You’ll find a couple different types of Crystal Caches available in Trove – Geode and we wanted to share some info on the differences between the two and why you should care about them.

Lesser Crystal Caches are earned by playing on the planet called Geode. Explore the caves beneath the surface and offer aid to the critters who need your help. These chests are granted directly to your inventory by the critters.

Opening Lesser Crystal Caches will commonly grant Crystals which are highly valuable resources used in all manner of Geodian crafting. The rare loot contained in these caches include Drillbits (for use in Crystallogy), Bronze Companion Eggs that can be hatched into Companions to aid you on your spelunking adventures, and Crystal Pinatas that you can use to throw piñata parties with friends or strangers alike!

These caches are chockfull of a wide assortment of goodies. Greater Crystal Caches are found on the Trove Store and help support future development of Trove – Geode and beyond.

The most common drops in these caches include resources needed in all manner of crafting; Crystals, Day Drops, Gleamstone, Builderite, and more!

Uncommon drops include Sun Sap, Cave Kelp, Moonstone, Blazine, Accelerite, Lodestars, and more.

Rare Greater Crystal Cache drops include bigger batches of Metamatter, Accelerite, and Lodestar. They can also drop Silver Companion Eggs, Space Expanders, or epic mounts.

We’ve been scouring two planets to find Luxion, but to no avail. You’d think that this is a video game and we created Luxion so we should know where to find him, but come on now…let’s just roll with it. Luxion is missing!

1. Create a Twitch Account
Sign up for a Twitch account or login to your existing Twitch account.

2. Link Your Trove and Twitch Accounts
Link your accounts here. If you play Trove on PlayStation® 4 or Xbox One, you will need to first link your console and Trove accounts by following these steps. If you do not link your account before watching the stream, you cannot get the free mount.

3. Watch Our Livestream for 15+ Minutes
Watch our Trove – Geode live on Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/trionworlds) on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM PDT for at least 15 minutes. You must have previously linked your Trove and Twitch accounts and be logged-in while watching. Note that watching from the Twitch mobile app will not count for the Twitch Drop. You must be watching from the Desktop client or the website.

4. Enjoy Your New Mount!
After the stream, Twitch will notify you that you’ve won. Your free Magic Trove Carpet mount will be available on your account within 24 hours. Mount up and take a Magic Carpet ride! Note that if you were watching the stream from the Twitch Desktop client, you will not get notified that you won, but the item will still be in your Trove account the next time that you log in.

We're doing a quick restart of all Trove environments at 10:30 PM PDT (5:30 AM UTC). For some context to this latest restart, keep reading.

On Tuesday this week we did a standard bit of maintenance and to roll out necessary updates to our back end systems and server hardware. Unfortunately, the latest version of the operating system contained a network driver with a couple bugs.

Reverting to the previous version of the OS took more time than expected and we ended up having to come offline a couple more times following the original maintenance to get things straightened out.

While we'll continue to perform regular maintenance and will always roll out the latest OS updates to make sure we have the latest security measures in place, we also recognize that the last couple days weren't a great gaming experience.

So, as a thank you for your patience as we worked to straighten out these unexpected issues, we'll be granting some goodies for those of you impacted.

If you tried to play the game between 12:01AM PDT on July 23 through 11:59PM on July 25 you will receive:

• 3 Bronze Companion Eggs
  
• 2 Lustrous Gem Boxes

These items will start going on out July 26 but may take a couple days to hit everyone, so please bear with us.

For today's final restart, please allow up to an hour for us to come back online. As this is expected to be just a restart we're hoping to be up and running in under 30 minutes.

Hey everyone,

Trove will come offline at 8AM PDT (3PM UTC) on July 24 for scheduled maintenance. This is all work on the back end, such as Windows Updates and a server hotfix to resolve a very rare lobby crash, so there is no patch with this downtime.

As each platform finishes we'll bring it online, but downtime may last up to 3 hours (we're bummed by the possibility of a long downtime as well, but Windows Updates are vital for security and stability, so please bear with us).

Additional Updates

• The Sunfest Golden Thread for Bomber Royale will now count upgraded Rubber Bombs.
  
• (Xbox and PS4 only) Stacked items can once again freely transfer to and from personal chests.
  
• The +50% Adventurine Potion recipe has been returned to Luminopolis Outposts.
  
• Boost Blocks in Bomber Royale can now be destroyed with bombs.
  
• The Bomb Jump powerup for Bomber Royale now displays the correct icon.
  
• Fixed an issue where the Bomber Royale game over window sometimes wouldn't display the winner dancing.
  
• Added a Compass to the Geode Caves so you can tell which paths other players before you took.
  
• Fixed an issue where players could not gain Lustrous Gem Boxes on a day they turned on Patron.

• Moonlit Moss will once again grow in T4 of the Verdant Veins.

8 new adventures will take you on a journey across Trove and beyond! That’s right, you’ll be able to complete several of the celebratory adventures on either Trove or Geode. Complete them all and earn your very own Golden Vale Dragon Pup ally.



Greater Dragon Cache
Did someone say dragons? Save 50% on Greater Dragon Caches all this week! You’ll definitely want to load up because Luxion returns to the Trove Hub from July 14 until July 17.



In honor of Sunfest, Pinates the Purveyor is also back in the Trove Hub to sell his wares! If you don’t already have them you can pick up the Pinatataur, Hyped-Up Pinata mount, or a Dormant Worldspring Dragon Egg. He happily accepts Pinata Coins whether earned this year or during previous Sunfests.

Shadow Pinata Invaders* can be found in all Trove biomes during the event. They have a chance to drop Party Animal pinatas, Pinata Coins, and the new Golden Ticket Chest 2018. This year’s Golden Ticket Chests rarely contain Dormant Golden Vale Dragon Egg Fragments, a Silver Companion Egg for use on Geode, and very rarely the Hyper Pinata Ex mount or a Golden Companion Egg.



Plus, throughout the two week-long celebration you’ll get daily login rewards and a free Golden Ticket Chest every day you login!

The cherry on top of this sumptuous solar sundae is the return of the Second Stat Reroll event this week only. Forge your epic loot to find the perfect stats for all your adventuring needs.

*The Shadow Pinata Invaders do not appear as actual invasions this year and are only in the open world population of Trove biomes.

Luxion of the Golden Hoard is a gorgeous dragon who returns to the Hub twice a month to trade goods for Dragon Coins. You'll find Luxion near the Dragon Crucible starting on July 14. Luxion's wares have been tweaked to bring about an infusion of awesomeness. He will vanish at 4AM PDT (11AM GMT) on July 17, so don't wait!

Some of the items Luxion is offering up on this visit are:

• Overlord Omniseat mount
• Armored Archaeoceratops mount

Luxion's loot is a way for players who missed limited time items in the past to pick them up directly. You'll also find brand new items at a higher Dragon Coin price periodically. Items will repeat eventually, but it may take a while for a specific piece of loot to return so be sure to check back on every visit!
