New season will start in July on the Caribbean Server Key points that we wanted to share as soon as possible (before the main announcement)
There will only be PARTIAL XP reset. There will be a safe xp level that will be kept for all captains. We are considering a 3rd rate to be this level but will post on this decision later this week.
This week we will start a pre-wipe event with XP bonuses so people who want to start next season in a lineship will have a chance to get to that safe xp level
Two loot events will run from daily maintenance on June 9th until daily maintenance on June 12th:
St. Kitts Event
St. Kitts 5 modules are available in the Admiralty, they can be exchanged for Broad Pennants that occasionally drop from 5th rates and higher
Broad pennant will drop from military NPC ships
Diana Event
Captains have to find rare ships like Diana, Santa Cecilia and Admiraal de Ruyter in the search areas provided below. These ships may carry a very rare ship notes and special loot coins, rare wood and rare guns:
Gold Ducat
Gold Rouble
Gold Sultani
Gold Thaler
Strange Gold Bar
Rare wood
Rare guns
Coins might be exchanged in the Academy building to receive:
Additional outpost permit
Additional dock permit
Diana permit
Admiraal de Ruyter permit
If you already have the Navy Connection using the item will add even more outposts or docks (up to a total limit).
Search locations
South Antilles - triangle of Aves, La Blanquilla and Saint George ports
Northeast of Tumbado - area between Cuba and Tumbado
South of Hispaniola
In case of capture of certain ports in the area, the nation of ships will change.

Increasing damage by mods or rare guns will increase damage on chain to masts accordingly.
We will continue tweaking HP of sections to provide more options for tactical disablement of the enemy without making it very easy and toxicly annoying.
Please provide your findings and feedback on the forum
The following gameplay fixes and improvements will be deployed tomorrow 1st June 2023
Important: Fixed a bug that reduced damage to structure when it was at a very low level (it was sending damage to non existent masts). Now ships with very small line of structure will lose it normally, and ships will sink and no longer interfere with combat.
Important: NPC ships no longer start with their guns loaded.
Sail and Mast damage
Lower sections of masts will be harder to destroy on battle sails and in general
Top sections of masts will be easier to destroy even on battle sails
Rigging shocks through sails will require significantly more precise shooting (more hits required)
Rigging shocks through sails can be inflicted even on battle sails (but harder to achieve), to provide more tactical options if your enemy only using battle sails.
Other fixes
NPC resource deliveries (iron, coal, oak) will increase.
Ship Auction will not show deep water ships in shallow water ports.
Two loot events will run from daily maintenance on May 26th until daily maintenance on May 29th:

Level XP: Amount of ship kills required to level up slightly decreased. XP Thresholds changed and mostly lowered for all levels below Vice Admiral. Your experience level will remain unchanged and you might have gained rank. For example Kills to level up from 2nd rate to 1st rate were lowered from 45 ships (2nd rates) to 33 ship (2nd rate) kills to gain a level.
Ship knowledge (book slots) XP: Amount of XP required to unlock first 4 book slots is significantly lowered. Generally 1st slot will now require 1-2 kills, 2nd slot 3-4 kills maximum. Your ship knowledge experience have not changed and you might have gained unlocked slots.
XP For lower level ships: XP granted for sinking much lower rank ships has significantly increased. Sinking a cutter in Victory was giving 0.85xp and now gives 11xp (60% of ship BR). Sinking a Corvette was giving 25xp and will now grant 60xp. This change will make all targets valid and sinking them will not feel like waste of time. This is a major improvement for XP gains - all ships are much better targets xp wise.
Overall these changes will make progression less tedious. We will continue monitoring situation and make changes accordingly.
Grape shot improvements and changes
Grape shot damage on lower level guns increased significantly.
Overall grape shot damage increased slightly for all guns
Grape shot will no longer penetrate planking at any distance or any angle if planking HP is above 36%
If planking is above 36% you will only achieve crew damage by grape if you hit crew directly: to the deck at angle or through windows or gun ports.
