Make note that this is old screenshot of the prototype. But it's seems more interesting. The problem of voxel mining it looks not very good. Just a flying quads. Of course we will do something with this. But it will require some time. So probably in the early access asteroids will looks similar to the screenshot.
Otherwise. Voxel asteroids should be more fun to mine and what the most important, it actual can be extracted tile by tile. Or even cutting to the several pieces.
But current asteroids looks more realistic, and... Actually this is their only advantage. So what do you think?

Hi! Long time no news, and I'll make it right. That's what we can to show you today.
One another reason to build a space station, we have added a new module, a grabber. The grabber is able to cling to any objects, so you can organize a mining station right on the asteroid.
First of all it is convenient for logistics and storage of ore, and if you provide it with enough amount of power, you can start a production right on the space station.
Production station near asteroids with ice is an important refueling point. Ice can be melted into water which can be split into oxygen and hydrogen which are the fuel for a rocket engines.
Now construction of the parts requires resources, they are no longer free. Extraction and storage of resources will be one of your tasks.
Due to the fact that all objects inside a container increases its mass, logistics and management of the center of mass becomes a serious challenge for the player. We will try to provide convenient tools for inventory management, but even with them, you will have to think about how to build your transport ship properly.
When scanning a asteroids you can see a content of the its sectors. We are not very satisfied about asteroid interface, so we will enhance it later.
And note the scale. The whole station it's just a little object in the orbit.
Rotating around the planet...

So far there is only one star system. But it's procedural generated and later we will implement interstellar traveling with warp drive or gates.
We was just astonished that occupied the 38th place! And now we astonished even more that we are have been Greenlit so quick! Thanks to everyone who helped us and told others about us!

Resource storage system have been implemented. It's a little unusual. How it works? There is no one inventory for all type of items. Instead, there is a specific type of container for a specific things. Power storages, ore containers, tanks for liquids and gases.
And as in real life, one ore container can contain only one type of ore. Well, of course, in real life you can fill it with any type of an ore. But after that will be pretty hard to divide the ore. So in the game we decide to make containers only for one type.
When you press a button, you will see icon above each container and you can move content by drag and drop.
So generally, it's pretty the same as classic inventory from RPG, but each container have own mass and volume. So amount of cells in your "inventory" depends on amount of containers on the ship. Max size of an "ore stack" depends on the max volume of the specific container! Besides, if some container will be destroyed, you will loose specific "inventory cell" with their content.
Also, will be important where exactly do you place containers, because content in them affect on the center of mass of the ship.
Our next goal is improvement of craft and mining system.
