We just began a new chapter with "The Shields". Everything you need to know about Update 1.8.2 is already out there, and what remains is to get you those Shields' rewards!
It has been a big month for all of us, with E3, The Division 2 reveal, and of course meeting some of you in person! The community was super active in June, a new level of community creations has been unlocked, and it was beautiful to go through.
You probably know how it works by now: all featured Agents will receive an in-game gift of 1000 Phoenix Credits.
We saw some interesting cosplays this month, you guys were able to quickly adjust and utilise the reveal of The Division 2 to show off your talents.
We are starting our cosplay section with our talented community trio, Wild Max, Agent Mab and Eidolon Fox. We have all seen what they can do on their own, but these guys have been secretly preparing their cosplays for E3. What a way to kick off our Agent Highlights for June!
We got some more shots of these Agents in action from the rooftops of L.A.
Speaking of being in action, we all can agree that the Hunters give us a thrill when facing them. However, what would you feel like if you spotted a Hunter accompanied by two tough Agents? Well, we know how to trigger that feeling!
Area_The_Fox, we are good, right? No need to come chasing us.
It would not be E3 without having the Hunter present at The Division booth. SplinterShield stole the show with this epic cosplay.
Amazing work, you absolutely nailed it!
We got another great cosplay for The Division 2 by CptKharg.
Let us take a minute here, and contemplate the details of that cosplay. We are happy to see our Agents adjusting quickly to the summery weather of D.C!
It seems that the Hunter is in high demand this month. We have another amazing Hunter cosplay that we had to share with all of you. This is the work of Moonlight1907, from StarCon 2018.
The community has been very active during the month of June, and this was not just limited to the cosplays we have seen.
Let us first welcome our newest contributor to Agent Highlights, Neoyoshi. This fan art just caught our attention straight away, it's simple yet detailed. This was inspired by Rick Valassi and his urges for the cigarette.
We are looking forward to seeing more of your amazing work Neoyoshi.
Next, we have AgtMorganCreed, who has shared with us this lovely piece.
The community seemed to be leaning more towards the fan art for The Division lately, and we love it! It is always nice to see different interpretations of The Division, through the eyes of our community. Great work Clayscence!
We are really happy to see the community is hyped as much as we are for The Division 2! The next piece is by OGSwagPanda, and it's such an interesting shot from the cinematic trailer!
Of course we have our lovely community member, and regular Agent Highlights contributor, Cheshire Cat. Who sent this message to all of The Division community: "You guys are the best"
You are the best Cheshire Cat!
The last one we have in this section is a tribute to our rising stars Agents, Area The Fox. We all here admire the work you do, and our community also shares that feeling! This art work is done by the pure talent of Starship_apollo.
We have seen many creations by The Division community, and it is such a great honour to see how things are evolving as we move forward.
We all had the chance to create our Agents, and go with them on this journey. But what about before the activation? Eidolon Fox shared this with us, "Who we were".
We think you might be on something here Fox. We would sure love to see this spreading across our community, in a similar way that we saw #EmojiAgent and #PlayingAgent.
Speaking of the challenge hashtags we saw a couple of months earlier, ArmorForCor has got a new one for you, #AgentsApparel. Go and check out this hashtag, to share your favourite Agent outfit from The Division!
It's a delight to see many of you already preparing content for The Division 2. Next one is by Keelan562.
This reveals the amount of work that goes into preparing a cosplay. We like what we see Agent. Looking forward to seeing the final product!
The contaminated drinks are back! We have been keeping an eye out for those Dark Zone booster drinks, and we have the latest version from Batenburg. You can also have it with the Welcome to Washington D.C. can.
Choosing the team favourite was never as difficult, but worry not, because we have something special for you this month.
What makes us choose our favourite is a combination of elements usually. But sometimes, it is just the emotions that comes with it. And this is why we choose this one as our favourite for this month.
Goose has shared this heart-warming tweet combined with one of his iconic hashtags, #TheDivisionFavItem. The new challenge is simple, you just need to show your favourite thing about The Division, and say a small thing about it.
We will be checking that hashtag to see what different things our community favours about The Division.
Agents, keep those fantastic creations coming! If you would like to be featured in next month's Agent Highlights article, don't forget to tweet your creations with the hashtag #AgentHighlights.
ATTENTION: Agents, please follow @TheDivisionGame on Twitter so we can get in touch with you for the rewards.
The Mark IV Encrypted Cache has arrived! Found at the Premium Vendor in the Terminal, these loot containers include exclusive vanity items that are purely cosmetic. Here is a preview of some of the new appearance items in Mark IV!
With Sentry's Call and Nomad's Path vanity Collections, Agents can continue to match their equipped gear sets with appearance items! We expect other exciting combinations with the new Commando and Recon Patrol Collections as well! Finishing each of these Collections also unlocks an additional item as a piece of an overall bonus 6th Collection—Silver Bunker.
Opening Encrypted Caches requires Cypher Keys, which can be earned through a few different means. The first is simply by playing The Division. Killing bosses, completing Commendations, and completing Search and Destroy missions all reward Cypher Key Fragments. Ten Fragments are required for one Cypher Key, and one Cypher Key opens one Encrypted Cache. The alternative is through Premium Credits, which can be purchased at the Premium Vendor. We are happy to introduce the newest feature to The Division with Update 1.8.2 - Shields! Found in the first tab of the Dossier, Shields are a group of unique commendations that reward both long term and new players for completing very specific challenges across The Division. The following four Shields will be the first available for you to earn with the launch of Update 1.8.2. Going forward, an additional Shield will become available every month for you to unlock.
Shepherd - Unlock the Base of Operations
Avenger - Eliminate 10 Named bosses in Manhattan, 10 in the Dark Zone, and 10 in West Side Piers
With every Shield unlocked, you will receive the following rewards:
One Audio Log
One Patch with the relevant Shield Icon
One Shield Cache
One Exotic Weapon
Two Classified Gear Set pieces
2,000 Phoenix Credits
500 D-Tech
Three Cypher Keys
The Shields and the Patches are account wide, but the reward caches will be unlocked on the character completing the Shield itself.
The rewards do not stop in The Division, as unlocking Shields grants rewards in The Division 2! As Agents collect Shields, you will be placed in a tiered system. The more Shields earned in The Division, the higher the tier you reach, the more rewards you will receive in The Division 2. A higher tier grants players more rewards:
Tier 1 - Weapon Skin
Tier 2 - Outfit and Patch
Tier 3 - Emote and Gear Dye
Tier 4 - Taunting Emote and Backpack Trophy
Shields will help you prepare for the next chapter in The Division and challenge yourself in new ways. Collect the Shields, listen to new Audio Logs, and sport new cosmetics in The Division 2!
Welcome to The Division 2's endgame! We are building the post-level 30 adventure with an "endgame first" philosophy in mind, introducing a range of innovative activities on Day One. The fun does not stop once you reach level cap. In fact, things are just getting started.
The first leg in your end-game progression journey begins by choosing a Specialization after completing the main campaign. Specializations are a brand new character progression system that places both loadout customization and raw power in your hands as the player. After choosing a Specialization, you will gain access to a plethora of skills, mods, and talents that enhances how you play The Division 2. The most iconic feature associated with Specializations is Signature Weapons—powerful firearms that will definitely leave a mark on those standing in your way. The three Specializations available at launch are:
The Sharpshooter - unlocks a powerful .50 caliber sniper rifle and a set of tool mods and skills tree allowing to change the tide of a firefight even from afar.
The Demolitionist - unlocks a destructive grenade launcher along tools and skills focusing on disrupting enemy plans and entrenched positions.
The Survivalist - unlocks a precision custom crossbow firing exploding bolts and tools and skills that leave little chance for enemies to recover after being hit.
Once you've chosen a Specialization, you are not locked in – you can always choose another if you want to try it out, and progress all of them individually on the same character.
With a wide range of activities available at endgame, including the challenging 8 man raids, you will need to practice your skills. Choosing a Specialization gives you the tools necessary to adapt your role to any forward-facing challenge. Equip the loadout that suits the situation best, leverage the competition, and prepare your assault!
Update 1.8.2 is now live across PC, Xbox One, and PS4! Update your client and join us in two new legendary missions—Madison Field Hospital and General Assembly. Agents now have the opportunity to earn new Commendations, Audio Logs, and Patches through the new Shields system. Do not miss the new Reactivation Caches available for three weeks that welcome Agents back to The Division!
Catch up on a full list of features and bug fixes in Update 1.8.2 in the Patch Notes.
The Division 2 is an opportunity to share new stories, narrate new events, and develop bigger and better adventures. A new chapter within the overall narrative of The Division will begin, and we want players to experience everything a sequel has to offer. In order to build on the successes of The Division, players will begin anew. All players in The Division 2 will take their first steps in D.C. as new, fresh Agents!
While your character is new in The Division 2, they are not new to the Strategic Homeland Division. You are already an established Agent within the organization, harnessing the same skillset and abilities as those activated before you. You fight for the continuity of government during cases of catastrophic emergency, and this distress call is unlike any that has come before.
You are headed to Washington, D.C., a city on the brink of collapse. Trained and empowered by presidential order, you are called to prevent the fall of society and the nation tearing itself apart. Your mission: unite the civilians by working hand in hand with D.C.'s survivors before it becomes the center of a new Civil War. Agents will pursue an active role in the rebuilding of D.C., helping residents and eliminating those who threaten the stability of the entire country. Foster relationships, make friendships, and intimidate enemies to enact change. You are the last line of defense, so make it count!
As Agents make advances against enemy factions, players will see their power grow over time to level 30. It is here that the endgame begins.
New Feature: Shields Shields are a group of twelve unique collectibles that reward both long term and new players for completing challenges throughout the game. Earning a Shield will reward the player with a Shield Cache that contains a selection of valuable items and currency bundles. In addition, earning multiple Shields unlocks exclusive rewards for use in Tom Clancy's The Division®2. The Shields feature can be found in the first tab of the Dossier.
