In the early days of spring, as the sun peeks over the hills and rivers take on a verdant hue, the notorious Snakeheads emerge, causing chaos and scattering fish in their wake. But fear not, brave Angler, for you alone hold the power to restore peace to the Fishing Planet world, much like St.Patrick banished serpents from Ireland.
Today marks the start of one of the most anticipated events of the year and first things first - you need a cool outfit for the Syt. Patrick’s Day party! Our new anglers have the chance to embark on missions and earn our all time favorite Leprechaun Frock Coat, Paddy's Top Hat and the Green Shamrock Glasses with the shiny St. Patrick's Song motorboat.
Meanwhile, seasoned anglers who already earned all of those items in the previous years, eagerly await the opportunity to amass hundreds of Baitcoins by reeling in event fish from the St. Patrick green waters. With the ocean map nearing its final stages, it's a wise move to keep earning those Baitcoins for what lies ahead in the nearest future.
In search of the Lucky Horseshoe: Rainbow Chase
Harness the power of ancient craftsmanship with the Gold Horseshoe Stringer to rid the waters of those pesky Snakeheads! Venture to any pond where festive boat races are held—Emerald, Tiber, Saint-Croix, San Joaquin, Sander Baggersee, or Blue Crab Island—emerge victorious, and collect parts of the Gold Horseshoe Stringer. Also, obtain Clover Coins to pay Leprechauns for Stringer repair.
The Magic Cauldrons
Follow the rainbow to uncover the elusive Silver and Golden pots—they can manifest anywhere! These enchanted cauldrons bestow event baits for catching event fish, as well as credits, Clover Coins, or Baitcoins.
The Lucky Horseshoes
Venture into the surroundings to uncover Lucky Horseshoes and unlock a trove of special items! From event baits to extraordinary treasures like the Lucky Charm Catapult, Leprechaun's Chest, Triskele Rod Stand, Kayak Irish Rover, and even the illustrious St. Patrick's Song Motor Boat. May the luck of the Irish shamrock be with you!
What's more, most of the Pots and Lucky Horseshoes are accessible to all, including those who completed all the event missions in previous years. Keep your eyes peeled for these magical treasures and reap the rewards!
Let’s get down to our event fish
Event lures are your ticket to attracting those Sneakerheads in no time! But remember, for a secure capture of every last one, make sure to equip the Gold Horseshoe Stringer.
You get 1 Clover Coin for completing the Leprechaun's Favor missions, but even if you did complete all of them, you can still enjoy the thrill of catching event fish and earning a shiny golden Baitcoin for each one!
Enhance your luck by using event baits, the delicious Drunken Worm, Bully Grasshopper and Pickled Januari Palm Fruit, which greatly increase your chances of catching Rowdy Bass, Leprechaun Fish, and Buzzman Tambaqui.
You've got until March 18th at 10:00 UTC to complete all the event missions, giving you a total of 11 days to conquer them all!
If you're looking to boost your chances of success this year, consider enlisting some extra help with our St. Patrick’s pack.
It includes event rods, reels, and event baits to aid you on your mission together with two pond passes and licenses.
For even more assistance, check out our Green Fortune Pack.
Not only does it feature all the event lures and equipment you'll need, but it also comes with a generous supply of 777 Clover Coins, 7 pond passes and licenses for event locations, the Golden Horseshoe Stringer to immediately combat those pesky Snakeheads, and the unique Shamrock Headlamp to uncover additional Leprechaun pots brimming with gold.
In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, let the adventures begin!
Whether you're aiming to complete all the event missions or simply seeking some angling excitement, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Gather your gear, embrace the luck of the Irish, and let's make some unforgettable memories on the Fishing Plane!
As we near the final stages of developing the new ocean map, we're eager to keep you in the loop about our progress. We understand your anticipation for the release, and rest assured, it's our top priority too. With this update, we're introducing several exciting new features, which is why we're taking the time to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Today, we're here to offer you a sneak peek behind the scenes at the Fishing Together feature. But remember, this is just the first glimpse of what's to come in our Saltwater DevDiaries series. In the upcoming diaries, we'll dive deeper into details about the location, fish species, and new saltwater tackles.
Fishing together with your friends on the same boat has been one of the most requested features ever! And we couldn't agree more. There's something truly special about navigating the ocean waters with your fellow anglers, developing a shared fishing strategy, and sharing in the experience while enjoying breathtaking sunsets. So get ready to see it all firsthand—we can't wait to show you more!
Location
Nestled in the East China Sea, close to the Japanese Archipelago, lies a picturesque gem known as Kaiji No Ri. This small island, embraced by the waves of the ocean, boasts an enchanting landscape that captivates the senses. With its beautiful views and serene atmosphere, Kaiji No Ri is a haven for anglers seeking both the thrill of the catch and the tranquility of nature's embrace.
The new boats
When it comes to ocean fishing, you'll need a sturdier vessel to tackle the waves. For now, you'll have two options at your disposal. You can opt to rent the Tsurihito™ Scutum™ Fishing Yacht, designed to accommodate two people onboard during the fishing together session. You and your friend can fish together using two rod holders each, while also holding an additional rod in your hands simultaneously.
Alternatively, if you're the proud owner of the sleek Tsurihito™ Volans™ Fishing Yacht, you'll have the luxury of bringing along three additional friends. Hence, it will accommodate a maximum of 4 players onboard simultaneously for a Fishing Together adventure.
Fishing Together
If you're the host inviting friends, you'll be the Captain of the yacht. As Captain, you'll enjoy some cool bonuses, like getting to navigate the boat first or fast forward time for everyone onboard. However, with great power comes responsibility. You'll also be tasked with finding the best fishing spots and ensuring everyone has a great time.
Your friends will receive the invitation and can accept it right away. However, it's important to ensure that the location is available for all the players, everyone has enough credits to cover the travel expenses to the island, licenses, and the cost of the stay. Just like in real life, it's all about planning ahead and making sure everyone is ready for the adventure.
The first thing you would want to try is cruising around the island! The new map is going to be massive, offering plenty of space to explore. With dimensions of 20 by 20 kilometers, it covers an enormous area of 400 square kilometers. To put it into perspective, envision the size of all 24 existing maps in the game combined and then multiplied by at least 20 times. Plus, you'll have access to boats that are faster than the ones currently available in the game, making your cruising experience even more exhilarating.
The view from both the captain's bridge and the lower deck is stunning. No matter where you are on the boat, you can always see each other and communicate easily in the Fishing Together chat.
You'll have the freedom to switch places on the boat if there is at least one free spot, plus, the captain has the option to allow other players to take the wheel and navigate the yacht, adding an extra layer of teamwork.
As you sail, you'll encounter various sights along the way, from regattas and ships to birds gracefully soaring overhead. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of dolphins or a huge whale swimming by! We will reveal more of those in the upcoming DevDiaries.
All players aboard the yacht will experience the same time and weather conditions, which the host can select for the entire group. Additionally, the yacht will feature a storage space, eliminating the need for individual keepnets. Each angler onboard will have access to about 2000 kg of storage, ensuring ample room for everyone's catch.
As the upcoming map will be significantly larger compared to all other locations currently available in the game, spanning approximately 20 square kilometers, the exciting addition to the game will be special navigation buoys. These buoys can be strategically installed in preferred locations on the water, allowing for quick navigation to these spots with a simple click on the map. This feature will streamline the process of locating and accessing areas with abundant fish, helping anglers save time and maximize their fishing experience.
Fish will dynamically move around the shores of the island based on various natural factors, presenting a challenge for anglers to locate them. To assist in this endeavor, players will have the opportunity to complete a special mission and receive a Saltwater Fish Finder as a reward.
One more great thing about the Fishing Together feature is that every player earns additional XP for every fish caught when fishing with friends. If you're angling with your club mates, you receive extra XP for both club fishing and fishing together on one boat.
And last for today’s Diary, but definitely not least, is a new fishing method. By casting your rods and placing them in the rod holders, then slowly moving the boat, you'll engage in trolling. This method involves dragging baits through the water to attract large ocean fish.
To ensure an optimal trolling experience, the captain won't be able to ride the boat fast while the rods are cast. This restriction helps maintain a steady pace, ensuring the boat doesn't move too fast and disrupt the fishing process.
There's nothing quite like the delight of fishing together with your friends aboard. Therefore, in the future, we are planning to expand the Fishing Together feature to all the Bass Boats in the game.
With shared experiences, a lovely backdrop, and the challenge to find fish on a huge ocean location, every moment promises to be fun. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming update, as we continue to unveil the new features that await you. Until then, happy fishing and tight lines!
*All visual content in this DevDiary is crafted to showcase the upcoming features; however, there may be slight differences upon the actual release of the update
We're here to announce that the First Season of Club Leagues, the Icebreaking Angler Rivals, has drawn to a close. You can check out all the winners in the Leagues Tab within the game. Although there are too many to mention across various platforms in one post, their names will be marked in the Fishing Planet history.
First and foremost, a huge congratulations to all the winners! We extend our gratitude to all who participated, as well as to the clubs that persevered until the very end. You have shown an impressive dedication, strength, and persistence.
It’s been a long journey and we understand that the road hasn't been without its bumps. Throughout the season, we've been diligently gathering and forwarding your feedback to our developers. While we refrained from making mid-season adjustments, we carefully considered all of your comments, suggestions and ideas for future improvements. We deeply appreciate your willingness to share your opinions and help us enhance the game.
Looking ahead, we've decided that a comprehensive overhaul of the Club Leagues feature is necessary. We intend to take the time to thoroughly review all your feedback and devise improvements in your gaming experience. Given that our primary focus at the moment is the upcoming ocean map, which we're eager to release as soon as possible knowing your excitement, we've made the decision to give the Club Leagues our undivided attention after the launch of the new map.
We hope you'll stand with us on this decision, recognizing it as the best path forward for now. The Club Leagues will come back after the improvements that we will take care of while you’ll be enjoying Saltwater fishing.
Regarding the new map, we sincerely appreciate your patience. Rest assured, we'll be providing a series of Dev Diaries detailing the features awaiting for you, starting with a focus on the Fishing Together feature in just a few days.
Plus, mark your calendars! Today at 7:30 pm Central US Time, Fishing Planet’s Game Designer Andrii will be live on {LINK REMOVED}Bo Angel's YouTube channel, answering all your questions about the ocean map. Don't miss out!
Thank you for your continued support. With the warmest regards, Fishing Planet Team
