Street Fighter V

One of the most famous fighting game players in the world is on the brink of seeing his career left in tatters after he was accused of disturbing domestic violence.

Legendary 33-year-old South Korean fighting game pro Lee Seon-woo, better known as Infiltration, reportedly battered and tortured his ex-wife, Kim Hyang Lee. Reports indicate Kim Hyang Lee recorded one incident and transcribed it so it could be used as evidence in an ongoing Korean court case.

This information emerged via an anonymous reddit account that was at first dismissed by some. But now Panda Global, the esports team Infiltration is a member of, has announced the Street Fighter expert will not compete in the Street Fighter 5 Capcom Pro Tour premier tournament at the Tokyo Game Show this weekend as it conducts an investigation. Infiltration was expected to star at the event, which takes place in Tokyo.

G, the Man of Mystery, and Sagat, the Solitary King, are available now in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pYVvWuV0Bc

A man of mystery has appeared calling himself the “President of the World.” First revealed in the cinematic opening at Capcom Cup 2017, G is a mysterious new character who wishes to unify the world as its president. He decides to spread his message in ways the modern world can understand: through social media. Initially, he doesn’t receive much attention until Rashid comes across his videos and decides to help amplify G’s message to the people. That being said, there’s much more to G than meets the eye…

As a new character, G has a unique move set that utilizes his role as the “President of the World” and his mysterious origins. During a fight, his Presidentiality level can be seen next to the V-Gauge in the form of an icon representing the Earth. By using G Charge, G absorbs power from the Earth to increase his Presidentiality level to 3. The higher his Presidentiality level is, the more powerful his special moves are. However, if G is knocked down, the Presidentiality level will go down.

G’s special moves and their properties during level 3 Presidentialilty are as follows:
- G Smash Over: A quick lunging punch that sends a citizen of Earth flying
o Level 3 Presidentiality: Two hits that causes a wall bounce
- G Smash Under: Quick lunging punch that hits low and causes knockdown
o Level 3 Presidentiality: Two hits that also cause knockdown
- G Burst: A downward molten projectile
o Level 3 Presidentiality: The projectile now splashes upon hitting the ground, which sends magma at an upwards angle
- G Spin Kick: G twists his body in the air and kicks the opponent at a downward angle
o Level 3 Presidentiality: Now gains projectile invincibility
- G Impact: A command grab that launches citizens of Earth and can be followed up by several special moves.
o Level 3 Presidentiality: A multi-hit command grab that also launches opponents
- Message to the People: G delivers a speech meant to unite all citizens of Earth. During this speech, G gains EX Gauge, but is left vulnerable to attacks. Presidentiality has no effect on this glorious speech.

Using G Charge by itself leaves G vulnerable to attacks from citizens of Earth. However, G can cancel certain special moves into G Charge to safely increase his Presidentiality.

V-Skill – G Barrier

G emits a force field from the energy of Earth around him that can hit nearby citizens of Earth, which sends them launching in the air and can then be followed up by certain attacks. G Barrier can also absorb projectiles. In addition, G Barrier can be used in the air!

V-Trigger I – Maximum President

In this three-block V-Trigger, G’s skin becomes gold. During the duration of Maximum President, all of G’s special moves are strengthened to their level 3 Presidentiality. G can also cancel his special moves into each other. Finally, G can now launch G Barrier as a projectile, even in the air!

V-Trigger II – Dangerous President

In this two-block V-Trigger, G’s arms become molten with anger. By pressing HP+HK again, G will use G Explosion, a special move that can be canceled into from a special move that sends citizens of Earth flying into the heavens. G can also use G Rage, a command grab that contains one hit of armor and deals a decent amount of damage.

Critical Art – Pangaea Burst

G lets the citizens of Earth feel the full force of Gaia and unleashes a destructive set of magma pillars.

Take a look at G’s Story Costume, which may resemble another man of mystery.

Sometimes, Presidents need to go hunting, which is why G has chosen this outfit as his Battle Costume.

The king has returned to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition! Bow down before him or prove you are a worthy opponent. First appearing in the original Street Fighter as the final boss, Sagat has become one of the most recognizable characters in the entire series. As the emperor of Muay Thai, Sagat’s main goal in life was to be the strongest fighter in the world, which he believed he was until a certain martial artist named Ryu came along and defeated him. M. Bison witnessed Sagat’s power and offered him the services of Shadaloo in order to search for Ryu. Sagat accepted and became one of the feared “Four Heavenly Kings,” but when he realized M. Bison was attempting to corrupt Ryu, Sagat left as he wanted Ryu’s mind to be clear for their rematch. Since then, he has made it his life goal to defeat Ryu, but only if his rival doesn’t hold back. In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Sagat has become a hermit in a secluded village and must overcome his inner demons.

Sagat’s iconic move set remains true to his past appearances in the Street Fighter series. Tiger Shot is a projectile that changes speeds depending on which punch button you press and cannot hit crouching opponents. Grand Tiger Shot (Low Tiger Shot in previous titles) can hit crouching opponents, but deals less damage and is less safe. Tiger Uppercut is a dragon punch-style attack that can be used as an anti-air or a reversal. Tiger Knee Crush (Tiger Knee in previous titles) is a quick lunge that can close the distance between Sagat and his opponent.

V-Skill – Angry Charge

Much like its previous iterations, Angry Charge sees Sagat clutching his scar to power up both the damage and stun for the next use of his Tiger Uppercut.

V-Trigger I – Tiger Charge

In this three-block V-Trigger, Sagat unlocks the ability to use Tiger Cannon by pressing HP+HK. Tiger Cannon is a large and quick projectile that deals decent damage. All of Sagat’s normal moves can be cancelled into it, which creates some devastating combos that take advantage of his long reach.

V-Trigger II – Tiger Assault

In this two-block V-Trigger, Sagat unlocked Tiger Spike by pressing HP+HK and Tiger Rush with Forward plus HP+HK. Tiger Spike is a long-reaching sharp kick that has armor on startup and can be cancelled into by most of Sagat’s normal moves. In addition, if HP+HK is held down, Tiger Spike breaks the opponents guard.

Tiger Rush is an altered version of Tiger Knee Crush that sees Sagat lunge forward with his knee. It can be cancelled into by most of Sagat’s normal moves and is useful for combos.

Critical Art – Tiger Rampage

Sagat shows exactly what it means to be the emperor of Muay Thai by delivering a series of kicks and punches followed by a charged up Tiger Uppercut.

Take a look at Sagat’s Story Costume, which reflects his time as a hermit deep in the mountains.

Sagat’s Battle Costume is inspired by traditional Thai clothing.

Sagat's Nostalgia Costume needs no explanation!

New Stage – King’s Court

A reimagining of Sagat’s classic stage from Street Fighter II, this beautiful location featuring the iconic reclining statue will be available on August 6!

G and Sagat are available individually for MSRP $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money OR as part of the Season 3 Character Pass for MSRP $29.99, which also unlocks Sakura, Blanka, Falke, and Cody. If you purchase G or Sagat as part of the Season 3 Character Pass or with real money, you will also get their Battle Costumes with colors 3-10 and default costume colors 3-10.

Street Fighter V

Two new DLC characters hit Street Fighter 5 today: G and Sagat.

G, nicknamed the Man of Mystery and self-proclaimed President of the World, is a new character who wants to unify the world as its leader. According to his official blurb, to do this he wants to use social media. That sounds like a silly idea, but, well, it's worked for some, hasn't it?

G is unique in that he can absorb power from the earth to increase his Presidentiality level up to three. The higher it is, the more powerful his special moves are. However, if he's knocked down, the Presidentiality level goes down.

Street Fighter V

On 25th June Street Fighter 5 gets a big new update - and part of that is the addition of loot boxes.

The loot boxes have to do with Survival Mode and a new system called Fighting Chance. Menat, one of the playable characters, has opened up a shop to tell you your fortune. Spend 500 Fight Money, the in-game currency, and you get a Fantasy Fortune Reading, which Menat helps you decipher. These readings are the loot box: they contain multiple items, including some exclusive to Fighting Chance.

Items include Battle Goods, which increase your chance of completing Survival Mode, new colours only available from Fantasy Fortune Readings, classic pieces of Street Fighter art from across the series, and, to the consternation of the Street Fighter community, rare costumes only available via Fantasy Fortune Readings.

Street Fighter V - Capcom USA

Cody Travers has served his time behind bars, but has now become the new mayor of Metro City. Although quite busy with his everyday duties, he will arrive in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on June 26!

https://youtu.be/4Si_PRh4e-g

Hailing from the beat-em-up series Final Fight – where Zeku’s pupil Guy was also introduced - Cody first appeared in the Street Fighter series in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Unable to adapt to the peace, Cody was repeatedly thrown into prison – or returned voluntarily – after causing havoc in the streets by fighting through any conflict he could find. He casually broke out of prison in Super Street Fighter IV to search for a cure for his boredom, but ultimately returned by his own free will. In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Mike Haggar exonerates Cody of his crimes, which leads to him being the new mayor of Metro City. Though he constantly complains, Cody secretly finds a glimmer of joy in his new position. However, this doesn’t ultimately stop him from solving problems with his bare hands, knives, or pipes…

Cody’s move set in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition resembles those from his previous appearances, but altered to fit his new spiffy style. When not in V-Trigger, Cody can no longer throw rocks as a projectile or unleash a Criminal Upper like before. Instead, Cody now has Tornado Sweep, which sees him shooting a swirling gust of wind like a traditional fireball. Cody still has Ruffian Kick and Zonk Knuckle as special moves. In addition, he now has a few target combos.

V-Skill – Double Kick

A move from Final Fight, Cody quickly jumps straight up and performs two kicks in the air to both sides. Double Kick can be used as an effective anti-air and in certain situations, it can also end a combo.

V-Trigger I – Sidearm

In this two-block V-Trigger, Cody pulls out his signature knife. Sidearm increases the range on Cody’s normal punches, which also become safer on block while he’s holding the knife. He can also throw the knife by pressing HP+HK again straight at the opponent or at an upwards angle as an anti-air. After throwing the knife, Cody can then pull out his knife again by pressing HP+HK while V-Trigger I is active.

Cody also gains the Rapid Fire special move, which sees him slashing multiple times and is a great combo ender. Even if V-Trigger I’s duration ends, if Cody is still holding the knife, he’ll continue holding on to it until he either throws it or hits the opponent.

V-Trigger II – Dirty Coach

In this two-block V-Trigger, Cody is armed with his trusty pipe. With the pipe in hand, the range on Cody’s HPs are drastically increased. He also channels his inner baseball player and gains Gentle Swing by pressing HP+HK again or Gentle Upper Swing, the anti-air version.

If you’re wondering where Cody’s rocks went, they’re implemented into this V-Trigger! During V-Trigger II, Cody can use Bean Ball, which sees him tossing a rock in front of him. Though the rock has a hitbox if tossed on its own, Cody can follow up by hitting it with Gentle Swing with varying results. Depending on the timing, the rock will either hit the opponent from the air at a slight arc, smash straight into the opponent for multiple hits, or roll towards the opponent’s feet. Furthermore, if Cody follows up with Gentle Upper Swing, the rock will go flying off screen and eventually land a set distance depending on the punch button that was used.

Though Cody does lose access to Tornado Sweep with the pipe in hand, he does gain the ability to cancel some of his special moves into Gentle Swing. Much like the knife, Cody will hold on to the pipe after V-Trigger II ends until he hits the opponent with it – even on block.

Critical Art – Criminal Punisher

Cody harnesses his past behind bars and unleashes a devastating tornado reminiscent of Criminal Upper from previous games.

Cody is available individually for MSRP $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money OR as part of the Season 3 Character Pass for MSRP $29.99, which unlocks Sakura, Blanka, Falke, Cody, G, and Sagat as they become available. If you purchase Cody as part of the Season 3 Character Pass or with real money, you will also get his Battle Costume with colors 3-10 and default costume colors 3-10.

Take a look at Cody’s Story Costume, which pays homage to the previous mayor of Metro City.

Cody might wear this dashing Battle Costume during the many events he must attend as a mayor.

Get a reminder of Cody’s jailbird past with his Nostalgia Costume that can be altered with the special code to reveal a tank top underneath and the sleeves of his prison outfit tied at his waist.

Go further back into the past for Cody’s first appearance in Final Fight with this simple costume that can also be altered with the special code to reflect the aftermath of a street fight.

Cody will be available on June 26, but will be playable at E3 2018 at Capcom’s booth (South Hall, #2223), so stop on by to play the ex-convict! We’ll be over halfway done with Season 3, so make sure to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay up to date on all things Street Fighter!
