of powerful impulse cannons and fire-spitting drones. The sight of the flame gaining strength drove Red Hot into madness, and he let the heavy artillery of the Firestarters into battle. For a while, the “Dragons” swerved along the bed of the dried river, firing back on the go. But soon the engines of sparkling armoured vehicles roared, and the opponents began to quickly disappear in dancing dust clouds.

A few Lunatics tried to tail them and it was as if they had fallen into quicksand: the ropes from the traps thrown by their enemy chained the buggies, forcing them to spin in vain.

Red Hot realized that he had lost. He was about to take it out on someone when the radio in his pocket came to life:

– Boss, we didn’t catch them, – the speaker crackled. – But what did we find... We have a walking city under our noses! Nomads!

Red Hot thought that the day could still be saved.

And commanded his dogs:

– Get them.

A man in a yellow biological defense suit looked anxiously toward an abandoned sand quarry. A giant half-flooded crater gaped on the dead body of the desert with a lacerated wound. A member of the “Dawn’s Children” scientific organisation was separated from the abyss by about fifty metres and a line of trucks protecting a mobile city of Nomads. He took cover behind the hull of the aircraft, to which an unknown craftsman attached a powerful tractor chassis, and waited for his heart to stop beating frantically.

– Did you hear that? – the scientist asked a colleague. – Just now there was some sort of clap... Or an explosion...

– I suspect the Nomads shot down something... someone, – the partner in the same bulky suit responded. – I am worried too. We are at the edge of the Valley: it’s scary even to think what might happen here... It’s time to go back to the center – we are wasting time anyway!

Both became silent, listening to the conversation of senior colleagues with the gloomy masters of the platform. The conversation with the Nomads went wrong immediately, and in the last couple of hours it turned into banal disputes – the parties clearly did not understand each other.

– Please, listen – the voice of one of the chief scientists sounded indignant. - The “Dawn’s Children”, of course, are grateful for your repeated help with information and material assistance. But by hiding such details from us, you negate the whole concept of a trusting relationship. We know Lloyd visited you. And we know what he wanted, from the contents of the cryptograms found under the Ravagers Foothold.

There was a guttural rumble in response, as if bursting from beneath a deafening mask. It was hard to understand the words in this mix of sounds.

– The Nomads are not seeking anyone’s trust. The Nomads don’t report about their searches. The Nomads have already refused to help Lloyd. Why would they change for other scientists?

– So, you refused him? Lloyd asked for a guide to go to the center of some anomaly…

– So he told me.

– And you sent him back?

– That is the truth.

Noticeably nervous, the scientist continued with the questions:

– Please, tell us, the territory he mentioned… Does it coincide with our recent area of interest?

The nomad participating in the negotiations let out a frightening wheeze, either clearing his throat or panting under a mask that had rigid plastic tubes sticking out of it. Apparently, it meant a positive answer, and the entire expedition of the “Dawn’s Children”, the last bastion of science in the destroyed world, excitedly rumbled.

– Colleagues, stay calm! – shouted a senior researcher.

– What kind of calm are we talking about? – one of the yellow suits objected. – Haven’t we missed a criminal obsessed by absolute power?

– Lloyd hasn’t just betrayed us, – the other backed up. He’s found another Oracle module and right now he’s doing everything he can to capture it for his own purposes. Not caring what it does to everyone else.

– Firstly, it is not entirely known that the module is located exactly where we assume it is, – the head of the expeditionary corps reminded in a persuasive tone. – Secondly, access to the facility is blocked by an anomalous zone that only the Lost or the Nomads can enter. As we can see, carriers of the required abilities have neither the reason nor the will to do so. Lloyd can’t get in there by himself. And he doesn’t have the tools to remove the anomaly…

The stream of reasoning was interrupted by the siren, which loudly and mutterly tightened one note.

– Danger, – the Nomad muttered, pushing the scientists away.

– What is it? Are we under attack?

Ignoring the questions, the hooded figure headed to the far side of the “island”, towards the fuselage of the former airliner with a machine gun mounted on the roof. Running down the extension ladder, the nomad saw the Lunatics rushing to the city on high-speed buggies, and then, on the horizon, a train of Firestarters in the orange glow of death.

At the first sounds of the alarm the “Dawn’s Children” ran to the armoured vehicles parked inside the “island”. The Nomads poured out of the tarpaulin-covered tents and quickly dispersed into firing positions converted from ancient AA guns. The nomad negotiator broke into the cabin of the liner and quickly headed for the ammo depot. But just as he touched the bundle of ammo belts, a cold spike jabbed him in the back of the head.

– Freeze. Do something stupid and you’re dead, – an unfamiliar voice commanded with a noticeable accent.

The nomad slowly turned - a strong guy in a mask with a dragon grin stood in front of him. He must have been waiting for the victim for a while, hidden in the dark compartment where the ammunition boxes were stored.

– How... did... you... manage... to... get... past... the... roadblock? – The nomad muttered, forcing out the words.

– You talk about a bunch of idiots on checkpoint? They are no obstacle for the dragon, – the scout replied complacently.

The nomad’s gaze seemed impassive from behind the thick observation glasses, but he stared at the spy head-on as if trying to work out who he had appeared in the camp, what he might have learned and whom he had managed to inform...

The stranger roughly grabbed the prisoner by the collar of his hood.

– The Syndicate wants you to give knowledge. And now the creature will have to come with me.

Hello, survivors!

We receive quite a lot of questions about the crafting recipes for new parts of the “Syndicate” faction: “Camber” wheels and “Omni” chassis. Why are the requirements for the amount of chassis in its recipes reduced?

We’d like to note that this is a temporary offer and such recipes are relevant only during the current season. Upon its completion, the production of both “Camber” “Omni” will require 2 pts. of each chassis from a recipe.

Make sure to produce the desired chassis before the end of the “Syndicate” season! Good luck in battles!
