Big Changes:
Buildings Overhaul, New Traps, More Lore, and More Performance Updates!

New Features & Patch Notes:
Buildings Have Been Overhauled! Here is a rundown of everything that is changing for them in this update:
  • There are 8 new buildings that can be crafted by the player. They are the Stone Shed, Stone Hut, Stone Bunker, Keep, Barracks, Stone Cabin, Gathering Hall, and Stone Lodge.
  • All wooden buildings are now burnable. Be careful not to get caught inside once things heat up, or you may be in for a world of hurt!
  • All damaged buildings that pre-existed on the islands and were not player built are not repairable or destroyable.
  • Due to the overhaul of our building system, some players may encounter issues with pre-update saves and new buildings overlapping older, player-built structures. This issue can be fixed by simply destroying the overlapping offenders. The good news is that you will get some extra resources for your efforts!
  • There are specific resistances for the buildings depending on what they are made out of. Wood buildings now are meant to be chopped down with axes and stone buildings demolished with hammers.
  • All of the buildings have had a design pass on their health!
  • All buildings have more refined damage states!

More Lore has been added to the game! Now providing twice as much history to the island and its inhabitants! Players can now find various personal and historical accounts that may aid in their quest for survival. These entries may also provide some insight into events that led to the islands’ downfall and change, as well as clues how past exiles may have originally ended up there.

Two New Traps have been added to the game! These traps are the Tension Coil Skewer Trap and the Spiked Spring Trap! Both offer new ways to protect buildings that you have crafted while you are off adventuring! They may hurt a bit in PvP too!

Performance Updates are now live in the default build. We will continue to make adjustments every build to improve the experience for everybody.

New items added! Here is a list of all of the new items that have been added or adjusted:
  • Tension Coil Skewer Trap – A trip wire that will unleash wooden spears in a single thrust from a tightly wound rope.
  • Spiked Spring Trap – Disease covered spikes that will penetrate the victim’s feet when stepped upon.
  • More User Feedback for Burning! We’ve added an action meter to let you know if you are actively trying to set something on fire and how long it will take until it burns.

Art:
  • New icons and art added to the Journal.
  • New art added for Lore items.
  • New art updates for multiple buildings.

Environment:
  • New art added to Freydalyn, and Jormungahr.

Bug Fixes:
  • Collected lore now displays correctly.
  • A save/load trap bug has been addressed with losing the traps or crashing.
  • Removed the Water Quality setting and set it to high by default. You now have a water on/off option.
  • Unselected monikers are now more transparent for better differentiation.
  • All health bars now fade out instead of popping.
  • A fire screaming audio bug has been addressed.
  • The moon is now opposite of the Sun’s position in the sky making it easier to track time at night.
  • Various crash fixes.

Known Issues
  • LOD issues with certain objects.
  • Enemies popping and not pathing correctly.

New Features & Patch Notes:

Lore has been added to the game! Lore will provide some insight into the history of the islands and its inhabitants as well helpful tips and clues that can be used to increase one’s chance of survival.

Traps have been added to the game! Primitive traps can now be set by Players as an alternative way to deal damage to unsuspecting creatures and hostile players. PvE servers, use them to affect hostile enemy creatures. On PvP servers, in addition to creatures, they will also affect other Players as well. Be very careful while setting traps on PvP servers and mind where they lay, as you will be able to trigger your own traps and potentially damage yourself!

Performance Updates are now live in the default build! We completed a healthy pass on optimization this build and you should definitely find some noticeable improvement to frame rate as well as a big reduction in hitching and stuttering that many had encountered while playing. For this update we worked hard to reduce our long load times, made many improvements to the Save/Load system to speed things up and reduce in-game hitching, added adjustable settings for Water Reflections in the Options Menu to help further speed things up, and made many more general performance improvements overall. Things are definitely feeling and running a lot better now!

New items added! Here is a list of all of the new items that have been added or adjusted:
  • All food items have been adjusted again to fill the players hunger meter up quicker.
  • Bandages have been updated to be aligned in balance with the potions.

Art:
  • New icons and art added to the Journal.
  • New art added for Lore items.
  • New art makeover for the Journal.

Environment:
  • New art added to Freydalyn, and Jormungahr.

Bug Fixes:
  • Replaced the way the game was handling update stats for performance improvements.
  • Sped up internal network messaging system and fixed any subtle pre-existing errors.
  • Now pre-loading more prefabs into pools (such as enemies), removing in-game hitching when loading enemies.
  • Physics updates where implemented for performance improvements.
  • Fixed trap save data issues.
  • Resource nodes now take a number of hits rather than a HP value that's reduced.
  • Rabbit trap now starts without a rabbit.
  • Reduced network save file size, improving load times.
