- This reward will probably be available for purchase in the Aberoth store later, but it may be a few weeks to let members with 1000 days have a chance to play with it first.
- Sholop now requires 6 pelts to craft a small sack, large sack, or backpack (up from 3 pelts).
- The werewolf pelt drop rate has been increased so that the average number of werewolf kills required to get enough pelts for a backpack is about the same as before.
- Sholop no longer crafts the 3 slot alchemist bag (to prevent players from accidentally crafting it).
The brand new 2019 Arcane Realm of Creation is now live. If you ever wanted to try Aberoth where everyone is low level, now is your chance.
The realm is only open to new players with memberships. You enter by striking the painting in the inn, and must not have any gold, items, or skills.
It is also possible to leave the realm during the year if you decide it is not for you. However, once a player leaves, they may never return.
The Arcane Realm of Creation does not allow players to play more than one character at the same time.
On December 23, 2019, all players remaining will receive a reward (the top 25 most skillful get a special reward). Then all players will be moved to the normal realms, and the Arcane Realm of Creation will be reset for the next year.
- The Arcane Realm of Creation for 2018 has ended. All players who were in that realm have been moved to the Common Realm of Creation. The top 25 most skillful players have been given a reward quest. The other five high score boards for the realm have also been archived, and will be made available for viewing early next year.
- The Arcane Realm of Creation is now reset and open for 2019. New characters may enter the realm by striking the painting in the inn. No one may enter if they have any skills, gold, items, vault, or are in a guild. Players may enter the realm now, but may not leave the castle until January 1, 2019.
- At the end of 2019 (Dec 23, 11:59PM), the top 25 most skillful players will receive a reward, all players will be moved out, and the realm will reset again. If there are signifigcantly more players in 2019 than 2018, the number of rewards may be greater than 25. The reward will probably be the same one that was given in 2018, so if you did not get it in 2018, you will have another chance to try for it in 2019.
Visit Aberoth for the yearly special event happening now until Dec 25, 11:59PM US Pacific time.
Members should make sure to check their quests sometime during the event to receive a special item! (The special item is only given once per character, and is not available if the character already got it in a previous year)
- Once a skill has reached level 40, or you have attained Grand Master proficiency in a spell, progress toward the next level will display with accuracy of one hundredth of one percent.
- It is now possible to exit the vertical hallway in the castle, even if it is filled with players and animals. To exit, get as close as you can to the exit and keep pressing the direction of the exit, and you should be able to make it out in a few seconds.
- When gambling at Darklow's, players may now repeat their last bet by saying 'bet'. Players may now only place one bet at a time.
- When the arcane realm of creation ends, the top 25 most skillful players will receive a new item.
- In case of high score ties for most skillful, the game now uses total experience as a tiebreaker. Prior to this fix, there was no tiebreaker.
- The arcane realm of creation will now end on December 29, 2018 at 12:59 PM PST. A brand new arcane realm of creation will open on December 30 (right after the reset) to allow new players to enter. However, players may not leave the castle until Jan 1, 2019.
- Potent acid cloud no longer causes wanted time if used in a duel.
- The ancient spellbook now holds 9 scrolls, up from 8.
- While blind, a player can no longer see someone who is protected by an amulet of preservation, or darkened by chaos.
- For private guilds, the guild motto is no longer visible on the high score board.
- Updated the terms of service to give a better indication about the severity of the various terms of service.
- A player's life skill now determines the number of other players a member may commend or condemn (up to a maximum of 25). For example, a member with a life skill of 10 may commend 10 players and condemn 10 players. This change is intended to reduce gaming of the reputation system using low level alts.
- When ignoring another player, you will now still see their conditions (confusion, blindness, etc). If someone is harassing you, calling you names, or offending you, please remember you can always take control of the situation and "ignore" that player.
- Champions level 10 and over must now indicate that they understand the Aberoth terms of service. The terms of service have not changed, and are the same as those on the web login page. Since Steam players do not log in through that page, they may be unaware that there is a rule against account trading. I recently had a few reports of Steam players being scammed by others selling accounts, so I wanted to make sure everyone who plays the game is aware of the rules (which prohibit account selling, sharing, or trading), so they do not get scammed.
- Any player may review the terms of service any time in game by saying 'tos'.
