The Rainbow Six Siege Invitational took place over the weekend, teasing loads of new content and changes coming up in the next two years. Year 5 will see six new operators make their way to the game, as well as reworks to four old maps, while Year 6 is bringing reworks across the board for maps and gameplay alike. We’re not completely in the dark with what these changes are going to consist of though, because during the Invitational stream they gave us a first look at new and improved Tachanka.

Rainbow Six Siege is all about mind games. Baiting out attackers, creating false lines of attack, making sure the bad guys step into your crosshairs before you wander into theirs. Operation Void Edge’s two new Operators hit the public test server tomorrow, and approach deceptive play with two radically different visions. One of them will trick you into seeing ghosts, and the other will have you doubting the structural integrity of every last wall.

It’s a romantic tale as old as time. He’s on the run, smashing through walls with his beefcake physique. She’s in space and might be a ghost. Can I make it any more obvious? Rainbow Six Siege is preparing to take off with its first Season of the new year. Making its teaser debut today, Operation Void’s Edge is taking Ubisoft’s shooter high into orbit, before smashing it into tiny stone pieces.

Ubisoft are taking the owners of a website offering DDoS (Dedicated Denial of Service) attacks against Rainbow Six: Siege to court.. The lawsuit, filed in California last week, accused the owners of SNG.ONE and affiliated sites of offering server-killing services at a premium. Ubisoft are seeking to have the sites concerned shut down for good, and for the owners to pay up for damages and court fees.

Today is the day for this Shifting Tides update to Mr. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege that I keep hearing so much about. There’s a returning map, two new operators, and the addition of limb penetration. Here are the highlights from the new update so you can start thinking about new strats before you encounter these new operators in the wild.

Once stalwart agents of counterterrorism, two of Rainbow Six Siege‘s elite operators have decided to ditch their day jobs for a week on the other side. From today through Monday the 25th, Hibana and Vigil are joining up with the crew of Netflix’s Money Heist for some crimson crime capers in Siege’s first crossover outside of loaning characters to other Ubisoft games. There’s no need to go nicking pennies to get in on the event, either. From Thursday through Monday the 25th, Rainbow Six Siege will be free to pick up and play, with a hefty discount for killers who want to keep it for good.

If Rainbow Six Siege‘s next Season leaked last week, then Ubisoft tipped the whole bucket right over last night. Shifting Tides was officially announced during the Pro League Finals in Tokyo, bringing two Operators into the special forces deathmatch. Hit the Siege test server later today to try next season’s new gunslingers, devastating new rifle, physics-breaking toys and a reworked Theme Park.

Is it on the nose to call this a leak? Earlier today, Ubisoft posted a brief clip of Rainbow Six Siege‘s next season, Shifting Tides. Despite gentle, rolling waves that’d keep resident sea-dweller Alice O satisfied, I don’t think Ubi are ditching high-stress firefights for a rollicking seaside adventure. We’ve seen a brief glimpse of Shifting Tide’s new gadgets, and these toys ain’t messing around.
