Yesterday evening, we announced The Elder Scrolls Online’s next big year-long adventure and Chapter live from the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas. In case you missed it, here’s everything we showcased and announced during the big event!
A New Year-Long Tale
The event’s biggest reveals, of course, were the announcement of both the Dark Heart of Skyrim year-long adventure and Greymoor Chapter, and the show kicked off on a high note with this new cinematic trailer:
ZOS’s Creative Director Rich Lambert and Bethesda Softwork's SVP of Global Marketing and Communications Pete Hines took the stage to discuss the new Chapter, showcasing the content’s new zone, storyline, and systems. You can watch the entirety of the announcement HERE on Twitch.
Post-Show Fun
With the announcement stream complete, we went into a post-show with Community Team members Jessica Folsom and Gina Bruno, who hosted community guests and ESO Dev Team members such as Dungeon Lead Mike Finnigan and Loremaster Leamon Tuttle! Watch it HERE on Twitch.
Viewing Rewards
For hitting 80,000 concurrent viewers during our Dark Heart of Skyrim global announcement stream, we're giving all ESO players the Long-Winged Bat pet. To qualify, simply log into the game and kill any enemy monster any time between now and January 22, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST.
As long as you qualify, you’ll receive your Long-Winged Bat pet by the first week of February. It’ll be added to your Collections automatically.
We weren't able to hit our 150,000 concurrent viewer target required to unlock the ESO team member's IRL “Snow Bear Plunge,” but we're going to do it anyway! Keep an eye out on our social channels for information in the near future on when we dive in, and thank you for watching the show!

The Elder Scrolls Online: Harrowstorm
The Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline begins with the Harrowstorm dungeon DLC, kicking off as soon as this February. Featuring two new dungeons, Harrowstorm has you contend with a supernatural storm in Icereach and explore the depths of Unhallowed Grave. As you discover the dark forces that threaten Skryim, the events of this DLC will lead directly into the Greymoor Chapter.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor
Supernatural harrowstorms plague Western Skyrim, and dark beasts, led by a powerful Vampire Lord, devour souls to further their mysterious plans. In The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, ESO’s newest Chapter, you must defend the besieged Nords and uncover the evil behind this monstrous resurgence.

Explore Skyrim Above and Below
In Greymoor, you can return to the snow-swept home of the Nords and explore the region of Western Skyrim. Currently in ESO, you adventure along Skyrim’s eastern zones of Eastmarch, Bleakrock, and the Rift, but in this new Chapter, you can explore the other side of the province, including the city of Solitude and the deepest depths of Blackreach, a subterranean world beneath!
Explore Solitude 1000 years before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
As you venture across this new zone, you’ll encounter the hardy Nords who call it home and discover a host of interesting side quests, delves, public dungeons, world bosses, a trial, and the new harrowstorm world events. Enough to keep any intrepid adventurer busy!
A Gothic Tale
As part of the Dark Heart of Skyrim year-long adventure, Greymoor’s main story continues the ominous narrative that begins in the Harrowstorm DLC dungeon pack. In this latest Chapter, you must investigate the evil behind the supernatural storms that have swept across the region.
While Greymoor’s main story is part of the year-long tale, you don’t need to have completed the Harrowstorm DLC to follow and enjoy the adventure. How you choose to experience Tamriel and the Dark Heart of Skyrim is up to you!
Antiquities System
The new Chapter also features the all-new antiquities system. This in-game activity allows you to uncover lost artifacts scattered across Tamriel. As an up-and-coming archaeologist, you can scry the location of ancient relics and excavate them via a series of new minigames.
Discover and unearth lost relics
The relics you can uncover include unique collectibles such as furnishings and mementos, and they are not limited to the new zone, but instead see you travel to every corner of the continent. Tamriel’s hidden history is yours to discover!

Who knows no fear of beast or blade? The Undaunted Celebration event is back! Clear dungeons to earn bonus rewards and Event Tickets. We are Undaunted!
With the recent implementation of several fixes for the Activity Finder, we are inviting everyone to try out the updated tool on the live servers. To help us reach the desired population and Activity Finder load, we are re-enabling the Undaunted Celebration event from Thursday, January 9 at 10:00AM EST through Monday, January 13 at 10:00AM EST. We believe that these latest fixes will allow for a better experience, but we will be closely monitoring performance throughout the event in case of further issues.
Thank you for your patience throughout this process and for helping us ensure that the overall Activity Finder is improved.
Undaunted, Undaunted!
Kicking off this Thursday, January 9 at 10:00AM EST, and running until Monday, January 13 at 10:00AM EST, the Undaunted Celebration event returns, bringing new rewards for Tamriel’s brave dungeon delvers.
To participate in this event, take on Tamriel’s four-player dungeons by using the Dungeon Finder tool or by traveling to a dungeon with your group. Normal or Veteran difficulty, it’s up to you!
Loot and Glory
When you defeat a dungeon’s final boss during the Undaunted Celebration, it’ll drop a special Undaunted Reward Box in addition to its usual loot. In these containers, you can discover all kinds of useful and valuable items, such as Undaunted Keys, Undaunted plunder, motif pages, repair kits, transmute crystals, riding lessons, and more.
However, that’s not all! During this event only, you also have the chance to acquire special “Opal” versions of the classic Monster Weapon, Mask, and Shoulder styles for the following bosses:
Bloodspawn
Illambris
Engine Guardian
Troll King
Here’s how you can earn these shiny new style pages:
Opal Monster Weapon Outfit Style
The firsttime you slay a dungeon’s final boss each day, you’ll earn a special Hefty Undaunted Reward box. These larger containers house the same items as their smaller cousins, but they also contain a random page of the new Opal Monster Weapon Outfit style pages. Note that Opal Monster Weapon Outfit style pages can drop from regular Undaunted Reward Boxes on very rare occasions, but the only way to get one guaranteed is from a Hefty box.
Opal Monster Masks Outfit Style
If you’re interested in the Masks, the Opal Monster Mask styles can drop from Veteran Hard Mode final bosses within Spindleclutch II (Bloodspawn), Crypt of Hearts I (Illambris), Darkshade Caverns II (Engine Guardian), and Blessed Crucible (Troll King). If you’re interested only in the regular version of the Masks, they will still drop on Veteran difficulty, too.
Opal Monster Shoulder Outfit Style
Finally, the Opal Shoulder Outfit Style pages for the above monsters will be available from Undaunted vendors during the event, too. Note that you must own the normal versions (also available from the same vendors) of the Shoulders first before you can acquire the Opal ones.
Grab Shoulder style pages from Undaunted vendors
Event Tickets and Impresario
When participating in the Undaunted Celebration, you can earn three Event Tickets the first time you slay any final boss in any dungeon each day. Here’s a list of goods available at the Impresario:

Celebrate New Life
The New Life Festival in-game event beings this Thursday, December 19 at 10:00AM EST and runs until Thursday, January 2, 2020, at 10:00AM EST. If you’d like to take part in this joyous jubilee, acquire the New Life Festival quest from the in-game Crown Store and use it to find the New Life Herald, Breda, located south of the city of Windhelm, Eastmarch. Even if you’ve already completed this intro quest during a previous event, you can do it again!
Find Breda to begin the celebration
Complete the quest “The New Life Festival” and unlock a ton of unique New Life-themed daily quests (nine total) that help spread cheer and merriment to all the people of Tamriel. The first time you complete your first New Life Festival quest, you also unlock the Breda’s Bottomless Mead Mug collectible, which provides a two-hour 100% boost to XP gains when consumed. You can use this festive flagon and enjoy the XP boost throughout the entire event period, and even better, its benefits stack with other XP bonuses.
Gift Boxes Galore
The first time you complete a New Life Festival daily quest each day, you earn two Event Tickets in addition to your Gift Box. These celebratory coffers can contain all manner of festival-themed goods, including Motif chapters, recipes, collectibles, furnishings, and more:

New Life Charity Writs–Complete 12 of these to unlock the “Newly Charitable” Achievement and Crystalfrost skin.
New Deep Winter Charity Writs–Complete to unlock pages from the new Skaal Explorer outfit style!

The first two times you complete a New Life Festival daily quest, you earn an Event Ticket in addition to your Gift Box for each. You can earn only two Event Ticket this way per day, with the timer resetting at 1:00AM EST each morning.
However, because of the postponement of the Undaunted Celebration in November, we decided to reward Event Tickets for bosses slain throughout the entirety of the New Life Festival. Each day, when you defeat your first boss you receive three Event Tickets in addition to that boss’ regular rewards.
Here’s the bosses that’ll count:
World bosses
Delve bosses
Final dungeon bosses
Final trial bosses
Final arena bosses
Dragon hunt, Dolmen, and Abyssal Geyser bosses
That means each day, you could earn up to five tickets. Don’t forget to loot!
Complete your Pure-Snow Indrik during New Life!
The Impresario has opened her warehouse during the New Life Festival, and has a ton of new and returning items you can spend your Event Tickets on, including:

As usual, Impresario items are bound to your account upon purchase.
