Empyrion - Galactic Survival - EmpyrionGame
Hi Galactic Survivalists!

We have just released Alpha 3.3, which is focused on bugfixing, stability and small improvements. For example, we significantly reduced lagging / rubber-banding of vessels on a dedicated server, fixed the problem that the infinite drone wave setting did not work, ensured that the player does not die in a cockpit through explosion damage as long as the cockpit is intact and fixed several other bugs. In addition, we added the effective range of a weapon to the HUD - so you know exactly how far a weapon shots on a particular planet and integrated several other changes & improvements. See below for the full list of the changes and improvements.

Don’t forget and make use of the upcoming features survey to give us an idea which of the features we plan to add in the coming months would be most desirable for YOU: http://survey.empyriongame.com/index.php/597715

The full list of possible features can be found attached to this news: http://empyriononline.com/threads/gamescom-2016-recap-and-upcoming-features.7250

Hi Galactic Survivalists!

Gamescom Recap
Gamescom 2016 was a total blast! Thanks to our friends at Lenovo and ESL, we could showcase Empyrion on the big stage of the Lenovo booth. We had several show matches on stage where the devs played together with people from the public. It was an amazing experience for us and very motivating to see your enthusiasm for the game! Thanks to everyone who came to the booth and shared their thoughts and ideas with us.

For all the "Show us photos!" requests that are piling up in our inboxes, we have prepared a short Gamescom trailer and an photo album for you.

Video:

http://imgur.com/a/7I4ti

A big thank you to Lenovo Gamestate for making this happen and thanks a lot to everyone out there playing and helping to improve Empyrion. Nothing of this would have been possible without your continuing support of the game and the team. We are lucky to have such an amazing community!

Upcoming Features and Survey
A lot of our players have asked for a roadmap and want to know how the development of "Empyrion - Galactic Survival" will proceed in the coming months. What is on the agenda? Which features will be added? Which changes and additions are planned?

Development is a dynamic process for an Indie game, especially in an Alpha stage. Many unforeseen things can happen. Features may need to get pushed back because they do not work out as expected, while other features may turn out to be quite easy to implement. As a consequence, a static roadmap would not be efficient at this point of the development cycle, and instead, we decided to give you a list of possible major and smaller features that could make it into the game. But instead of just listing these features up here, we decided to offer you a possibility to let us know what are YOUR most wanted features for Empyrion:

http://survey.empyriongame.com/index.php/597715

By completing this short survey, you will give us valuable feedback that will help us prioritize the different features. If you do not want to do the survey, we have listed all the features below in alphabetical order. Please note that the listed features are "only" those that will create new gameplay or will directly affect larger parts of the game. We did not add all the rebalancing, new blocks and convenience features we are about to add to the game!

Thanks in advance for taking the time completing the survey. We are looking forward to your feedback and comments!

Hi Galactic Survivalists,

We have just released another hotfix because we identified major performance problems when flying with large vessels on a dedicated server (performance issues were noticeable also for other players on the playfield). This resulted in severe lagging/stuttering of vessel movements. To improve the situation, we temporarily switched off the colliders of flying vessels. The downside of this performance workaround is that you cannot collide with another moving vessel (or vessel that has a player in the cockpit). So if you want to dock with your SV/HV to a CV you have to ask the pilot to temporarily exit the cockpit. We are working with high priority on a fix - but for now you should notice a significant gain in performance.

Changelog: Alpha 3.2.1 (Build 560)

Changes / Improvements:
- Reduced lags of moving ships and improved performance when other vessels are moving in a playfield
- Added explosion to small and large generator (BA, CV) when destroyed

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed POI shooting through terrain (SP only) - you must start a new game for this fix to take effect
- Fixed motorbike bouncing when disembarking (MP only)
- Fixed weapon bobbing when exiting a cockpit with weapon in hand (MP only)
- Fixed error that randomly appeared on planets with lightning and thunder effect (MP only)
