Hello!

We have released a new update (Pre-Alpha 2.1.0) with new player models and basic player customization. You can choose between a female and a male character. In addition, you can select 2 colors for your character.

In addition, we fixed some bugs and improved several other things as documented in the CHANGELOG for Pre-Alpha 1.2.0:

- New player models (male and female)
- Simple character customization: you can choose gender and two colors
- Added sounds for female character

- When game crashes due to error, now better protection against savegame losses
- Added gun fire effects to rocket launchers and laser-based weapons
- Added new attack sound for "Harley Davidson Monster" (the creature with the multiple serpent heads that attacks during Omicron night)
- Bases on Moon, Aestus and Ningues now attack player
- Dismantling of Container on Escape Pod now also gives resources
- Added hint in Video Options if Fullscreen mode cannot be selected due to wrong aspect ratio
- Re-sorted Option tabs so that Video and Audio are side by side

- Fixed: Constructor / FoodProcessor Inventory only showed 8 instead of 9 item rows
- Fixed turret bug after resuming game
- Fixed bug that rockets and laser weapons did not collide with close objects
- Fixed bug that removing last block (e.g. after dismantling Escape Pod) causes an error

Known Issues:
- Internal error is thrown (instead of a error message) if Server and Client have different versions when connecting in multiplayer

- Fixed player name bug and save game bug: now not allowed characters (e.g., ? ) cannot be included in the player name or name of new game any more (before it caused a crash when starting a new game)
- Fixed problem that you could shoot when being in the passenger seat (error when zooming with sniper)
- Fixed bug that FPS drops significantly if several large capital vessels are close together
- Fixed problem with flare of drones not showing correctly when zooming with assault rifle and other scoped weapons
- Fixed problem that error dialog was not shown in all cases (now debugging will be easier for us to track bugs)
- Removed cockpit from crashed ship on Moon (error when changing core and trying to access cockpit)

We have uploaded a new version to Steam (Pre-Alpha 1.2.1), which is the Release Candidate 1 for the Wednesday release on Steam. We would really need your help to test this version and find any deal breakers (major bugs) - it is the last effort before the official Steam release. We will follow the bug report section closely. Thank you already in advance.

In the new version, we have integrated AI in space. In particular, we have now activated the Space Drones that you know from the Launch Trailer. In addition, we have implemented a new player spawning system that allows you to choose different spawn points after you die. With this new spawning system, we hope to prevent any "game over" situations.

Just a few months ago we included Empyrion – Galactic Survival [official site] in our much revered list of PC Games Of 2015 Wot Could Conceivably Be Good. Imagine a game that basically appeals entirely to the reptilian part of Jim’s brain that can only experience joy through games that take place in the vacuum abyss of space, in which you hop planets and trade space stuff and fight with your space things.
