Since the release of Frostpunk earlier this year, numerous people were asking about the soundtrack. The harsh, unforgiving sounds of the frozen wasteland created by Piotr Musiał are an intrinsic part of the game experience and today, we can finally present you a dev diary where we dwell into the details behind the production of the music score.
You can watch the video here:
https://youtu.be/-0xP1TUJzKc If you’ve seen the video, then you already know, that we’ll be releasing a vinyl edition of the soundtrack. It will feature 10 tracks known from the game, remastered for the purpose of this edition, pressed on top-notch quality 180gr vinyl. It will be released on 26th of October, with the limited number of 500 copies.
It can be bought from gamemusic records store HERE for 30 EUR + costs of the shipment (shipped worldwide).
Of course, we are aware that it’s 2018, so VERY soon you will be able to find the soundtrack in digital version on various sites, including Spotify, YouTube, Tidal, Deezer, iTunes… and more!
For the time being, you can listen to the whole soundtrack on YouTube as well: https://youtu.be/uLF6VFME2jc And if you are really into HiFi quality, then you can buy a special edition, which includes a variety of digital formats (320 kbps .MP3, .WAV, .FLAC) as a Steam DLC.
We hope you're going to enjoy listening to the soundtrack outside the game as well! Feel free to send us some comment!

- - - FAQ - - -
1. It's a brand new scenario! Is it really free? Why? Yes, it is totally free. Because we love you.
2. Wait a second. This scenario was called "Builders" before! What's up with that?! That's very observant of you! But the situation is pretty simple - "Builders" was more of a code name, we didn't want to spoil too much by revealing the title too soon.
3. What about the future updates? When are they going to arrive? Next big update is the long awaited and highly requested Endurance Mode! It's going to be available for this year. For free, of course.
4. Are you guys still working on This War of Mine - Stories DLCs? It's not exactly a Frostpunk-related question but yes - we are still totally working on TWOM DLCs. A separate team is responsible for that - so you don't have to worry that Frostpunk updates are somehow interfering with TWOM updates. We're going to announce new stuff as soon as we're ready. But you are smart and you already know how we work, right? ;)
Frostpunk brand new expansion, “The Fall of Winterhome”, updates for FREE on September 19th!
--- About the Scenario ---
The Fall of Winterhome, a story-driven, free expansion for Frostpunk will update automatically in existing copies of the game on September 19th. With hours of brand-new content and fresh take on Frostpunk’s mechanics, players will get a chance to lord over a new map with refreshed visuals and discover lore about the frozen world they have dominion over, as well as uncover secrets from the past - the story of the fallen town of Winterhome which you may have found in the main campaign of the game.
A few days ago we released Update 1.1.2 which - among other things - introduced a number of improvements to the game and allowed you to name characters and automatons, and polished some visual aspects of the game. Unfortunately, it turned out that it also contained a bug that made saving and loading difficult, or - at times - impossible. Thanks to your help we have been able to identify the problem, find the cause and eradicate it, so a big thanks to every single one of you who was kind enough to provide us with the files we have requested. Long story short, here are the details of today's hotfix, which weights around 6MB.
List of changes:
Save system is now working properly and all new saves are going to be written and loaded just as swiftly as before;
Saves that have been affected by the last update will work, but they may take some time loading and overwriting - it's a minor inconvenience that cannot be overcome, our sincerest apologies;
Minor improvements to stability and performance.
That’s all we have for you today. Once again, we would like apologize for this bug and any inconvenience it may have caused. The game will be back on it's feet as soon as you download the patch. In the meantime, please remember that we're still working on the features and new content we have announced some time ago. If you wish to stay up to date, be sure to follow our social media channels:
Frostpunk was released in April but development and improvement on the title hasn't slowed down! Today, we are very happy to announce that the brand new DLC 'People and Automatons' is now available to all owners of Frostpunk - for free!
While working on this update, we at 11 bit studios have spent hours on top of hours browsing through forums and comment sections on Frostpunk. Based on suggestions from our community, most of the features and changes implemented directly address those concerns — and because of that we'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who are contributing there on daily basis. Without further delay, let’s take a look at the new content: https://youtu.be/ZroC7y24yHs
- - - GENERAL NOTES - - -
Naming Characters and Automatons — You can now change the names of your people and automatons. This feature not only allows you to dive deeper into the in-game world, but will also help you while managing your city because from now on, you’ll be able to search for individuals (both men and machines) using given names. And we can also imagine that some streamers and youtubers might be happy about this one - naming citizens after their subscribers? Sounds like a perfect idea!
New Visuals — We dedicated many hours working on new visuals for certain elements of the game, including: Hunter Airships, Hunters’ Huts, Gathering Posts, Outposts and Workshops. From now on your city will look better than ever before and what’s more, it will be easier to find certain facilities among all the other buildings.
Intel NUC Skull Canyon and Razer Chroma Support — it’s rather self explanatory, really! If you own the aforementioned devices you can now use their full potential in our games. We think you’re gonna like it!
Fixes, optimization and ALL THAT STUFF — As always, we crushed a number of bugs that were bothering our players and optimized here and there, improving the overall experience for the game. For the full list of changes, be sure to check the changelog below.
