Console
We need to get the console version updated with fixes from to beta version so we expect this update to be available for console early next week. Of course, everything is taking a little extra time right now, so it may take longer than we think, but we'll post if we find out there has been a significant change in timing.
Final Note
On to the next thing! Now is a good time to mention that we are currently in the middle of evaluating our schedule. We're definitely beginning to see issues creep in from our current situation working from home. We're looking to shift things around a bit so we can still have something for you every month. The next update coming will likely be smaller as we work on the larger stuff like the next new character and the next Return of Them update. When we have more information on that, we'll let you know.
Today we have our next character refresh! We don't have any new skins available, but we do have a new short and some new streaming drops. Enjoy!
Don't Starve Together: A 1st For Everything
A perfectly real, imaginative little featurette of our lovable silent WES!
We know that Wes is largely considered the most overpowered of all the survivors, but with this refresh we've challenged ourselves to bring out even more of his potential. Now, our most beloved character is finally getting the attention he deserves, and has been polished to perfection. We hope that players enjoy just how much these radical changes affect his gameplay!
Here are some of the details:
Fixed several typos in Weses strings
Resolved conflicts in Wes's internal dialogue
Increased height and width of invisible walls by 9%
Decreased max weight of Wes's bicycle
Further decreased experience required to unlock
Replaced sense of existential dread with acceptance of the inevitable
Increased durability of pile o' balloons
Increased size of balloon while at 0 sanity
Adjusted sense of reality to include that which inherently cannot be understood
Applied fresh coat of facepaint
Increased length of pantomimed rope by 25%
Skin Sale!
No new skin sets are available for this refresh. However, for this week only Wes skins are 50% off.
New Streaming Drops!
We are adding the Salt Box Shaker to the Crystalline collection. For more information on streaming drops and how to get them, check out our support topic here.
More info coming soon!
Hope you enjoyed this fun little diversion today. We don't usually do "surprises" like this, but we came up with the idea a couple weeks back and it just sounded like a fun thing to do while we try to keep ourselves sane. The team produced that short from start to finish in just under 2 weeks!
Don't worry - this didn't slow down our content plan, we will have more info about the next update very soon.
Abigail is now returned, instead of dying, when attacked by Wendy.
Improved the Pipsook’s pathfinding in the caves.
Toadstool’s spore cloud will no longer rapidly spoil items inside a closed Fridge. This was already the case for Chests and was intended to be the same for Fridges.
A big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the Wendy Character Refresh. I'm glad to be working on a game where our fans passionately dissect everything we do and give their feedback.
We have decided to move away from Wendy's health value modifying Abigail's damage. We had intended for it to represent Abigail becoming enraged as her sister was approaching death, however it resulted in the sisters not working together as a team.
As of this hotfix, Abigail's damage is back to being based on the day/dusk/night phases and she has received a boost to her day and dusk damage. Abigail's attack now besets her opponents with ghostly petals for a short period of time. Opponent's beset by Abigail's ghostly petals will receive extra damage by all other attackers (eg other players, Pigmen, etc.) Wendy, being Abigail's twin sister, is able to take advantage of this and will deal substantially more damage. We have also renamed the Choleric Tonic to Nightshade Nostrum and changed it to allow Abigail to deal damage during the daytime and dusk as though it was nighttime.
I'll also take this opportunity to clear up the mechanics behind Abigail's shield. When Abigail takes damage, she will put up a shield to block all incoming attacks for a short period of time, similar to how the Thulecite Crown works. Applying the Unyielding Draught will double the duration of the shield, while Distilled Vengeance will double the duration and deal damage to anything that hits the shield. We hope everyone enjoys these changes. A full list of details can be found below.
Changes:
Changed Abigail's damage back to be based on time of day instead of Wendy’s health.
Increased Abigail’s damage during daytime and dusk.
Abigail's attack besets her opponents with ghostly petals for a short period of time, increasing its damage received from all other damage sources. Wendy is able to take advantage of this and will deal substantially more damage.
Spectral Cure-All now lasts for 30 seconds and the other Ectoherbology elixirs now have a duration of 1 day.
Replaced the Choleric Tonic with Nightshade Nostrum.
Nightshade Nostrum allows Abigail to call upon the power of darkness, causing her to deal nighttime damage during the daytime and dusk.
Abigail’s shields received a minor increase in duration.
Retuned the number of Mourning Glory required to craft the Ectoherbology elixirs.
Reduced how far away the Pipspook’s lost trinkets will spawn.
Changed Abigail’s riled-up targeting to encompass more creatures
.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed the scaling of Distilled Vengeance’s damage fx
Fixed various Wilson skins hair orientation in the back view.
Fixed missing fur tufts on Wortox.
Fixed an issue with Wendy’s Nostalgic skin’s hair when doing the kiss emote.
Today we have our next character refresh! As usual we also have some new skins and some new streaming drops. But we also have a little bit of studio news and a small teaser for the next content update. Enjoy!
Wish you were here
Wendy clutches tightly to the memory of her twin sister, Abigail. Some days, it’s almost as if she never left…
Even from the afterlife, Abigail never stopped looking out for Wendy - and now Wendy has discovered how to return the favor. Her affinity with the supernatural has led her to the mysterious practice of Ectoherbology, allowing her to create haunting elixirs to aid her sister beyond the veil and make their bond stronger than ever before.
Here are some of the details:
Wendy carries a flower that can summon her sister Abigail's spirit.
Abigail's spirit gets stronger over time but starts over if she is destroyed.
Abigail's might is tied to Wendy's health, making her fight harder while Wendy is weak.
Wendy can ask Abigail to stay close to her or roam more free via Abigail's flower.
Wendy does not lose sanity due to ghosts.
Pipspooks can now be found roaming around gravestones.
Wendy can commune with Pipspooks to help them find peace in exchange for Mourning Glory.
Wendy can use Mourning Glory in her Ectoherbology crafting tab to help her sister's spirit in various ways.
Wendy has reduced damage in combat, but suffers less sanity drain from auras and the dark.

Studio Note:
Just a quick note regarding the team at Klei Entertainment. As noted previously, everybody at Klei Entertainment is working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Many of us have been working especially hard to help maintain operations as we all move out of the office and into our homes and with everything being done online extra time must be spent in organizing conversations and trying to maintain communication. As some of you may know, we have a very open office and we are almost always in contact with each other as we go about our days. Some of us work across multiple teams and that work has become a bit more challenging for everybody.
That being said, at this time the transition has not caused any major disruption in our operations, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that we won't have any delays at all. We're going to have to be especially mindful about this in the coming weeks and make sure we don't take on too much work so we can keep things running smoothly.
Likely, you won't see any real difference in what we deliver until after the next big update as we are already well underway with that and will be wrapping up the bulk of that work soon. But hopefully you won't see much change at all. We'll do our best and we'll let you know if/when we start seeing anything changing.
And Finally!
If everything goes according to plan we expect the next update to be toward the end of April with the next Return of Them Content update, "She Sells Seashells". Here's a bit of a teaser of what's to come. We'll have more info shortly before release! We also have a small surprise for you next month as well and we'll let you know about that when it's ready.
That's it for now, we hope you all enjoy the new update and stay safe out there.

Abigail's damage is affected by the number of enemies she is fighting, allowing her to be effective against a single enemy but at her best when fighting a crowd.
We will also have a new animated short and we will bring a new item to the Crystaline collection streaming drops as well. See you next week!
