We’re pleased to announce that we’re going to be partnering with Epic Games to bring the full power of the Unreal Engine 4’s tools and development resources to the ARK: Survival Evolved modding community, with our very own and one of the first custom mod editors.

If you’ve purchased a copy of the game you can begin modding immediately, just check out the following tutorial on how to mod to get started! We’ve got our very own Workshop here on steam, as well as our own Unreal Engine ARK Modding forum!. So if you’re interested in playing some of the mods & maps already posted, giving modding a try yourself, or learning some more about how it works, you’ll definitely want to check these out!

With this latest announcement, we are also going to be updating our tools in Patch 185 to include the following, which will be available later tonight;

• Fully updated to include the latest code & content, as well as our improved built-in-Editor Steam Workshop Uploader!
  
• ARK Game Data Override: Allows you to create your own survival adventure game with total capability to override the core “gamedata” of ARK in your mod, what this means is that EVERYTHING can be changed, from Engrams to Items to Character States to Dossiers!
  
• Capability to override the mini map and spawn regions
  
• Mods can also now force the player to spawn-in rather than display the respawn map

Today we are pleased to announce that the open-world adventure game ARK Survival Evolved is now available for Mac and Linux on Steam Early Access, among the first large-scale Unreal Engine 4 game released for these two platforms!

The Mac and Linux versions share all of the features and content of the PC game and includes seamless online cross-play, with players able to play together no matter which platform they choose.

ARK survivors can dive into the dynamic ecosystem where they craft weapons and tools, build multi-story houses, commune with other tribes, as well as tame, train and ride a huge variety of dinosaurs from the terrifying T-Rex to the monstrous Spinosaurus and the soaring Pteranodons.

In celebration of the new launch and to welcome our new players, ARK is on sale at the discounted price of $24.89 on all platforms!
