Celebrate the absurd during the next Jester’s Festival event and reap ridiculous rewards, including new collectibles, bonus XP, and more! Find out everything you need to know right here. There’s pie!

The Silly Season Returns
The Jester's Festival kicks off on Thursday, March 21, at 10:00AM EDT and will run until Tuesday, April 2, at 10:00AM EDT. If you’d like to take part in this frivolous event, travel to the pavilions located outside the cities of Ebonheart, Vulkhel Guard, and Daggerfall. Once you find a pavilion, talk to one of the three Jesters convincingly dressed as Jorunn the Skald-King, Queen Ayrenn, or High King Emeric to get started.

Complete the intro quest titled “The Jester's Festival" to acquire the delicacy known as the Pie of Misrule. (If you completed the quest last year, you won't need to do so again.) When you use this mouthwatering Memento during the event, you'll receive a two-hour 100% XP buff. You can continue to enjoy the pie once the event is over, but you will no longer receive the bonus.

Save Princess from a perniciously porky fate!

Throughout the event, your characters can receive a daily quest from a Jester at each of the three different locations, allowing them to complete three preposterous quests per day.

Ridiculous Rewards
When you complete a Jester’s daily quest, you’ll receive a Jester’s Festival Reward Box, containing fun consumables, recipes, valuable items, and furnishings. The first time you complete the daily quest for each Jester each day (regardless of character), you’ll receive a Jester’s Festival Stupendous Box instead!

This Jester’s Festival Stupendous Box has a chance to contain unique rewards, including:
  • Cadwell’s Kitchen Arms Style Pages
    • Arm yourself with the weapons of the rag-tag knight himself!
  • Parts of New Mementos!
    • Collect the different parts for two new Mementos: the Festive Noise Maker or Jester’s Festival Joke Popper.
  • Jokey Stealies
    • Valuable-but-silly items you can sell to vendors for gold.
  • Runeboxes
    • Tradeable runeboxes containing last year’s Mementos: the Jester’s Scintillator and Cherry Blossom Branch.
If you’ve earned all three Stupendous Reward Boxes in a day and you decide to do the quests again with a different character, you’ll receive the regular Jester’s Festival Reward Box. You can keep earning three regular Jester’s Festival Reward Boxes with your different characters throughout the day, with both the Stupendous Reward Boxes and the regular Reward Boxes resetting daily at 2:00AM EDT.

Finally, Jester Festival Reward Boxes will always contain one last reward: the Jester’s Festival Pie.

Share the Fun… with Pie!
Although the pies you receive from Reward Boxes certainly look delicious, in the right hands, they’re one of Tamriel’s most-feared projectiles!

By adding these tasty missiles to your Quickbar, they become instruments of maniacal merriment, allowing you to throw them at any of Tamriel’s inhabitants, including NPCs, guards, or even your fellow players. Spare none your sticky, delicious wrath! Warning: Some targets, such as city guards, might object to your revelry.

“Take that! And that! EAT IT!”

Of course, while covering your friends, enemies, and hapless bystanders in dessert is its own reward, we’ve also added a host of new pie-related Achievements to this year’s event:
  • The Three Fillings War – Throw 10 Pies at players that are in a different Alliance
  • The Upper Crust – Throw a pie at each of the Alliance Leaders
  • More Than You Can Chew – Throw 10 Pies at Guards
  • Dessert Domination – Complete the above Achievements
  • Messy Business – Kill 10 players while they are covered in pie in Cyrodiil
With these Achievements come special rewards. By completing the Messy Business and The Upper Crust Achievements, you’ll earn the “Empieror” and “Tin Soldier” titles respectively. Finally, by acquiring Dessert Domination, you’ll receive the Obnoxious Mute Face Paint collectible!

The Achievements from previous events will still be available this year for everybody, too, including the Lord or Lady of Misrule Achievement, rewarding you with a title and hat, and the Royal Jester Achievement, rewarding you with a title and unlocking the ability to acquire unique furnishings. Check your in-game Journal for everything.

Snag and Spend Event Tickets
As you take part in the Jester’s Festival, you’ll earn two Event Tickets the first time you complete a Jester’s daily quest each day, with a total of 24 tickets available to be earned by the event’s end.

During the event, you can buy Indrik Feathers, Dawnwood Berries of Bloom, Dawnwood Berries of Budding, Dawnwood Berries of Growth, and the new Dawnwood Berries of Ripeness from the Impresario merchant. This is the final berry you’ll need to evolve your existing Nascent Indrik into the Dawnwood Indrik! To summon your new, fancy Indrik, simply have all four berries in your inventory and use one of them.

The even-more majestic Dawnwood Indrik

When spending Event Tickets, please double-check the name of the berries you’re about to purchase. You need only one of each to evolve your Indrik. Please also note that this is your last chance to acquire all the berries required to make this specific evolution. Once this event ends, the Impresario will no longer stock these berries – don’t miss out!

If you’ve earned more than enough Event Tickets this quarter, you can also acquire the Springtide Indrik pet for 10 Event Tickets – the first pet Indrik available in game! In addition, you can acquire any of Cadwell’s Kitchen Arms Style pages for five Event Tickets each, giving you an alternate way to earn them other than the Stupendous Boxes (or simply snatch up any you are missing). You’ll find both of these new types of items for sale from the Impresario.

New Crown Store Items
With the Jester’s Festival event, we’re bringing back a host of fan-favorite items including the Madcap Jester Monkey and Jester Personality in addition to adding new items such as the Pebble Pal (yes, it’s a pet rock), Cadwell’s Kitchen Style pack, and a selection of novelty stick mounts.

The Novelty Stick Horse mount & Pebble Pal Pet

Additionally, during this event, we’re adding Event Tickets to the in-game Crown Store. You can find them in the Events category. Check out this month’s Crown Store Showcase for more information on when all of these fantastic items will be available.

Wrathstone DLC Game Pack
The Wrathstone DLC Game Pack introduces two challenging, brand-new dungeons that take your team through Tamriel’s hidden ruins to collect both halves of the mysterious Wrathstone tablet. This DLC also kicks off the year-long Season of the Dragon storyline that continues with the upcoming Elsweyr Chapter, arriving this June, and runs throughout 2019.

Frostvault

In Frostvault, you must work with the Redguard treasure hunter Tharayya to explore a lost Dwarven vault, embedded deep within Eastmarch’s frozen glaciers. Standing in your way is a menacing Goblin tribe, ageless Dwarven automatons, and deadly traps. You need to make use of long-deactivated machines to break into the vault and claim its secrets for yourself.

Depths of Malatar

What dangers lurk within the Depths of Malatar? Venture deep into this lost Ayleid ruin and discover the fate of an Imperial cohort that first discovered its entrance centuries ago. However, more than soldiers await you deep within the sunken city of Garlas Malatar, as shining Daedric guardians protect the ancient relics within!

Explore the sunken ruins of Malatar

Both dungeons are available in Normal and Veteran difficulties, with a Veteran Hard Mode option if you truly wish to challenge your team. Should you complete these dungeons, in addition to claiming both halves of the Wrathstone tablet, you can earn powerful armor sets, Monster Masks, and unique collectibles, including a new skin and pet.

For more, check out our in-depth previews of both Depths of Malatar and Frostvault.

Enter a Wrathstone Dungeon & Receive a Free Hat
After you gain access to the Wrathstone dungeons, you can explore both Frostvault and Depths of Malatar by the following methods:
  • By teleporting directly into the two dungeons from your map
  • By using the Dungeon Finder tool
  • By walking up to the dungeon entrances in both the Gold Coast (Depths of Malatar) and Eastmarch (Frostvault)
Upon entering one of the two new dungeons, you receive an Ayleid Royal Crown hat, completely free.

This courtly crest is perfect for the ancient aristocrat within you!

New Battleground and PvP Rewards
The Update 21 base-game patch (free for all ESO players) brings a new Battleground to conquer and new rewards for PvP activities. For starters, the Battlegrounds map Eld Angvar pits you against your fellow players in a mysterious Ayleid world between worlds. This arena puts you into the fight quickly by using a series of portals, and it has two unique variants depending on the game mode.

Battle in the void

In addition to the Battlegrounds map, Update 21 also provides additional PvP rewards, including a unique pet for those who fight for control of Cyrodiil and colorful, team-based weapon Outfit styles for Battlegrounds brawlers.

Find out more about the new Battleground and PvP rewards in our preview article.

Zone Guide and Guild Trader UI Update
Update 21 also introduces some big changes and quality-of-life improvements for Tamriel’s explorers and traders. The Zone Guide tool helps you track your progress in any of Tamriel’s zones, including Zone Story Quests completed, Wayshrines unlocked, Points of Interest visited, and much more. It can even help you find almost everything in a zone via quest markers. This tool is perfect if you need help completing a zone or simply want to find something interesting to do.

If you have coin, you can find wares

If you enjoy trading goods with your fellow players in ESO, Update 21’s Guild Trader UI improvement dramatically overhauls how you find and purchase items. The biggest addition is the ability to search a Guild Trader for specific items rather than having to navigate through multiple menus, and it allows you to effortlessly find the items or materials you wish to acquire. In addition to this, we’ve also revamped the Guild Trader categories, making for a much smoother trading experience.

You can read more about these Update 21 base-game changes in our preview article.

Your Adventure Begins Now
With the Wrathstone DLC game pack, your epic, year-long Season of the Dragon storyline begins now. Starting today, you can enter these two challenging new dungeons and claim both halves of the powerful and mysterious Wrathstone, but be warned: what you uncover could have consequences for all of Tamriel! The Season of the Dragon starts here! Preview the exciting new dungeons arriving with the Wrathstone DLC pack and learn about the big base-game changes coming as part of Update 21.

The Wrathstone DLC game pack is coming soon, and it will be available free to all ESO Plus members and for purchase for Crowns from the in-game Crown Store. This new DLC dungeon pack sends you and your team deep into Tamriel’s hidden past with two brand-new dungeons: Depths of Malatar and Frostvault.

Update 21 arrives alongside the new dungeon pack and brings a series of improvements and new features free for all players, including a new Battlegrounds map and PvP rewards, Passive Ability changes, a Guild Trader update, and much more!

Uncover the Wrathstone
As revealed in our Elsweyr cinematic trailer, the Imperial Chancellor Abnur Tharn, using the Wrathstone tablet, has opened the Halls of Colossus and unleashed a horde of merciless Dragons upon Elsweyr and beyond. But how did he get his hands on both halves of the powerful relic? These two new dungeons tell the first part of the Season of the Dragon story and show how you and the famous Redguard scholar Tharayya (returning for both dungeons!) discover these long-hidden relics.

The entrance to the Frostvault has been uncovered, and this previously lost Dwarven vault is open for explorers and treasure hunters alike. While your reasons for venturing deep into this frozen dungeon might differ from Tharayya’s, you must both contend with a local Goblin tribe that has made the ruins their home. Be warned, it’s still a Dwarven complex, and dangerous automatons and deadly traps await those who manage to delve into the heart of this ancient facility.

Beware the guardians of Malatar

What secrets lie within the sunken Depths of Malatar? In this dungeon, you, the ever-inquisitive Tharayya, and the spirit of her lost husband must venture into a secret Imperial fort and discover the ancient Ayleid ruin beneath it. You and your team, however, are not the first to try to uncover the secrets of Malatar. A Lost Imperial legion and shining Daedric agents stand between you and an ancient power that brought ruin upon its original inhabitants.

Both Frostvault and Depths of Malatar can be completed in Normal, Veteran, and Veteran Hard Mode difficulties, and should you complete these 4-player challenges, you’ll be rewarded with powerful new item sets and unique collectibles, including a new skin and a non-combat pet! Finally, simply by entering either of these two new dungeons, you’ll earn the Ayleid Royal Crown hat.

Fit for a king!

New Battlegrounds & PvP Rewards
Update 21 also brings a host of changes to ESO’s PvP as part of its base-game update. Most notably, this includes an incredible new battleground: Eld Angvar. This new arena is located somewhere in a place between worlds, so be sure to watch your feet as you move between the map’s platforms!

Fight in a world outside of Tamriel

This update also introduces new PvP rewards, including the Elinhir Arena Lion pet (earned with Arena Gladiator’s Proofs) and weapon Outfit Styles that resemble the three Battlegrounds teams: Pit Daemons, Stormlords, and Firedrakes.

Base Game Additions & Improvements
In order to help you find and complete more of ESO’s zone content, Update 21 introduces the new Zone Guide system. This new tool can be accessed from your Group & Activity Finder or map, and it allows you to see your progress in any of Tamriel’s zones or beyond, tracking activities such as Zone Story Quests, Wayshrines, Delves, Striking Locals, Skyshards, and much more. You can even use this new tool to give you a quest marker to your next objective in order, starting with the zone’s quests. With this new system, everybody that enters Tamriel can easily find their next adventure or help them finally 100% complete a zone.

Update 21 will also introduce improvements to the Guild Trader UI, giving you the ability to search for specific item names, see an item’s price per unit, and view your previous searches. We’ve also overhauled the UI in general and reworded item categories to better reflect what people are looking for, making the overall experience much more user-friendly. Finally, this update also introduces a host of changes to Racial Passive Abilities. These Abilities have been updated to allow more playstyles to benefit from the bonuses they provide, as well as ensuring each Race has a unique gameplay advantage. For more information, you can read about the Combat Team’s changes to Racial Passives on the forums.

There are tons more updates, fixes, and additions coming with Update 21, and both the update and Wrathstone are available on PTS (PC/Mac only) right now, so why not log in and test it all out for yourself?

Begin the Season of the Dragon
With the exciting new Wrathstone dungeon pack and a host of new additions and quality-of-life gameplay improvements coming in Update 21, the year-long Season of the Dragon begins to take flight. Are you ready to brave the dungeons of Frostvault and Depths of Malatar and acquire both parts of the Wrathstone? The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr
The Dragons have returned to Tamriel. Unleashed upon the world by the unwitting Abnur Tharn and the Imperial usurper queen Euraxia, the great Kaalgrontiid and his followers hunt from the skies and threaten to burn down the ancestral home of the Khajiit.

Elsweyr is packed with new stories, adventures, and challenges, including:
  • A whole new zone to explore: Elsweyr
  • An epic main story quest line that ties into the Season of the Dragon
  • A powerful new Class: Necromancer
  • A challenging new 12-player Trial: Sunspire
  • Massive new world events: Dragon Attacks
  • A huge amount of unique delves, public dungeons, and stand-alone quests
  • A host of updates and quality-of-life improvements

Explore the stunning (and dangerous) land of Elsweyr

Previously, you have been able to explore the province of Elsweyr in The Elder Scrolls: Arena and its outer edges in ESO’s regions of Reaper’s March and Khenarthi’s Roost, but in this new adventure, you can fully experience the home of Tamriel’s beloved cat people. In Elsweyr, you can traverse both fertile grasslands and scorching deserts, interact with moon-sugar farmers and wandering nomads, or confront merciless Imperial occupiers and roaming bandits. In this new Chapter, you can truly dive into the life, history, culture, and mythology of the Khajiit and their homeland.

Of course, in addition to exploring this new zone, you’ll also be called upon to defend the Khajiiti people against a devastating new threat: Dragons. However, in this Chapter you’re no Dragonborn, and you’ll need to work with your fellow players and powerful allies in order to take these winged beasts down.

Command the undead with the Necromancer Class

Finally, Elsweyr also introduces the highly anticipated Necromancer Class to ESO. With this dark, mysterious new Class, you will be able to command the dead and cast powerful elemental spells to overcome your foes and bolster your defenses. With the Necromancer, death itself is a weapon!

  • Complete the quest to receive your Scroll of Pelinal's Ferocity and a Pelinal's Midyear Boon Box
  • Use the scroll to activate a two-hour, 100% buff in the Alliance War, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds to:
    • Alliance Points gained
    • XP gains for PvP player kills

As always, you can keep the Scroll of Pelinal’s Ferocity and re-use it throughout the event. If you’ve lost your scroll, don’t worry, you can acquire another from Predicant Maera for 100 gold or 100 Alliance Points.

This includes Indomitable Fury, Spell Strategist, Battlefield Acrobat, Soldier of Anguish, Steadfast Hero, and Battalion Defender sets.

Claim Event Tickets
Throughout Midyear Mayhem you can also earn Event Tickets and purchase the first of the Indrik Berries required to evolve your Nascent Indrik mount into a Dawnwood Indrik mount. This event’s berries are called Dawnwood Berries of Bloom.

Once you have acquired 10 Event Tickets, you can trade them in to the Impresario (located at a special booth in Daggerfall in Glenumbra, Davon's Watch in Stonefalls, and Vulkhel Guard in Auridon) for either an Indrik Feather or the new Dawnwood Berries of Bloom.
