We've updated our Steamworks delivery of the .NET redistributable framework from 4.5.1 to 4.6 for anticipated changes in the SONAR 2016.07 update.

Some users will see a 80mb download of the Redistributables, but if it's already installed it'll be a transparent change.

Cakewalk is happy to announce our Japanese localization is now available on Steam!

This localization covers:

Users who have already installed SONAR and would like to switch languages can do the following:

• Right-Click on SONAR in your Steam Library
  
• Go to Properties
  
• Go to the 'Language' Tab
  
• Select your preferred language
  
• Switch to the 'Local Data' Tab
  
• Click the [Verify Integrity of Application Cache...] button.
  
• Allow Steam to finish the process, then launch SONAR.

This update applies to SONAR Steam Edition, Professional, and Platinum

With update 6 comes our first pass at Russian Localization! Localization is limited to the following parts of the application right now.

SONAR is a large application and the localization process can be quite daunting. A few things to take note of:

• The Help Module will still display in English at this time. This is similar to a few of our other localization options (Italian etc)
  
• As the user base expands in these regions, we'll expand the scope and completeness of localization.
  
• If you see any issues in the translation/display of the Russian localization, please let us know in the Technical Support Forum!

• With a single click and swipe, you can now engage or disengage multiple track controls across multiple tracks in one gesture. Solo or mute an entire drum set, all your guitars, or all your background vocals. With Smart Swipe you can quickly enable/disable controls on multiple tracks by simply clicking a button in one track, then dragging across adjacent tracks without releasing the mouse button. Only buttons that match the clicked button’s state will change. This is possible in both the Track and Console view using a variety of controls including lanes.

We've just re-released 3 of our premium ProChannel modules. Owners who previously purchased them under X3 should see them in the new ProChannel standalone app.

Make sure you launch the ProChannel App at least once after the new modules download. This finalizes installation.

Re: CA-2A - We still plan for this to return to Steam. Though we want to take a binary fix first, to improve the user experience.

Included is an updated Tungsten theme that contains the following changes:

• Non-segmented meters have increased contrast.
  
• The Now Time marker in the time ruler has more depth.
  
• The current track name background is orange.
  
• Track name colors are consistent between the Track view and Console view.
  
• Track view menu bar uses the correct colors.
  
• Various text color changes.

SONAR gets a fresh new look for the May update with the new “Tungsten” theme, which features a darker look, provides more contrast with switched settings, and adds control “rings” to show knob positions at a glance. We've also updated the Color Picker to offer more color choices, as well as pin the track name, color strip, and WAI in the console view when scrolling vertically through the Console. In addition, we've made fixes to the new LP Mastering Plugins and ACT.

SONAR 2016.04 brings three exciting new plug-ins to SONAR.

Guitarists (and bassists) can look forward to Overloud TH3 Cakewalk Edition, which is available in all versions of SONAR. It features more refined and detailed algorithms, improved cabinet IR responses, and a classic bass amp emulation.

Also included with Professional and Platinum are the new linear-phase mastering-quality plug-ins for multiband compression (LP-MB) and EQ (LP-EQ). Built from the ground up, the latest versions are a new design with superior performance, more options, and a more informative user interface.

In addition, there are new fixes and enhancements to the core program.

This is a free update for SONAR Steam Edition, Professional, and Platinum.

Hello Everyone,

SONAR 2016 is now live to the World on STEAM. There's a few new things in this version that we'd like to point your attention to.

• Dota 2 Music Pack Template - We've partnered with Valve to bring you a template which will aid users in creating original music content for Dota 2.
  
• Simplified Chinese Localized Support - We're now offering our official Simplified Chinese version on STEAM.
  
• Analytic Support - We've added anonymous reporting to help us improve the customer experience. A user can opt out entirely or opt in to share personalized non-anonymous data with us.
  
• Rolling Updates Pre-Release Branch - With the new App we're offering early access to next month's updates. This month the 2016.04 update will only be available for a short time before we make it the default branch.
  
• Rollback Beta Branches - As with last year, a user can roll back to a previous month's branch in case of issues. This no longer requires un-checking monthly DLC.
  
• Various STEAM Install script Enhancements - We've identified and corrected a few areas where install scripts could fail or not properly install SONAR.
  
• Standalone ProChannel App for Professional and Platinum Users - Pro/Plat users receive a standalone library item which delivers ProChannel modules. In the near future we'll be again offering our Premium modules as DLC.
  
• Legacy Rapture's and Dimension's built with Rapture Session/Pro - Since Rapture LE/1.2.2 and Dimension LE/Pro share similar content with Rapture Session, and all SONAR user's receive Session, we've combined delivery into 1 library item.
  
• Stand alone or Upgrade Installation - SONAR (2016) was designed to be installed standalone over existing SONAR (2015) installations. If you upgrade existing installs you'll benefit from a diminished download time.
