Put on your game faces people. It's time to be a player versus other players! “Power, Prestige, and PvP!” is a limited-time bonus event that doubles the rate you earn Prestige. Which isn’t, like it may sound, indicative of your recognition among the local monocle-laden nobility—no, in WildStar Prestige is PvP currency.

From September 30 at 2am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on October 3, you’ll earn Prestige twice as fast.

You can queue for Battlegrounds starting at level 6 through the Content Finder (press the N key), or you can start an Arena team for practice or ranked matches, which begin at level 30 and 50 respectively. You can even take party in the most dangerous game of all: world PvP. Keep in mind that full social leadership options (such as the ability to invite others to social groups, like Guilds or Arena teams) require Signature status, or reaching the 1,600 Cosmic Point reward.

Be sure to keep an eye on your Prestige—it caps at 12,000 points until you spend some. Visit the vendor regularly in Thayd (for Exiles) or Illium (if you're with the Dominion) to spend your Prestige regularly and wisely, and you can keep dominating the unlucky chuckleheads that made the mistake of going toe-to-toe with you.

See you on the Nexus battlefield!

Unlock & Load

If you’ve ever wondered what that shiny chest is at the end of an instance, or shrugged it off because you didn’t have a key to peek inside, listen up!

Every savvy Nexus adventurer should know that Lockboxes provide a perfect means of padding your inventory with quality bonus items, after all other loot has dropped and been dealt. These chests spawn upon completing Veteran Expeditions, Veteran Adventures, and Veteran Dungeons, as well as defeating world bosses. In addition, you’ll earn a lockbox for completing any of the three Public Events in Star-Comm Basin, plus Siege of the Lightspire (the Defile), Guardians of the Grove (Blighthaven), and Hellrose Bowl and Containment R-12 (Malgrave).

And—coming to Nexus with the 1.6.1 game update Wednesday, September 28—there’s also a chance for a lockbox to drop for your Raid group each time you kill a boss in Genetic Archives and Datascape. It’s up to your team to determine how to dole these Raid caches out when they drop from a boss, as they can be traded or even sold on the Auction House.

What’s in the Lockbox?

Standard (non-Raid) lockboxes are guaranteed to contain gear and foci for all levels of players. Level 50 players will always receive a piece of ilvl 100 gear and a cosmetic item, as well as variable amounts and qualities of rune set foci. If you’re not yet level 50, the drops will be scaled down to your level.

Raid lockboxes contain class set gear correspondent with the Raid in which they drop, variable amounts and qualities of class foci, as well as the potential for some assortment of rune foci and cosmetic items from the same sets found in standard lockboxes.

Ultimately, lockboxes are there to give you an extra shot at significantly boosting your character’s power, as well as a chance at bonus OmniBits, Service Tokens, and a plethora of cosmetic items.

Where My Keys?

Of course, a lockbox wouldn’t be very useful without a key! You can collect keys in a number of different ways to ensure you always have one handy before warping into the fray. Signature subscribers receive one free Lockbox Key per week as a perk of membership. In addition, anyone can purchase Lockbox Keys from the In-Game Store using OmniBits (a free currency earned in-game alongside XP) or Protobucks.

Ready to jump into WildStar and start unlocking some Lockboxes? You can unleash these treasures—and a ton more—totally for free!

Update: An earlier version of this article implied that the changes to standard lockboxes and addition of raid lockboxes are already live. They'll be implemented with the 1.6.1 game update currently slated for release Wednesday, September 28.

Nexus is full of nefarious baddies and intergalactic space monsters—so many things better witnessed, experienced, survived, and slain for loot while in the company of dear friends (or even just a few strangers). There’s never a better time to group up than during the Nexus with Friends event!

Renown is a currency you earn from completing multiplayer PvE content, and during the Nexus with Friends event you’ll earn double Renown when grouping up for expeditions, adventures, and dungeons. Is friendship magic? Who knows, but there’s safety—and Renown—in numbers.

Once you’ve saved up enough Renown and are ready for a shopping spree, visit Renown Vendors Agent Tetch at Fates Landing in Illium, or Sergeant Syrrus at Academy Corner in Thayd. These vendors are also beamed directly to your housing plot via hologram for instant access and gratification. With the right amount of Renown you can buy costumes, dyes, décor, mounts, pets, toys, and more.

Your Guild can also unlock access to Flasks that will increase your rate of XP or Reputation gains, or even boost your Run Speed (to name a few). Check the Guild Perks tab in your Social panel for details.

Nexus with Friends runs from September 16 at 2:01am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on September 19. So group up and get ready to maximize your Renown!

The Coalition of Galactic Scientists (CoGS)—a group of scientists from both factions who believe the search for the missing Eldan is too important to let a galactic conflict get in the way—are looking to further their research into Sim-Cores. These holographic simulations left behind by the Eldan not only allow adventurers to experience simulated stories, but could offer clues as to the disappearance of the Eldan. To this end, the CoGS are offering rewards for anyone who can complete Sim-Core simulations (widely known as Adventures).

By completing Adventures during Sim-Chase you’ll earn Hardlight Shards—solid pieces of data extracted from Sim-Cores—and trade them to Exchanger Krova for CoGS Sim-Cards. And CoGS Sim-Cards aren’t just for show, there are those in CoGS who need them to further their own research, and are willing to trade rare cases for them. Trader Jonjo can be found in the capital cities to trade your CoGS Sim-Cards for rare housing plot décor pieces.

Of course good ol’ NCoin or OmniBits can get you CoGS Sim-Cards in bundles from the In-Game Store, as well as two unique cases only available during select times of the event, which may contain a vast array of different and incredible items.
