Note that this Shield is not retroactive. To coincide with the Shield launch, Survival will be free for all players from August 16th to August 22nd!
There is no date to announce for Update 1.8.3, but the "running-in-place" bug has been fixed and we are finalizing the changes to the Striker meta. There are a few other issues we are investigating for the patch as well:
Showstopper bugs
Skirmish Expansion Stash—given to everyone in Update 1.8.3.
Rainbow Six Commendation—will read "Equip 6 different quality pieces of gear (grey/exotic, green, blue, purple, orange and gear set)" to help players with four characters who are unable to earn grey items.
We have one community creation to share today! @Keelan562, created a prototype Hive device featured in the E3 demo! The offensive variant, the "Wasp Hive," launches small drones to cause devastating effects to targets within an area.
There is a Double HVT Reward Event beginning tomorrow, 08:00 AM UTC until Monday, 08:00 AM UTC! Players will receive double rewards when completing High Value Targets during this period.

We are here with another Agent Highlights! We got plenty of community created content to share with you this month, as the community is as active as it gets! So let us not take much time here, and head straight into it.
You probably know how it works by now: all featured Agents will receive an in-game gift of 1000 Phoenix Credits.
It has been a while since we have heard some The Division fan made music. Sonic Clang has created this heavy metal cover of the Dark Zone theme. We leave you with it while you enjoy this month's Agent Highlights! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpQzIVCrwjc Nicely put together Sonic Clang, the drums, the guitars, the harmonies towards the end. It just captures the emotions of the Dark Zone experience.
In the midst of the excitement and preparations for The Division 2. Keelan562 teased us last month with some sketches of his upcoming cosplay. And for the second month in a row, he does it again with this incredible Hive model.
Impressive work Keelan, we can't wait to see what's coming next!
One of our veteran Agents has gone deep in his pursuit of the #MissingAgents, to the point where it is believed he was missing during the month of July. Agent Max has left these notes behind to his fellow Agents, Mab, JTF Morgan, and CptKharg:
Worry not Agents, Max is back and he is safe and sound!
Let's start with some fresh cosplay by Lowmex. We love how you posed for these shots Agent, you gave us the opportunity to appreciate all the details. Amazing!
Next we have the two Agents, Max Bidnychencko and Wolnir. It seems more and more of our community members are teaming up and cosplaying in duos, and that is definitely something we would like to see more of.
These two Agents are on a mission, when they spot something unusual in one of the supply rooms that changes the whole course of their mission.
We won't spoil the full story for you, but you can check out more of their amazing cosplay here.
We have a Dark Zone ready cosplay by Thunderwolf, for the Agents who enjoy taking the risks.
We sure hope you managed to secure that contaminated loot Agent!
We kick off the Fan Art section with something different this time around! We all know how the energy bars work in The Division, and so, we leave you with the comic below by IncXbone.
Next we got D Mack, who has provided us with this lively piece of the LMB.
Great work D Mack!
Next, Xiaojun returns with another art piece focused on the LMB, Hunters and of course our dear SHD Agents, in the Survival mode.
Last one is an epic illustration of the relationship that can evolve between us and our Agents in The Division. We are always faced with the two sides of being an Agent, having that conflict within, going rogue, but at what cost? I live and breathe The Division by the talented Janeyo.
We always keep the Team Favourite section for special and unique creations, and our community never fails to deliver such creations month after month.
This month is no different than any other. We present "Story of the Agent" by Nickolas Phoenix. The story takes places a long time before the epidemic began. However, the events have quickly changed everything, for everyone.
With Directive 51 activated, our SHD agents are the only hope.
We won't give out the full story here, we want you to enjoy it as much as we did. You can find the full story here.
This is it for this month Agents. If you would like to be featured in next month's Agent Highlights article, don't forget to tweet your creations with the hashtag #AgentHighlights.

This week, Hamish joins Community Developer Yannick Banchereau to announce the launch of the next Shield, a free Underground DLC Week, and an upcoming client patch.
The long awaited Shield is now live across all platforms! "Sacred" requires players to complete 10 phases, get to level 10 and kill 10 Hunters in the Underground. Please note that this Shield is not retroactive, so progress will begin anew.
Underground is also free for one week to coincide with the launch of the Sacred Shield! Starting today, July 19th to Thursday, July 26th, all players can venture into the Underground for free.
We have seen the conversation around the recent "running in place" bug, and we want to address it in a future client patch. We want to preface that resources are very limited due to the fact that we are working on The Division 2, and we will have to reroute developers from the sequel to help make the necessary changes on The Division. With that being said, we do not want to give up on the game that started it all. We also see this as an opportunity to examine the current Striker meta.
The first day of San Diego Comic Con is today, and we are conducting a panel tonight at 6 PM PDT! Creative Director Julian Gerighty, Lead Narrative Designer John Björling, and Writer Alex Irvine will sit down with Dark Horse Comics editor Ian Tucker to discuss the universe of The Division 2. The panel will not be livestreamed, but a VOD will be available.
We also have a few announcements to make in collaboration with Dark Horse!
Dark Horse Comics is publishing a Division comic book series, coming in 2019! Set between the bitter cold of the original game and sweltering summer of The Division 2, the series will explore the virus' influence outside of New York City and Washington, D.C. and how the post-pandemic world has changed the nation as we knew it.
Dark Horse Books is publishing a new Division lore book on March 19th, 2019! The world has irrevocably changed ever since Black Friday. Understanding this transformed world is imperative if the Division is to succeed in its mission. Filled with incisive lore and detailed art, this 192-page hardcover gives readers all that there is to know about the tactics, high-tech gear, and the all-important mission of the Division.
We are also introducing a new Division novel that will be available March 2019. Spring has come to the world of Tom Clancy's The Division, and with it the challenge of protecting rebirth and rebuilding civilization. Following April Kelleher, a resourceful and determined survivor, the new novel takes the reader on a journey from the hostile streets of post-pandemic New York into a devastated American Midwest. Suspenseful and action-packed, this survival story shows the length to which people will go to save what matters most to them.
Remember that Global Event Assault is coming this month, and when we have a date to announce we will share it with everyone.
As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forumsor on the community Reddit if you're looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.
We just began a new chapter with "The Shields". Everything you need to know about Update 1.8.2 is already out there, and what remains is to get you those Shields' rewards!
It has been a big month for all of us, with E3, The Division 2 reveal, and of course meeting some of you in person! The community was super active in June, a new level of community creations has been unlocked, and it was beautiful to go through.
You probably know how it works by now: all featured Agents will receive an in-game gift of 1000 Phoenix Credits.
We saw some interesting cosplays this month, you guys were able to quickly adjust and utilise the reveal of The Division 2 to show off your talents.
We are starting our cosplay section with our talented community trio, Wild Max, Agent Mab and Eidolon Fox. We have all seen what they can do on their own, but these guys have been secretly preparing their cosplays for E3. What a way to kick off our Agent Highlights for June!
We got some more shots of these Agents in action from the rooftops of L.A.
Speaking of being in action, we all can agree that the Hunters give us a thrill when facing them. However, what would you feel like if you spotted a Hunter accompanied by two tough Agents? Well, we know how to trigger that feeling!
Area_The_Fox, we are good, right? No need to come chasing us.
It would not be E3 without having the Hunter present at The Division booth. SplinterShield stole the show with this epic cosplay.
Amazing work, you absolutely nailed it!
We got another great cosplay for The Division 2 by CptKharg.
Let us take a minute here, and contemplate the details of that cosplay. We are happy to see our Agents adjusting quickly to the summery weather of D.C!
It seems that the Hunter is in high demand this month. We have another amazing Hunter cosplay that we had to share with all of you. This is the work of Moonlight1907, from StarCon 2018.
The community has been very active during the month of June, and this was not just limited to the cosplays we have seen.
Let us first welcome our newest contributor to Agent Highlights, Neoyoshi. This fan art just caught our attention straight away, it's simple yet detailed. This was inspired by Rick Valassi and his urges for the cigarette.
We are looking forward to seeing more of your amazing work Neoyoshi.
Next, we have AgtMorganCreed, who has shared with us this lovely piece.
The community seemed to be leaning more towards the fan art for The Division lately, and we love it! It is always nice to see different interpretations of The Division, through the eyes of our community. Great work Clayscence!
We are really happy to see the community is hyped as much as we are for The Division 2! The next piece is by OGSwagPanda, and it's such an interesting shot from the cinematic trailer!
Of course we have our lovely community member, and regular Agent Highlights contributor, Cheshire Cat. Who sent this message to all of The Division community: "You guys are the best"
You are the best Cheshire Cat!
The last one we have in this section is a tribute to our rising stars Agents, Area The Fox. We all here admire the work you do, and our community also shares that feeling! This art work is done by the pure talent of Starship_apollo.
We have seen many creations by The Division community, and it is such a great honour to see how things are evolving as we move forward.
We all had the chance to create our Agents, and go with them on this journey. But what about before the activation? Eidolon Fox shared this with us, "Who we were".
We think you might be on something here Fox. We would sure love to see this spreading across our community, in a similar way that we saw #EmojiAgent and #PlayingAgent.
Speaking of the challenge hashtags we saw a couple of months earlier, ArmorForCor has got a new one for you, #AgentsApparel. Go and check out this hashtag, to share your favourite Agent outfit from The Division!
It's a delight to see many of you already preparing content for The Division 2. Next one is by Keelan562.
This reveals the amount of work that goes into preparing a cosplay. We like what we see Agent. Looking forward to seeing the final product!
The contaminated drinks are back! We have been keeping an eye out for those Dark Zone booster drinks, and we have the latest version from Batenburg. You can also have it with the Welcome to Washington D.C. can.
Choosing the team favourite was never as difficult, but worry not, because we have something special for you this month.
What makes us choose our favourite is a combination of elements usually. But sometimes, it is just the emotions that comes with it. And this is why we choose this one as our favourite for this month.
Goose has shared this heart-warming tweet combined with one of his iconic hashtags, #TheDivisionFavItem. The new challenge is simple, you just need to show your favourite thing about The Division, and say a small thing about it.
We will be checking that hashtag to see what different things our community favours about The Division.
Agents, keep those fantastic creations coming! If you would like to be featured in next month's Agent Highlights article, don't forget to tweet your creations with the hashtag #AgentHighlights.
ATTENTION: Agents, please follow @TheDivisionGame on Twitter so we can get in touch with you for the rewards.
