Liquid Nitrogen Tank - Explosions leave an icy cloud that will slow any enemy in its wake!

2 New Swappable Submarine Weapons! - Mini-Gun firing ain't your style? Fear not, for the secondary infinite Sub Weapon slot just got tactical! When found, you can swap out your Mini-Gun for one of these two new weapon types!

Spread-Shot - The Spread-Shot will spray out several bullets at a time, allowing you to deal 4 times as much damage to any enemy that comes close enough to its short range.

Long-Shot - The Long-Shot lets you fire deadly precision shots from afar, though it takes greater skill to utilize.

New Community Requested Options! - You asked for them, so here they are! Two new options that let you better customize your game experience!

"Safe" Dynamite - Tired of trolls blowing up your Submarine? In "Safe" Dynamite mode, dynamite deals zero damage to fellow players, bots, and vessels! This new option can be found in the Custom Game Options sub-menu in any Lobby!

Legacy UI - If our new Console UI isn't your style, you can now enable the classic borderless and console-less UI under Options in the Main Menu!

Boss Cam - Boss Battles just got more grandeur with our new smarter Boss cam! The Boss cam gives you a better view of your gargantuan foe, and even tracks them so your team can better focus on destroying them instead of trying to see them.

The Player of the Month for May is..... Cleanworld!

This week's content drop comes in the form of the ever-shiny, ever dazzling, ever uncomfortable Copper Suit and Copper Hat! Made from 99.9% genuine copper, this suit will tell your friends "Hey! I'm wearing copper!"

We Need To Go Deeper - Nick Lives

This week's content drop is coming to you a day late thanks to my forgetfulness, but I'm pretty happy to bring you guys WNTGD's first floor-length dress-style attire in the form of The Elegant Dress! It's about time to start bringing an extra dose of effeminate class to your future adventures! (Also I finally turned off the Easter Content since that was way overdue.)

We Need To Go Deeper - Nick Lives

This week's content drop, we bring you a brand new free hairstyle in the form of The Afro for your customization needs, along with a much-needed visual fix to sort out our game's many layering problems (fewer enemies should find themselves disappearing behind ladders for instance, and players are each seperated into their own layer groups to keep from "mushing" together when crossing paths)!

We Need To Go Deeper - Nick Lives

Hey everyone! Welcome to Content Drop! This is a new thing we're trying, where every Monday we'll drop a new small cosmetic/relic/whatever into We Need To Go Deeper to add small doses of content regularly!

So why are we doing this now? Well, as we're heading towards the goal of full release this year, our regular monthly content updates are going to steadily take up more of our time, and we're considering abandoning the mid-month "Crate Updates" so we can better keep on schedule and dedicate more time to the more substantial monthly updates.

We feel bad leaving everyone high and dry between months though, so we came up with these weekly Content Drops to help keep things lively. They aren't ever going to be substantial by design, but hopefully y'all will get a kick out of getting some small new stuff EVERY week!

So, here's this week's drop: The Ninja Outfit! - Now Available in The Catalog.

Let us know what y'all think of this new format! And to reiterate, this does NOT affect our monthly updates in any way. Y'all will still get substantial content updates every month on the 8th, and in fact they should be a lot better given the extra time this format affords us between updates! Let us know in the comments!

Bring the pain for April's content update! This month is all about improving the act of dishing it out and taking it! Dodge rolls, Charge Attacks and more! Read on for details:

Features

Dodge Rolls! - Keep yourself away from danger with the brand new Dodge Roll ability! At any time during combat, or just for fun, you can perform a quick roll by pressing the direction you want to roll towards, and hitting SPACE BAR!

Warning: May cause back problems later in life.

New Enemy - Baby Crabs! - These new tiny critters can be found just about anywhere, but not to worry - as they're almost useless! To satisfy your newfound bloodlust, we've included these new cannon-fodder enemies whose sole purpose in life is to be killed by the dozens.

Permanent Corpses! - Enemy corpses will no longer disappear! So what does this mean? Well for starters, it means you'll be able to tell where you have and haven't been in caves by the trails of bodies you leave behind, but more importantly, it means you're going to have to SWAB THE DECK if you want to keep a tidy Submersible!

What's the saying, again? Cleaniness, by smacking corpses until they explode, is close to godliness.

Charge Attacks! - It's time to bring down the hammer with CHARGE ATTACKS, now available in every Melee Item! Now, when you HOLD the attack button, you'll rear back your weapon, charging it for a stronger blow!

Feedback Frenzy! - Along with the new mechanical changes to combat, we've also included a bevvy of smaller, but still important, changes to how basic combat FEELS:

- Added a visual "Swipe" animation to all melee attacks to add some oomph.

- Enemy corpses now get pushed back in the direction they were killed for more satisfying deaths.

- Enemies now get pushed back even more when taking damage to give some extra weight to attacks.

- MORE blood particles!

Fixes

- Fixed loads of enemy ragdolls which were setup to be networked but had no networked creation or destruction.
- Disabled old fuel UI (oops).
- Fixed an animation bug causing players to get stuck in tight spaces.
- Fixed a bug where cave jellyfish could make light objects without deletion if left for extremely long durations.
- Fixed crouch animation disrupting head collider's ability to fit under small spaces.

Other

- Added a setting to disable automatic port forwarding (used in rare cases where network administration drops your internet connection when UPNP is detected).
- Changed gear sounds to be more metallic in weapons console UI.
- Radar now has a pinging sound.
- Jumping now has a kickoff sound.
- New civilization music from Jacob Lives!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Player of the Month

The Player of the Month for April is..... Bee!

Throughout March, one person has been sending us regular and incredibly detailed bug/log reporting that has helped us immensely in tracking down some sticklers, and that person is Bee! Thanks to your reports, we have a much clearer understanding of some of the behind-the-scenes troubles! On top of helping us track down bugs, Bee has also created one of our favorite pieces of fan art in the form of their Espadon plushie, for those who haven't seen it yet:

Clean out yer ears and rinse your goggles for the Sensations Update! This month is all about displays and useful info for your future voyages, including an all-new Tactics View for Periscope users, and all-new Linux OS support! Read on for the sweet deets.

Features

Tactical Periscope View!

This all-new Radar-like view can now be accessed from the Periscope at the press of a button! (Spacebar by default)

The Tactical View will allow you to see further ahead than your Navigator or Weapons Specialist, giving you the insight your crew needs to make better decisions about where to go next, where the next expedition may lie, and where danger is lurking.

Furthermore, the tactical view displays a bevy of info regarding your vessel. From hull integrity, to fuel, to ammunition and power levels.

Linux OS Support!

Penguins rejoice, for Linux and Steam OS Support is here! Spread the word to your command-console-using friends, and tell them to come join the party!

In-Game Resolution Options!

This one's long overdue, but hey - maybe we'll get partial credit for turning in late. Say goodbye to the days where holding Alt before beginning the game is necessary for changing your resolution! No longer will you have to harness the secrets of the game just to change your picture size. Hi Ma! I'm a real game now!

Lonesome Secret

Finally, a new secret hat has been added to the game. For those with a keen eye and especially for those who frequent our streams, this image is the only clue you'll need to unlock it.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed in-game UI not scaling properly on different aspect ratios. No more squishing!

- Fixed menus not scaling properly on dif. aspect ratios as well! Consistency all around!

- Moved our Discord DLLs to the plugins folder, hopefully ensuring that we see fewer missing DLL exceptions being thrown.

- Added better exception handling for the Discord integration.

- Fixed some cases of pop-in spawning on environmental hazards and enemies.

- Fixed game starting at the wrong resolution. It should be a lot better at detecting your native resolution from the start now.

- Added camera effects for exterior view to bring back some of the original assets' saturation and color.
