Steam Controller - JeffB


We’re excited to announce that over half a million Steam Controllers have been sold. With every controller that comes online we get the opportunity to get more feedback on how to make the Steam Controller even better. We’ve been hard at work with the community, and wanted to share some of the recent improvements we’ve made together:

Play more new games out of the box
Developers are now fine-tuning their games to work great with the Steam Controller at launch. Recent examples include DOOM, XCOM 2 and Dark Souls III, and more are coming soon.

Same experience from desktop to couch
You can now configure and use the controller from your desktop, including the pop-up keyboard to communicate with your non-Steam programs.



Rumble Pass-Through
The Steam Controller can now use its Force Reactors to capture and reproduce the rumble effects from your favorite games.

Tune once, play anywhere
Create templates from your favorite settings and apply them across all your games.

Uninterrupted action
Create multiple “Action Sets” and switch between them on the fly. For instance, in GTA V or Just Cause 3 it’s easy to switch between walking, driving and flying controls with a single button.



Works great with any game
We’ve enhanced support for games purchased outside of Steam. Once you add the game to your library you can edit and share your configurations with your friends just like any other Steam game.

Steam VR Support
Full Steam Controller support in VR Game Theater mode, including using the motion controls as a steering wheel.

Coming soon: Even more configuration power
You will soon be able to use Activators to assign actions to press-and-hold, double click, toggle and more. For example, in DOOM you can cycle through all weapons by pressing a button or double tap it to bring up your BFG.

We'll continue to add features and functionality going forward, so be sure to keep giving us feedback on what would make the Steam Controller even better.

DARK SOULS™ III - Kimundi
Ashen Ones,

Dark Souls III will be updated to Regulation Version 1.07. The update will improve the Password matching feature.

The servers will also be offline for maintenance on May 20th from 10am to 12pm CEST.

Main Adjustments:
  1. Adjusted the efficiency of the Great shield category
  2. Adjusted the consuming FP of the Magic Spell Category
  3. Adjusted the efficiency of the category below:
    - Dragon Slayer’s Axe
    - Crescent Axe
    - Dark Drift
    - Washing Pole
    - Moonlight Great Sword
  4. Fixed the shield penetration rate of some attacks in the scythe category
  5. Fixed the stamina attack of some weapon categories.
  6. Improved the matching of the Blade of the Darkmoon and the Blue Sentinels covenants.
  7. Improved the password matching rate
  8. Improved other game balance
  9. Several game flaws fixed.

We have heard your concerns about being victims of deviant behavior while playing online multiplayer, we have released a patch solving some of the issues you can encounter. Other updates will follow to continue this work, we will keep you posted in due times!

Today’s update have solved the following issues you may encounter in the Online Mode:
  • Being sent immediately to your world
  • Being sent to the Firelink Shrine
  • Being changed in full Dragon Body Status

We’d also like to remind you that our Server Team is checking all the accounts before penalizing players. If you received an “Invalid Data” message, please refer to the following article: https://support.bandainamcoent.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/507/458/dark-souls-iii---restrictions-and-warning-messages-what-do-they-mean. Players that fall victim of online issues will not be penalized if they are innocent.

A new update for Dark Souls III will deployed on Steam on Thursday, April 28 at 8am UTC/ 1am PST.

The maintenance will require approximately 2 hours of downtime (est. end 10am UTC/ 3am PST).

Please find below the list of changes:
  • Item collection during multiplayer while accessing NPC and Covenant Alter is now working as intended.
  • Conditions for optional events is eased.
  • Conditions to get Rosaria’s Finger is eased.
  • If they haven’t visited the Untended Grave, players will not be teleported there.
  • Kicks cannot be parried.
  • The Crystal Sage will appropriately re-appear even after he has warped.
  • The Dragonslayer Armour won’t die before the battle.
  • Knight Slayer Tsorig will no longer gesture unintendedly.
  • Siegward of Catarina will now be able to properly rescue Greirat once conditions are met.
  • If the player is equipped with a ring that increases Max HP, stats will now be properly reflected when opening the equipment screen.
  • The voice chat icon will now be displayed properly under the covenant panel.
  • Items, bonfire and the “Quit Game” option are now appropriately active even when disconnecting online.
  • If the game disconnects during a multiplayer session, it will no longer crash and return to the title screen.
  • Other issues causing crashes and returning to the title screen have been fixed.
  • Adjustments of the balance of game, improvements of performance and various bug fixes have been made.

After the update is completed, the details will appear on the title screen as follows:
