Hired Ops - John Winters

We would like to give you a little update on our plans for the development of the game, in addition to the transition to free-to-play, which we are preparing now, we have planned two major patches that should make gameplay more interesting and deep.

1. Global class leveling

We have received feedback from you on the results of the last stage of testing and now, after the analysis, we realized that many of you liked in-match leveling in the updated HiredOps, but also many loved the branches of skills in Contract Wars or the development tree as in the original version of HiredOps.

After discussing it with active community members, we developed a design that allows us to combine new in-match progression and good old global leveling. We will briefly share with you the main concepts of this idea:
  • increasing the level of the class, by performing contracts and performing other actions you will unlock combat skills from the leveling tree of one of the classes.

  • new combat skills will affect the passive characteristics of the player such as accuracy, recoil, mobility, etc or improve, modify, perks, weapons purchased by the player in the match

  • each player can unlock all the available class skills, but he'll be able to use a limited number of such abilities one loadout.
Thus, the game will receive the deeper customization of the character's skills, depending on the skills and weapons in the loadout, you will build your strategy for the perks and devices inside the match. At the same time, the balance between the players of the first and maximum levels will not be broken, because the number of combat skills will be the same for all.

2. Clan system.

The second major update will contain the clan system, and we want to make it so that you would be interested and able to make a profit by gathering in clans. The following mechanics will be added in the first version of the clan system:
  • Role system: head, deputy, officers
  • Rank system: the rank of the player within the clan, depending on his contribution to the development of this clan
  • clan contracts
  • clan economy
  • clan boosters
  • creation of the clan logo
  • patches with the logo of the clan on the player models

These are the very first functional updates that we plan to make after the transition to free-to-play, in addition, we are constantly working on content updates, and soon you will be able to play on a new location.

We also inform you that this week we will have a patch, the contents of which will be covered in an additional message later. Stay in touch.

Currency earning

At the start of the match, all players get $ 100, if the player joins in the middle of the match, he receives an amount equivalent to the average value of the total value of the player in the opposing team. In the match currency is earned by the following actions:
  • Killing opponents
  • Series of murders
  • Capturing/neutralizing a point in TC mode
  • Installation/decontamination of the beacon in TDS mode
  • Win/lose a round in TDS mode
  • The spot of the enemy with drone/sonar
  • Selection of airdrops in TE mode
  • Death
  • Destroyer with leveled skill FLINT can sell enemy mines, sonars, and weapons of dead operators
In the in-match store it is possible to allocate three big groups:

1. Combat skills, which are two branches of your character: attack and defense, leveling these skills you get to improve your combat characteristics, as well as unlock or improve ammunition.

2. Basic skills, inexpensive improvements, buy it or not that everyone chooses for himself. Each class has a basic skill including radar display, a skill that increases health, as well as a skill that gives a bonus to all your allies.

3. Ammunition is divided into 5 groups:

- Armor plates do not affect the total number of armor but affect its bonuses and debuffs

- Ammunition has three varieties for each class of weapon, you can pick the right ammunition in a specific situation — effective against targets without armor or with it, bullets or improved buckshot for shotguns, etc.

- Grenades and mines — each class has the ability to use 6 different grenades and mines, some of them are available to several classes(fragmentation, smoke, thermal, flashbang), and some, only for one(grenade burning armor, poison grenade, EMP grenade, reinforced mines)

- Special equipment— each class has the ability to use 6 types of devices or special equipment, starting with first-aid kits and boxes with improved ammunition, ending with stimulants, drones, motion detectors, active flashbang grenades, and mortar attacks.

The ultimate special weapons — each class has three unique Ultimates:

The stormtrooper can use a thermal imager, as well as cause mortar support and a drone, throwing off non-lethal mines on the area.

The destroyer can use an automatic saiga with a 20 rounds drum mag and a grenade launcher, and even more, he can spawn in IRONCLAD gear, which is giving him a huge supply of health and armor, as well as a powerful machine gun.

The sniper can use the VSSK "Vykhlop" vanishing any enemy except IRONCLAD, call in a drone with EMP strike destroying all enemy electronics on the map, or launch a drone with a semi-automatic gun installed.

Scout can dress up in the enemy gear, misleading the latter, and destroying enemy forces "from the inside", call in a drone with guided missiles or use a bioreagent, for which the enemies will hate you.

Also, some skills from the branches of attack or defense improve purchased special equipment, for example, there is a skill "Saboteur" for the scout, his drone will be equipped with a grenade launcher, and by leveling perk, "Covert penetration". Additionally, your sonars will work as landmines.

Good day, mercenaries!

Due to the fact that now Hired Ops has changed completely, we decided to write a small guide, in which we will explain the system of contracts and leveling classes.

Contract system

When you first enter the game, your first contract from the instructor is already active; by doing this, you will have access to the “Contracts” tab - here you can accept contracts from an instructor or one of the corporations.

Instructor Contracts

After completing the start contract, the instructor will offer you to complete 4 class contracts - one for each class. After completing such a contract, you will receive a box with equipment suitable for this class and access to the next contract for this class. At the moment, the instructor issues 20 contracts for each class, having completed the last one, you will receive the legendary Master box as a reward.

Corporate Contracts

As soon as you gain access to contracts from corporations, each corporation will offer you to complete only one contract, which is a kind of test of your suitability. After its completion, the corporation will issue your contracts for which you will receive a reward and increase your reputation with this corporation.

Attention! In case of failure of such a contract - you will lose as much reputation with this corporation as you would have received in case of successful completion.

Having accumulated a sufficient amount to increase the level of reputation with the corporation, you will receive a special contract, having fulfilled that, you will increase the level of your reputation for this corporation. Each corporation has 5 levels of reputation, at each subsequent level you open more rare contracts and complex contracts, but the reward for them will be better.

Class arsenal

Now there are 4 classes in the game: Stormtrooper, Destroyer, Scout and Sniper. By participating in matches and fulfilling contracts, you will gain experience for the relevant class, raising its level. As a class increases in the class arsenal, new weapons will become available. Not all weapons require a class level for purchase, in order to purchase some weapons, you will need to reach a certain level of reputation from one of the corporations.

Leveling weapons, getting new mods

Each weapon in the game has up to 11 levels, on each of these levels you will receive 1 attachment for this weapon. In order to increase the level of weapons, you must complete a weapon mission, which will become more complex as the level of weapons increases. In addition, you can use the mods obtained from the boxes that you will receive as a reward for the performance of any contract on weapons.

Hopefully, this guide will help you navigate faster in the updated HiredOps game!

Dear friends!

This update is not just the next patch, but an event that entirely changes our approach to the project. Today we invite everyone into the game. We also would like to announce that Hired Ops will soon become a free-to-play game.
https://youtu.be/UOIfUOypwp8
Our primary reason for making it free-to-play is to get as broad an audience as possible by reaching various types of players with a minimal barrier of entry. Hired Ops is genuinely free to play with no hidden fees and no fancy deceptive tricks designed to compel you to go on a spending spree. Every single part of the fundamental game experience is free. On top of the base game, we will have monthly live updates, which will include lots of new content, contracts, weapons, items, new classes, and perks. Players who already have a copy of the game at the time of the transition to the new model will receive a form of gratitude for your support and trust in us.

During this transition to the new monetization model, users who have already purchased the game will be rewarded with a bonus, which is several times higher in value than the current game price, as well as unique premium weapons and camouflage for their in-game characters. With this update, all players will receive one legendary chest with legendary mods for every 10th character level achieved in the previous version of the game.

We will tell you more about the in-game store later, but for now we’ll note that the in-game store will mainly be items for customization of your PMCs, their weapons, equipment and appearance, experience boosters and in-game currency, as well as additional load-outs for you, so you can have several sets of gear ready for each class at any time. You don't have to purchase them, but if we have done our job well and you enjoy the experience, then we hope you will.

So, what is the brand new Hired Ops?

Your main task is to seize domination in the mercenary market world, taking part in combat operations and completing contracts in war zones around the world.

During the battle, you can improve your combat skills, buy and use additional weapons, ammunition, and specialized equipment. Use all the available arsenal for your preferred class to make your enemies change their tactics and fight under your terms.

You can expect dynamic firefights in all parts of the world, in seven different locations. A military base in Iran, a ghetto on the outskirts of Bangkok, a railway station in Kazakhstan, a coastal communications station in the Norvinsk region and other locations will become a place for battle and competition between BEAR and USEC operators.

The true mercenary spirit reigns in Hired Ops as each fighter picks suitable contracts, perform the most difficult tasks, and earns a reputation in the private military contractor market. The income, future contracts, and status among the other mercenaries depend only on the player. The higher the reputation the player achieves, the harder the tasks they can receive and collect more rewards.

Players can choose a fighter in one of the four different classes with its developed system of skills, and an arsenal of various weapons with a massive number of modifications. The game offers over 80 pieces of modern small arms weapons and over 100 different modules for them.

We worked hard to create a game that would be as accessible as possible to all players. Our ability to continue development depends entirely on your satisfaction with the gaming experience. We will keep improving the game in which your PMCs will travel the world, develop their history, and all this will be free. For us, this is a huge gamble, but your feedback always was and will always be very important to us. Many of you requested for a free-to-play model, so here it is! Therefore, it is essential that we work together to create the game, and we hope that you will share your experience to make Hired Ops better and better.

We thank all the players who have been with us through all the tests, thank you for your continuous support and feedback, we appreciate it!

Hello, Mercs!

Today, we have the 7th installment of our answers series. Here’s a few questions we have received recently.

Q: Do you plan to have different ammo types for all weapons; not just shotguns?
A: Yes, in a future update all weapons will have various types of ammunition: armor piercing, soft point, tracer, hollow point, incendiary, etc.

Q: Do you plan any developer events planned? How about live streams from time to time?
A: We will definitely hold one stream - on the release of the update, if you like it, and we like it, then we see no reason not to repeat it.

Q: How many weapons are planned?
A: On the release of the update will be about 60 samples of modern small arms.

Q: Tell me more - how many maps and weapons will be in the game at the initial stage, what maps from CW will we have?
A: At the initial stage, 3 new maps for the command modes are planned. From the old maps will remain only the most popular locations for the DM mode.

Thanks again for your questions, support and dedication as we prepare this update. You are the heart and soul of Hired Ops, and we tore it all down and rebuilt it...for you.

Mercenaries! We bring you more answers to your burning questions.

Are there any plans to add the roulette and tasks?

Of course, the Roulette will remain, forever in our memory and hearts, and we will share with you, the contracts in more detail.

With the release of the key update, we decided to breathe new life and meaning into the system of contracts, PMC operatives, and the "Contract Wars" themselves. Now, this is a big, closed, system - the corporations pursue their own interests by giving out suspicious orders on the market. The PMCs are performing them, increasing their reputation, your high reputation gives access to more complex and high-paying contracts. Maximum levels of reputation are welcome because of unique corporate rewards - camouflage, mods, and achievements. In the beginning, three corporations will be available:

KIBA ARMS INTERNATIONAL: An armory and consulting company, with offices in Russia and the USA. They are involved in the manufacturing of custom weapons, made to order, training military specialists of various skill sets (snipers, demolitionists). Recently, it has established itself as a general contractor in various defense departments around the world for the organization of private military operations and security procedures.

RUSTACT WORLDWIDE: Armory company from Moscow, Russia, which, besides developing and modifying weapons, also deals with private security services and training of security and military structures around the world, with the advanced handling of weapons and tactics.

TACTICAL INTERVENTION SOLUTIONS: A company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. This parent company, unites several companies, one of which, is one of the largest customers of private military company services.

Will there be cases in the game? If so, what can be obtained from them?

With cases everything is very simple and transparent. The cases will be. Of them can be obtain camouflage on operatives and weaponry, muzzle, sighting and tactical devices. Now " case” is a form of encouragement of the player for development and pumping within the game. The case can be obtained for a new level by performing the contract, buy in-game currency (which the player received playing the game). From the chests will not fall super-weapons, spheres of immortality or atomic bombers-information 100%

Mercenaries!

We have a report from command:

As you are aware, the alternate universe of Russia 2028 unites three games at the moment, showing us three points on the timeline and Hired Ops is one of them. The story of Hired Ops explores the dramatic chain of events that precedes the tense, Tarkov disaster, and over the course of this story we shall gradually unfold the actions and plot points that eventually lead to such irreversibly dire consequences, and what was the part you, as USEC and BEAR operatives played in them.

Starting with our major re-launch update, we intend to let you discover their story on your own through a series of operations — sets of rules, maps, events and non-stop PvP combat in the interests of transnational corporations and PMCs of the Russia 2028 world. With every new piece of plot-rigged action the tension will grow harder, spawning new flashpoints and changing the old ones forever, giving birth to the new corporations and bringing ruin to old ones, establishing new PMCs. The players will become the immediate drivers of these events, and it will be their joint decisions that will influence which way the Hired Ops universe will go.

Will there be unique rewards, for example, for buying a game in the earliest access, active participation in testing?

Yes, of course! We just have to say” Thank you " to our players, who supported us all these years, helped to test the game and make it better. It would be unfair if we forgot about them. The plan in General looks like this-for all those who will have the game before the release of the key update will be prepared a serious pack of game awards and items that can not be obtained in any other way.
