Unturned - Nelson Sexton

Additions:
  • Added maplestrike. (ID 363)

  • Added tank and helicopter models.
  • Added current server info in the escape menu.
Improvements:
  • Improved gold member UI skin. (Will be tweaked some more, free members will get the white version soon.)
  • Improved flatgrass lighting even more thanks to some tips from Tomas, it now feels far more cinematic!
Tweaks:
  • Modified the way new information is sent on servers, we'll see if this makes it better or worse.
  • Increased minimum vehicle crash speed.
The new UI skin for gold members is just the first step in improving it, going forward bit by bit each section will be redesigned to flow nicer with better icons and a smoother experience in mind.

Note: The network tweak may kill servers, if so I'll patch it tomorrow.

Improvements:
  • Improved flatgrass lighting a little bit more, this will probably be swapped over to the Canada map soon.
Tweaks:
  • Decreased accuracy of crafted bows when aiming.
  • Accuracy of bow is related to quality of wood.
  • Disabled hip fire with bows.
  • Decreased boost cost until skills are balanced.
  • Moved the tactical position on the crossbow so that it doesn't shine through itself.
Fixes:
  • Fixed window/door snap points in the mall.
  • Fixed shooting arrows in the air not removing them from ammo.
  • Fixed crosshair showing when taking sights off guns.
  • Fixed bows to use the aim spread value for crosshair size when aiming.
The next update will have some new military content to spruce things up!

Fixes:
  • Fixed roof detection radius when placing near edge.
  • Fixed inventory closing not running on server with an item equipped.
  • Fixed crafting rails into rails.
Be careful with those new item IDs, there are some gaps for the crossbow and bow components and if you spawn those in you probably can't drop them. Regarding your response to yesterday's Canada map discussion it sounds like some changes are in order! Those will begin soon.

I believe I have figured out what is still bugging me about the Canada map, and that's the fact that I think it's not designed with fun in mind enough. The PEI map was built with barely any regard for the actual location aside from visuals and location names, however the Canada map tries to follow an accurate-ish layout without many exciting unrealistic locations. What do you think, do you agree or disagree? Should the Canada map be reworked a bit to have better flow, more military locations, etc?

Improvements:
  • Improved item physics to only have a large radius when dropped from inventory or death, not plants etc.
  • Improved roof, stair and ramp placement to not be blocked by ramps above them.
  • Improved wall placement to not be blocked by interior furniture, stairs or ramps.
  • Improved ladder placement to align more closely to walls and rotate with the normal.
  • Improved barricade and structure networking to support more building.
Tweaks:
  • Increased player related syncing rate to see what happens. (Most likely will revert, we'll see how well it goes.)
  • Removed radius and offset from structures.
Fixes:
  • Fixed storage state delegate not getting called in the right order when removing an item which allowed a duplication exploit.
  • Fixed crafting when storage is open.
  • Fixed some very rare serverside structure related crashes.
  • Fixed building barricades on the walls of structures.
  • Fixed some of diving, exercise and cardio skills mixed up.
What would you like to see through the rest of the month? The next few days I'll be bringing in some of the unique items from 2.0 like nightvision, binoculars, etc but beyond that nothing's specifically planned!
