Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad with Rising Storm - [TW]Yoshiro
We have found out that not all of the realism vs relaxed realism settings are properly being enabled on servers.
Many of the Hud changes and loadout changes are not working as intended when the server is set to realistic. Also we've found that when you filter by realism servers it shows you relaxed realisms servers (and vice versa).
We'll hopefully have this fixed up shortly!
As a heads up I will shortly be requesting information from players who are having performance issues. We need to track down the performance theif or theives!

Remember, server owners need to update their servers. If you try and connect to a server that has not been updated you will get a message saying "the server has downloadable content you do not".
Remember to opt into the Steam beta if you are having trouble finding servers in the browser.

- Fixed the server browser being slow/laggy - Fixed some crashing issues with the server browser - Fixed certain maps crashing in countdown game mode when 64 players would respawn at the same time - Fixed some icons getting stuck on the screen (FT1, FT2, etc) - Fixed choosing (defaults) in the key config menu removing keys - Fixed some debugging tools so us devs can figure out what is causing crashes easier
Server owners should check for additional information here:
We are continuing to looking for the source of the performance issues that some testers are reporting. We will be making a post shortly detailing information we would like to have to try and debug what is going on.
However please read the earlier posts on security software and drivers. We have had several users issues fixed by following the instructions in that thread.

We are still working hard to put out a patch tonight that should address the server browser crash along with a few other issues we've seen and had reported to us.
But for more on that, read the previous announcement. As of a few hours ago, Steam should now auto run the UE3redist file that the game needs. If you still find the game not launching you may need to download the latest version of the DirectX auto installer:
We are currently hunting the culprit(s) of poor performance that some are reporting. We have a few early leads that we are following up on with our partners in the industry, but there are a few steps you can take a few things you should know!
1) Do you run security software, such as an anti virus and/or firewall?
If so, it may be effecting your in game performance (and cause lag in a server environment)! What you need to do is tell your security software to ignore RO 2, especially if you are running an active security scanner. To find instructions for this, please consult the manual/website (or google) of the security software you use. You may see large performance benefits out of this.
2) Do you have the latest drivers for your video card (or other hardware devices)?
If not, please install them. RO 2 is optimized and tested on the latest drivers. If you have not done a clean graphics driver install in awhile, I would strongly suggest it (un-install the old drivers completely, run a driver sweeping program, and reinstall the latest).
Now the following is NOT recommended, but we have seen several people ask about it. The unreal engine tries to smooth out your frame rate for a more consistent experience. You can change those settings. In ROEngine.ini you can change up the following settings: MinSmoothedFrameRate=22 MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62
Also important is your in game settings menu. In RO 2, you will find many settings have an ultra option. They really mean ULTRA. For example the difference between shadows on high and ultra may be as much as 20 FPS (it does real time shadows on nearly everything!). So while you play around in the settings, remember your computer may not handle ultra, or even high.
To those who still have strong computers but notice strange frame rate behavior we will be looking for information from you.
