It has been two weeks since our release! The world will never be the same. We've been working really hard this whole time fixing bugs and adding highly requested QoL features. For example, this button that allows you to put all of the gadget parts with a simple click of a button made its way to yesterday's update 📦



So what's next? We are naturally going to be dedicating a good chunk of our lives to improving and expanding the game during the upcoming months. And it won't be long: the first free content update with more story, a new character, and a brand new gadget, with news coming on September 14. Less than a month away!



This update is going to be sort of outside-the-box, and I'm pretty sure you are going to love it. As for the long-term plans, we will also share some sort of roadmap on September 14. But first:

Hey everyone! The last few days were crazy. On behalf of our small team, a huge THANK YOU for supporting our game, for your raving reviews, and tons of valuable feedback. The launch has exceeded all our expectations, and we’re very excited for the future of ReStory. We have so many ideas of what to do moving forward, and we will share more details and stats soon, but for now we just wanted to highlight that you - our community - are the reason it was all possible. Now, second thing important for many of you: we want to address the topic of Steam backgrounds the quality of which appeared to be disappointing. We heard you loud and clear regarding these assets. We stand by the fact that there wasn't any genAI used in the game itself, but community items are not a part of the game. They are a separate thing which was done by an external outsource artist whom we shouldn't have trusted; we won't work with that artist any more, and we admit that we should’ve been more vigilant in reviewing those assets in the first place.

What are we going to do about it? Unfortunately, the Steam backend systems do not allow us to just revoke and replace the background arts immediately. Nevertheless, we have now initiated a review process to go over all adjacent assets created to support the game and we will be replacing the backgrounds with the new versions (made by a trusted artist) as soon as we can. So please give us some time while we’re making sure everything is up to standard. (UPDATE: All backgrounds have been replaced with the new versions )

As we’re writing this, the game has just crossed 15,000 concurrent players on Steam in less than 24 hours since the launch. It’s unbelievable! These numbers would not be possible without all the support you've given us since we first revealed ReStory.
