ARK: Survival Evolved - complexminded

We're wrapping up another excellent ExtraLife event with the ARK community. On November 5th, we went live on Twitch from our Seattle Office for 24 hours to support ExtraLife, a program of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. With your help, we were able to raise over $130K in support of kids' health! We were able to shatter our individual and team donation goals, setting up this year's event to be another unforgettable one! Throughout the Game Day event, we maintained the #2 team in total donations and in the top 5 for individual donations!

The ARK community has helped us raise well over 500K for children in need with the completion of our 8th ExtraLife event! These achievements wouldn't be possible without the support of the ARK community and sponsors! We are grateful for our generous, supportive players, partners & sponsors, & the opportunity to help facilitate this endeavor. Get your first look at the Charcarodontosaurus, the latest creature added to ARK with a brand new Creature Spotlight trailer! Carcharodontosaurus makes a triumphant entry to ARK with a noteworthy set of abilities that puts it in competition with ARK's most feared carnivores!

We are introducing new story cutscenes to conclude each ARK map, featuring actors Maddy Madden (The Wheel of Time) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) reprising their respective roles as Helena Walker and Sir Edmund Rockwell Here's a little teaser of what's to come!

Dino discovery is a fact-filled ARK adventure that allows children to explore the Island without violence and learn about the fascinating prehistoric creatures that inspired the game. ARK: Dinosaur Discovery will launch on November 9 as an exclusive on Switch and is free to download with the purchase of ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition.

Re-evolved from the ground up with redesigned mechanics! The Survival of the Fittest Crossplay Prototype launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in December 2022 on later arrives on Switch in 2023.

We’re back with another ARK tale from the past. In today’s story, we relive the tale of our first bout with the Island Dragon Boss.

It’s a rainy day on the ARK as our tribe is gathered around the obelisk. There’s a nip in the air and an ominous feeling surrounds the tribe as we line our Rex army up on the obelisk. Tribe Admin A says the situation looks bleak and isn’t hopeful for a successful outcome. Tribe morale isn’t very high so the tribe leader gives us a war speech before placing the remaining artifacts needed to start the fight in the terminal. As the bubble starts to surround our creatures the feeling of hope begins to flood over the tribe as we are all confident after our leaders wonderful speech, but little did we know, things weren’t going to be so easy. As we enter the arena and see the beast flying overhead, we mount our rexes and our tribe leader takes her position on the yuty. The creature flies around for a short while before finally landing and engaging with our creatures. We tear into the Dragon with tooth and claw as our Rexes are full of energy thanks to the Yuty. Little did we know at the time being the ignorant people we are that the dragon had a fire breath attack that dealt percentage based HP. As it flees to the skies once more, we realize our Rexes are already below half health, while the dragon itself is only about 20% down on HP. As we are planning for this unthought circumstance, disaster strikes. Swarms of Dimorphs and Pteras rain from the sky, claiming the lives of 2 of our tribe members in the process. We manage to defend from them as the Dragon lands down upon us and unleashes it’s Fire breath once more. Our rexes begin to fall one by one as we continue to try and salvage our futile attempt at beating this beast. He claims the lives of all but one Rex with which I am mounted on, and the yuty our tribe leader is controlling. Stunned, we resort to working together to try and handle the next swarm of minions the guardian has summoned on us. As we take them down he lands once more, striking a critical final blow in our forces as he wiped the remainder of us off the ARK.. alas, we were utterly defeated, with our creatures gone and little hope that we could be the beast, things didn’t look very hopeful. But we will have our revenge. The tribes will is stronger than anything the ARK can throw at us.

Are you looking for a fresh ARK experience? You might want to check out the new series of "Limited Download" servers that just launched. Similar to how new maps are released with transfer restrictions, LDL servers will have this configuration set indefinitely. LDL servers are available to join on all platforms today!

so when i was playing with a friend on fjordur (after it came out like 2 weeks ago) we were looking for andrewsarcus and after awhile we found one. we tamed 3 of them (one for my other friend) and we got back to base and un cryod them. we forgot to put food in there inventory and guess what happed? you already know xd

(This was when i was more new to my server)
My friend and i were getting lots of small tames that day. After we tamed a trike we were like,"" I wonder if trikes can break wood?"" So we tested it out on a nearby wood shack. The trike charged right through the wood shack. We had joy for a good minute. Little did we know that there was someone in there and they were a bob of a pretty good tribe.

A little bit later after we tried to run away in the nearby forest, someone used a managarmer to execute the trike.

it was a learning experience.

Our annual Halloween event, Fear Evolved, creeps onto the ARK with a ghoulish screech and we have laid out all of the tricks and/or treats for Survivors to indulge in over the coming weeks!

From October 19th to November 2nd, ARK will be teeming with spook-tackular new chibis making their ARK debut, cutting edge fashion, and eerie event creatures all resplendent in moonlit pumpkin patches and Hallow's Eve festivities!

Cloak yourself in event-themed fashion and creepy shoulder companions to embark on a hunt for the elusive DodoRex and DodoWyvern.

This event can be manually activated with the server arg parameter: -ActiveEvent=FearEvolved

This Story is from 2017. My friends and I (Group of 5) all decided to download ARK and play through the game for the very first time. We decided on hardcore settings, no tames and 1.5x Creature Damage. We decide to go into Island South Cave. We have assault rifles, chitin armor and 2 people with shields and swords. We manage to make it down to the artifact, but decide to head into the cave further as we wanted the chance at getting some blueprints out of drops. (Little did we know this would spell the end for 3 of our 5 members. We also had hardcore mode enabled, so we would lose everything if we were to die.) We decide to cross the little lake in the cave with the plan of jumping in and swimming to shore. We all jump in and 4 of us make it to the other side of the lake and onto shore before we turn to see one of our tribemates say “help me” as he’s bounced back into the water by a group of piranhas, thus we obtained our first causality of the play through. As we grieve over the loss of our tribemate, we agree we must press onward to not let his sacrifice have been in vain, and that’s when disaster struck once more. A pack of scorpions on 1.5x Damage snuck out from inside the wall of the cave and knocked out one of the vanguard in a single hit, then proceeded to take his life in the process. The tribe was powerless as our only means of shielding was gone, but we managed to fight them off with our guns and a little bit of luck. Thus being down two members of the expedition team, our tribe leader suggests that we turn around and leave. Myself and the other remaining member decide that the only way to honor the fallen is to continue onward, and thus we do just that. I take the lead, as I have the most HP, and equip the shield of my fallen comrade. With shield and sword in hand, I fail to account for the biggest danger of all, Megalania. Failing to look upwards, I’m jumped on without any warning. My tribemates unload their guns into the creature in a desperate attempt to salvage what little bit we can, but unfortunately, the damage had been done. Mega rabies had infected my character, and it was taking my life away at a rapid rate. In a panic, I run towards the safety of my tribemates, failing to realize I harmed the very people I was supposed to protect. The leader and other member now had the disease as well, and as we all rushed past the megalania and for the entrance in a hopes of escape, we lost our tribe leader. Myself and one other left that day, and we never went into a cave on that play through again.

I just remembered this story as one of the friends involved in this passed away last month and it was a happy memory to have found again. RIP

So uhhh... I had never beaten a boss before and the people of the cluster I play on were going for tek cave but needed alpha dragon. So i opted in to do it and... I still to this day havent beaten a boss. The alpha dragon at the very end of the fight decided to aggro onto me, snipe me with a fire ball and killed me.
So yeah, my story of still not beating a boss

My good friend mhix likes to breed his Dino’s and let me get the babies or eggs from them. He did this with his otters several times. Each and every time I get a batch of his babies they die!!! Today I waited 7hours and 30minutes for them to give birth… I was prepared with tons of fish meat cooked and raw, was so excited too. The 7 hour timer I set went off, I quickly finished my meat run and got distracted. In that time of getting distracted I moved my young kittens to a safer spot in my room. Went to the living room to show my mom one of the kittens, we sat there for about 30 minutes when I realized I needed to get the otters. I freaked out and ran to my room quickly grabbed pods and ran to my friends base. I got there lagging and saw the babies heads. I started imprinting them all and led them away from the adults so I could pod them. They all died at the same time! There goes 7 hours of excitement
