We are happy to announce that Update 1.8.2 is launching across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 next week, June 14th! Players can expect two new Legendary mission modes for Madison Field Hospital and General Assembly alongside the newest system to The Division—Shields. More information on the Shields system will be revealed soon!
We are also introducing Reactivation Caches that will be granted to all players with the launch of 1.8.2. Designed with new players in mind, these caches welcome Agents back to The Division by preparing players for end-game activities. Available at the Rewards Claim Vendor for three weeks starting with the launch of 1.8.2, players will earn the following rewards:
Full non-Classified (4-piece) sets of Striker, D3-FNC and FireCrest at 256 gear score
Six pieces of High End Gear
Five weapon attachments and mods
Five weapons (one pistol, one SMG, one AR, one shotgun, and one MMR)
Three Cypher Keys, 2000 Phoenix Credits and 500 D-Tech
Lastly, Classified Gear balancing and bug fixes are going live with 1.8.2. Here is a short recap of the upcoming changes. The 1.8.2 Patch Notes will be available for a full list of changes.
Classified Gear
Predator’s Mark—Set Bonus (6 pieces)
Hitting 10 shots without switching targets now applies The Predator’s Mark which makes the target bleed for 50% of the damage already done by those bullets. The Damage over time to the target is increased by 15% for every 3000 Stamina and can critically hit the target. When at 9000 Stamina the damage over time bonus is increased by an additional 120%. The Predator's Mark ignores the Status Effect Immunity of NPCs.
Path of the Nomad—Set Bonus (6 pieces)
50% chance to have no cool-down for Path of the Nomad when playing solo. Take 60% less damage for 10 seconds after Path of the Nomad is triggered.
Tactician’s Authority—Set Bonus (6 pieces)
Improved Tactician’s Authority stacks will no longer reset when using elevators. Stacks will now correctly be lost upon activation of Recovery Link.
Reclaimer—Set Bonus (6 pieces)
Reclaimer support stations will now self-destruct when the set is unequipped.
Gameplay
Opera House Landmark will now spawn NPCs correctly.
Support Stations with the highest health per tick will now take priority when in range of several stations.
Fixed an issue that would cause items to temporarily disappear from the inventory after having shared an item.
Dark Zone Contamination Event effect should no longer remain active once the event has ended.
Reduction to the auto-snap on aim via a cooldown after the first use.
Fixed an issue which would cause item mods to be unequipped when changing loadouts under certain conditions.
Head over to the Official Forums to engage in the conversations and leave us some feedback. We will see everyone on the streets of New York!
E3 is less than two weeks away, and what a time it is to be part of this lovely community! You guys kicked off 2018 Agent Highlights with incredible creations, and that kept going as we progressed into this year.
We had a busy period with the latest Global Events, Blackout and Onslaught, but that didn’t stop you from taking the time to share your talents with us and with the community. And of course, we hope you managed to get the weapons and gear sets you were looking for.
As always we have received so many fantastic creations, from both veteran and newly activated Agents. There so much variety and creativity here, you guys keep raising the bar month after month. So why don’t we get right into this month’s Agent highlights!
You probably know how it works by now: all featured Agents will receive an in-game gift of 1000 Phoenix Credits.
Cosplays for The Division have been there from the very beginning and they have evolved to a whole new level of perfection!
We would like to welcome one of our newest members, Agent CMDR_Patrin, who announced his activation with this incredible cosplay.
“A new Agent has joined your team”. Welcome aboard Agent.
Next we have got the talented Agent Mab, who plans her every mission carefully before heading out to the field. We admire your dedication Agent.
We got a close up shot to Mab’s notes, if you want to know in details how she’s planning out her mission to gather Intel for her fellow Agents.
Good luck Agent, we’ll keep an eye out for you from our side.
It wouldn’t be right not to have Area_The_Fox featured in our cosplay section. We all know how talented these Agents are. We have tried to find the one that we like the most, but it wasn’t an easy task for us. However, we leave you with the one below.
We can confirm that a few people in The Division team have saved this as the wallpaper on their computers. Brilliant photo, the colours bring so much life to it. We love it!
You can always check more of their awesome work on their Twitter account here.
We received some nice shots from our Agents at Kiev Comic Con. Agent Eugen Goutnick provided us with some coverage of their mission. Good job Agents, we thank you, our guys thank you, and the people of New York thank you!
We talked a lot about how you have raised the bar when it comes to your creativity and love for The Division. Accordingly, we have something special to share with you. We spotted these unbelievable shots by KSK_Johan. Is that actually Warren Gate?
Last but not least, we got the rising super star Agents Goose and Kenga. At this point we actually think you two just came straight out of the game itself!
Lock and Load Agents!
Moving on to your artistic creations from the month of May, we start with this high quality interpretation of a confrontation between The Division Agents and the LMB. This piece of art is the work of Xiaojun He.
We really love your personal take and choices here, and the attention to detail is mind blowing. Nice work Agent!
We couldn’t get enough of the work of Xiaojun He, and thus, we leave you with two more great pieces. We hope you like them as much as we do.
The next piece highlights the two sides of being an Agent. Our regular contributor to Agent Highlights, Cheshire Cat, shared this one with us.
“Two sides, one origin”
That is very true Cheshire Cat, two sides, one origin, but that choice is what defines us as The Division Agents.
Up next is a cross community piece. Created by Klexomat, this art work features Agent Mab in The Division.
It seems that you are loving the Hunters more and more these days Agents. We have another Hunter fan art for you this month. It might not be as cute as our baby Hunter from last month’s Agent Highlights, but it is definitely worth being featured here. We would like to see more Agent Helary Mael!
We have got many submissions from our multitalented Agents. We will do our best to try and feature most of them.
Well said Agent, but you should know that we love you unconditionally!
The Dark Zone is a chaotic and dangerous place. We all can agree to that. Spotting another Agent instantly triggers your survival instincts and you put your defences up. Monitoring every move they make, trying to stay out of their line of sight. But what if they are friendly? Yes, that is also a possibility, as we can see below.
Mr.Carrana took the time to share this moving moment straight from the Dark Zone.
We talked a lot about cosplays, but the next one is a very cool collage by 2ndlawphoto. Showing a wrap up of London MCM 2017, in preparation for the upcoming one this year. This is just something we wanted to add, as moments like these bring back memories to all of us. We all can related to similar experiences in The Division.
We thought we already made the tough decisions, but it seems we are at it again. However, we have decided to pick two team favourites for this month, as we clearly couldn’t agree on one!
This first one is by Area_The_Fox. You Agents managed to capture many aspects of the game in this incredible piece of work, we just keep watching it over and over again. And thank you for dedicating this clip for the Jubilee State of the Game!
Secondly we have Agent Max. Agent Max has been a steady contributor to the community, and we very much like his methods of bringing new creations into the world of The Division. His latest being the sequel to his Scenes of the Collapse video. Agents, we leave you with this one.
And there we have it: May’s Agent Highlights. Don’t forget to tweet your creations with the hashtag #AgentHighlights for a chance to be featured in next month’s article.
ATTENTION: Agents, please follow @TheDivisionGame on Twitter so we can get in touch with you for the rewards.

Moving on to our community segment, we want to wish @projekct_amk a Happy 50th Birthday!
We have one community video to share with everyone today from @Area_The_Fox, featuring a group of Agents in Division cosplay. The attention to detail is phenomenal!
As previously announced, Update 1.8.2 is scheduled for June and will release with Shields. More details are on the way!
State of the Game will be taking a break for a few weeks to upgrade the livestreaming room with new equipment. Everyone can expect Episode 100 on June 7th! While the team is working on the improvements, we will have fewer gameplay streams from Massive. Do not worry, as Community Managers @AmperCamper and @JohanLnh will still be streaming during the week!
As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forumsor on the community Reddit if you’re looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.
Another month and another Agent Highlights, we are here again Agents. As per usual, we will be featuring some of your most amazing creations during the month of April.
The momentum from March is still strong within you Agents, which means you haven’t made it easier for us. You shared so many awesome pieces, from cosplays to fan art to The Division themed electronic music! And we are always thrilled to see more and more hashtag challenges created by you.
You probably know how it works by now: all featured agents will receive an in-game gift of 1000 Phoenix Credits.
So let’s get right to it!
Starting with your cosplays for this month, which is continuously taking us by surprise, we have a new challenge presented by your Agent Goose. This seems to be the evolution of the #PlayingAgent challenge, which was featured in our last month’s Agent Highlights.
The new challenge, #EmojiAgent, has a simple rule: take a picture of yourself and your Agent, both performing the same emoji pose, and you don’t even need to have an Agent costume. You can imagine the creativity of the submissions under that challenge!
We have featured some of the iconic #EmojiAgent challenge on our State of the Game streams, but we do recommend you check out more of them here.
We got this next cosplay from Cranky Pitfall. The attention to detail in both the cosplay and the environment, perfectly captures the atmosphere of The Division Agent on a mission. We are getting the vibes just by looking at it!
Next up is Agent Alina, who shared these amazing shots.
For your first attempt at cosplay, we are super impressed! We are looking forward to seeing more from you, Agent!
Of course we are not done just yet without the talented Area The Fox! We are always captivated when we see our Agents just hanging out after a long, hard day in the field.
Try increasing the stamina level Agent! We need you out there ASAP!
On the other hand, Agent Mab has found herself in an odd situation with Faye Lau… We won’t give out spoilers, but we agree that sometimes an Agent needs to have fun too. But not while being activated, Agent Mab!
We had to think about the next one, in terms of where should we feature it, and we think it fits here perfectly. This one is a Cosplay-Art combo by Eidolonfox.
We really like the idea of taking your cosplays to the next level, and integrating in-game elements in the picture. Nice work Agent!
Moving on to our next segment, Fan Art, we start with this bone chilling LMB strike team. Helary Mael shared this scary yet lovely piece with us. Oh boy those red eyes are truly meant for sniping!
We sure don’t want those LMB locking down on us!
We know most of you Agents find the Hunters to be the most challenging enemy to fight, as they are very unpredictable when it comes to combat. However, how can you be afraid of something this cute!
This was the work of Cheshire Cat, we do think it’s perfect as our baby Hunter!
Lastly, for our Fan Art, we have this lovely canvas by Batenburg, done for Area The Fox. We simply love it! It instantly caught our eyes with the choice of colours and the level of detail.
We would like to kick-off this segment with a very useful video by Agent ThreeFiveSe7en. We all know how complicated it can be when it comes to inventory management. Worry no more, as ThreeFiveSe7en has some tips for you when it comes to manging your inventory. The series have three parts, first one is “Stop Hoarding Trash Gear”, the second one is “Stop Hoarding Trash Weapons”, and the third is, you guessed it, “Stop Hoarding Trash Gear Mods”.
We did mention this under Cosplays, but we want to thank Goose for these awesome community challenges!
This new challenge had us all in, it was not only limited to you Agents, as our own Agents also took part in this! Well done Goose for creating this, we are looking forward to see the next challenge!
Our next entry is by The Chin. We all know how important planning is, especailly when you are planning something that is significant in your life. Well plan no more Agents, because when the time comes, we’ll be counting on you to restore order!
"It’s time.”
But don’t worry, for the time being, you can chill to the beats of Agent Max, who has been showering us with The Division inspired music. His latest piece of work entitled “You Belong Here”is Max’s final The Division music track before heading towards E3. We leave you with it Agents.
Agent Max, we are looking forward to hearing more of your work!
Team Favourite, what a tricky one this is, but we have to choose one for this month. Looking through all the submissions we had over the month of April, many had caught our attention for the Team Favourite spot. Nevertheless, we finally reached a decision.
Area The Fox. had a vision of the year 2090, so Agents, wonder no more of what a typical grandmother would look like in that year!
And there we are: April’s Agent Highlights. The community just keeps amazing us more and more. Just when we think this is it, you bring on the next wave, which always makes us happy. We are very curious about the next month, so don’t forget to tweet your creation with the hashtag #AgentHighlights for a chance to be featured in our next month’s Agent Highlights.
ATTENTION: Agents, please follow @TheDivisionGame on Twitter so we can get in touch with you for the rewards.
During the last State of the Game, Community Developer Petter Mårtensson was joined by Senior Design Lead Paul Turland and Designer James Norris from Ubisoft Leamington to discuss the recent update and the upcoming Global Event Blackout as well as showcasing more excellent entries to the #EmojiAgent challenge.
This week, Petter and Yannick provided an update on the connectivity issues players have been experiencing In the last couple of days, announced the extension of the ongoing Global Event and showcased a couple of recent community creations.
If you missed the stream, you can check it out here.
In the last couple of days, players have been experiencing connectivity issues resulting in delta errors. Improvements were made on Tuesday evening and the issue should be fully resolved as of today. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.
As these issues occurred during the Global Event, we decided to extend Blackout by a full week. It was scheduled to end on April 30th, but will now run up until the 7th of May.
As a quick reminder, during Blackout you are able to get your hands on the Classified versions of the DeadEYE, D3-FNC, Striker’s Battlegear & Tactician’s Authority gear sets as well obtain these new vanity masks for your agent.
Blackout - Always active. Agents are equipped with Shock Ammo that stuns enemies. Shooting or running builds your Charge meter. The more Charge, the more damage you inflict.
Extreme Blackout - Blackout behavior, plus you can instantly kill enemies with Overcharged melee attacks, but if you miss you will stun yourself and your allies.
Total Blackout - Extreme Blackout behavior, plus your Charge meter will cool down faster when close to other group members.
We also wanted to share a couple of great community creations this week, starting with this cosplay video from @CrankyPitfall where Division Agent alikakeks is clearing an abandoned warehouse with her trusty G36. We thought that the log-in sequence in particular was a nice touch. You can find it on YouTube.
Elite Task Force member @THEaquemeni created this unique take on the #EmojiAgent challenge. #MadLOVE to you, agent!
Created something you would like to share with us? You can submit your creations on the Community Content forums or by using the #AgentHighlights hashtag on Twitter.

Make sure to check out the VoD as Designers Paul Turland & James Norris for a developer's perspective on the philosophy that went into the creation of Blackout.
We have shown a lot of great entries to the #EmojiAgent challenge in the past few weeks and they just keep coming! @Baundiesel shared his take on the Sneeze emote with us. Bless you, Baun! @cfgamble really nailed absolutely everything in this picture, even the background matches up. Excellent work, agent! @bicycleofdeath has his eyes on you. You better not go rogue, agent! We also had a couple of Massive employees submit their entries. First we have Uplay programmer @olafurw saying hello to the community. @Dinusty, an Environment Artist at Massive went all in with his entry. Out of all emotes that could have been done, he went with the backflip! That’s some serious dedication, agent! Finally, we have this awesome still of @miniKenga111 from her stage performance with @goosecosplay1. The cosplay is really spot on, even down to the smallest details. If you haven’t seen their stage performance, make sure to check it out on YouTube.
Stay tuned to future State of the Game streams for information on upcoming Global Events as well as additional information on Update 1.8.2 as we move closer to its planned June release.

If you are still after some items in the previous Caches, do not worry! They will still be available at the Premium Vendor. Here is a total list of items in the Mark II Encrypted Cache:
The Mark III Cache was released with Update 1.8.1 on April 12, 2018. A big thanks to everyone for supporting The Division! Be sure to share your Agents sporting their new Agent apparel on the Official Forums,Reddit, and Twitter!
Whether you are a newer player to The Division or thinking about coming back for more, now is a great time to jump back into the world of Manhattan. This tutorial serves as a guideline for the many activities available for newly enlisted Agents as well as returning veterans.
New Agents
After leaving the chopper, players see Manhattan’s run-down state first-hand. Supplies are running low, enemy factions have overtaken the city, and hope is spread thin. As an honorary Division Agent, it is now your responsibility to push the enemy factions back as the last beacon of hope the city has.
Your first task is to re-establish the home Base of Operations (BOO) after speaking with your primary contact—Faye Lau. Questing in The Division offers players the opportunity to explore the city of Manhattan completely solo or through 4-player co-op. Jump into a solo session and navigate the streets to provide aid to civilians and assist JTF convoys in the field. Recover audio logs and Missing Agent transmissions that tell the story of First-Wave Division Agents. Travel between safe houses to secure vantage points across the city and upgrade your arsenal of weapons, gear, and modifications.
If you are looking for more firepower, invite some of your friends to tackle Campaign missions! Agents will face off against hostile figureheads like Colonel Bliss, Larae Barrett, and Rioter Hutch to shatter faction morale and stabilize choke-points throughout Manhattan. Along the way, Agents will forge friendships with key figures like Captain Benitez, Dr. Jessica Kandel, Paul Rhodes, and the notorious Sgt. Ramos. These familiar faces will act as every Agent’s support network, so be sure to heed their advice!
These are just some of the many opportunities available when stepping foot in The Division for the first time!
Returning Agents
Welcome back, Agent! If you are coming back to the game or just hit level 30, we want to answer the most common question for The Division’s end-game—“How do I get gear?” Remember that you, the player, always have the option of choosing your end-game activities. Players will always be rewarded for playing their way.
As a starting guideline, we recommend progressing through the World Tiers until reaching World Tier 5. This means completing missions, eliminating High Value Targets, and defeating Dark Zone bosses to increase overall Gear Score. WT5 is unlocked at GS 256+, and Agents will be fighting the most challenging enemies for the greatest rewards in this bracket.
Assignments are a series of challenges unlocked at level 30 that are accessible on the map. The following can be completed once a week, per character for a total of three Exotic Caches. Please note that players need access to the DLC in order to complete the Underground/Survival Weekly Assignments.
Weekly Assignment
Underground Assignment
Survival Assignment
In addition, one Exotic Cache is granted per character for the successful completion of each of the following missions, per week:
Legendary Time Square Power Relay
Legendary WarrenGate Power Plant
Legendary Napalm Production Site
Falcon Lost Incursion (Heroic)
Clear Sky Incursion (Heroic)
Dragon’s Nest Incursion (Heroic)
Stolen Signal Incursion (Heroic)
One of the newest exotic SMGs–The House—was reviewed by community member Lt. BuzzLitebeer. Check out what he had to say! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh9ap_gKxsg As players grow their Exotic collection, a number of gear-sets will drop along the way. These 4-piece gear-sets bring tailored bonuses to the table that cater to various playstyles for Division Agents. D3-FNC, for example, gives players bonuses for using the Ballistic shield on the front line while Reclaimer designates players as the dedicated healer with an enhanced Support Station. Path of the Nomad is the solo player’s dream with increased survivability while Striker’s Battlegear fits a DPS role with increased stacks of damage. Even more gear-sets are available to fit the way any Agent wants to play.
YouTuber KackisHD provides some gear-set tips for new and returning players! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2yIIujC5IY Finding Classified gear-sets plays a huge role in the end-game. Each standard gear-set has a Classified version, with an additional two-pieces that bring a full set to 6-pieces total. A 6-piece Classified set brings its standard equivalent to the next level by magnifying its power and effectiveness. Keep in mind the following activities have a chance to drop a Classified gear-piece in addition to Exotic weapons/gear:
Open World bosses
Dark Zone bosses
Underground Hunters
Phoenix Credit Cache at the Terminal
