Trove – Geode is a seismic shift in gameplay that gives you new ways to experience our voxelated multiverse. Your mission on this long-hidden world is to gather up resources, upgrade advanced Geodian tech, and prepare for the inevitable battle ahead.
Spelunking The forces of shadow have overwhelmed the peaceful Geodians who now find themselves hidden away in their last refuge on Geode. With the spread of evil across the surface of the world it’s time to dig deep, literally.
A major element of Geode at launch will be cave exploration. This is a very different world with its own rules to follow and a harsh environment that Trovians have trouble enduring. The denizens of Geode provide their visitors with the tools to survive the harsh elements – modules.
Modules These are uniquely Geodian items with specialized abilities that help you survive in the incredible underground pressure of the caves. As you explore and gather resources you’ll be able to upgrade your modules to make yourself more powerful than ever.
These upgrades are vital to surviving the deepest caverns on Geode and reaping the most powerful resources we’ve ever seen.
Geodian Acclimation System (GAS) – Allows Trovians to survive in the caves of Geode as they explore this newly discovered world. Can be upgraded to enable exploring the deepest caves in pursuit of the greatest rewards.
N-Charge – An upgradable battery pack that powers Geodian tech.
Omni-Tool – A powerful area of effect (AoE) tool that can be used to mine resources on Geode. Aim the omni-tool at the corners of resources to mine multiple blocks simultaneously.
Climbing Claw – A grappling hook used to traverse hard to reach areas of Geodian caves.
Rocket Boots – Jetpacks for your feet! Allows you to fly around the caves and gather hard to reach resources.
Barrier Generator blocks incoming projectiles from turrets, as well as buffing your movement speed
Thumper reveals hidden ore and crystals
Pathpainter - Place blocks that increase movement speed and jump for you and other players that walk over them. Great for teamwork and helpful to mark areas of caves already explored!
Companions Geode is home to a vast array of life forms that are new to Troviankind.
Discover them on your travels and raise them to be your trusted allies in the fight against the forces of shadow.
Critters As you travel the caves of Geode collecting resources you’ll also run into adorable little critters that may need your help. If you’re approached by a hungry creature you’ll want to feed it, if the critter is cold you’ll warm it up by providing it with a blanket, and if it’s sick you’ll want to take the time to heal it.
If you happen upon a critter that is already in a good mood you may want to take some time to play with it to unlock rewards. How does one play with a happy critter you ask? Well, that’s a story for another day.
Keep an eye out for future blogs as we do a deeper dive into the all-new systems coming with Trove – Geode!
Luxion of the Golden Hoard is a gorgeous dragon who returns to the Hub twice a month to trade goods for Dragon Coins. You'll find Luxion near the Dragon Crucible starting on June 1. Luxion will vanish at 4AM PDT (11AM GMT) on June 4, so don't delay!
Just a couple of the items Luxion is offering up on this next visit are:
Jiggling Jelled Sauce mount
Techno Tortoise mount
Luxion's loot is a way for players who missed limited time items in the past to pick them up directly. You'll also find brand new items at a higher Dragon Coin price periodically. Items will repeat eventually, but it may take a while for a specific piece of loot to return so be sure to check back on every visit!
Luxion's visits will generally arrive just before a weekend in the start and middle of each month, disappearing at 4AM PDT (11AM GMT) on Sunday.
This week Trovians have the rare opportunity to reroll your second stat on any face, hat, or weapon. Login anytime through June 4th and use the Chaos Forge to get the most out of your gear!
How does it work?
Go to the Chaos Forge in your Cornerstone of Club World.
Select the weapon, face, or hat you want to modify.
Select Randomize to cycle through stats until you find the ones that work best for you.
For items with two or three stats you'll be able to modify the second and third. However, if your item has four stats you can modify the second, third, and fourth!
This bonus doesn't come around often so don't let the opportunity to get your dream stats pass you by!
We're bringing Trove offline on Tuesday at 7AM PDT (2PM UTC) for maintenance. No patch with this maintenance, but it will include Windows updates which means the downtime may take up to 3 hours.
As each platform is finished we'll bring them back online.
Our next free expansion is worlds apart from anything you’ve ever experienced in Trove. Heed the call to interplanetary adventure and blast off to Trove – Geode on June 26, 2018!
Travel to a newly discovered world called Geode. This formerly pristine planet is under siege by the invading forces of Q‘bthulhu’s shadow army. They seek to lay claim to Geode's rich resources.
On Geode you’ll face all-new challenges adapting to this alien world and its peace-loving denizens. With their power unchecked, Q‘bthulhu's forces have turned the vast majority of Geode into a deadly wasteland.
You’ll need to craft and upgrade Geodian technology to protect against the elements as you explore the vast cavernous underground of the planet, gathering untapped resources in preparation for the war that’s on the horizon.
To respect the peaceful Geodian customs you’ll need to put all new skills to the test as you work to do something no Trovian has done before – handle your business non-violently.
In addition to a whole new world of possibilities, Trove – Geode also marks the addition of Trove Bomber Royale mode! This very Trovey take on the battle royale genre is another major step forward in Trove’s evolution.
Want to help us test out this new evolution of Trove? The PTS is slated to open up on Friday, May 18th!
Take one giant leap for Troviankind this summer with the ultimate game changer: Trove – Geode!
We're bringing Trove offline at 8AM PDT (3PM UTC) on May 15, 2018 for the May Update. Get the patch notes below.
Downtime may last up to 4 hours but we'll bring each version of the game back online as they become available.
Thanks

We’re beyond excited to share the new competitive multiplayer mode coming to Trove this summer: Trove Bomber Royale!
What’s Trove Bomber Royale mode? We’re glad you asked! Trove Bomber Royale is a frenetic new competitive combat mode coming to Trove in our next big expansion later this summer. Your mission? To be the last Trovian standing.
Up to 20 Trovians can hop into a Bomber Royale match but once 15 players join up the countdown begins to kick off the match. You’ll find yourself on a glass platform where you can position yourself on the map in whatever way suits your play style.
Once the start timer runs out the platform begins to quickly disintegrate allowing players to fall down onto the arena map below.
How’s it different from the Battle Arena? Another great question! Bomber Royale achieves a completely balanced competitive environment by giving all Trovians the same two core abilities: Rubber Bombs and Climbing Claw.
Rubber Bombs are thrown explosives that bounce off the first surface they hit and explode on the second surface.
Climbing Claw is a grappling hook that sticks into the terrain and pulls you to the point of contact. This is great for saving yourself from falling off the arena map, escaping incoming attacks, or getting up close and personal with other players who look like they could use a bouncing bomb to the kidneys.
What else can we look forward to in Bomber Royale? Bomber Royale maps come littered with power ups. Run through a power up block on the map to claim that powerup as your own. These power ups can reduce the cooldown of your attacks, empower your other attacks with devastating modifications, and much more!
We have to warn you that the Bomber Royale maps are completely destructible and literally everyone has an unlimited collection of bombs. If that’s not scary enough, the map will disintegrate over time so players are going to struggle to find sure footing by the time the match is down to the last few players.
After you’re victorious, or if you’re somehow defeated, you can queue up for the next match or jump back into the Hub. If you’re new to Trove, or just looking to level up a new class, Trove Bomber Royale gives XP so you can level up while kicking cubic butt!
In addition to the sweet, sweet XP you can also look forward to an all-new reward system for Trove Bomber Royale. More news on that to come down the road.
You’ll be able to test Trove Bomber Royale mode very soon and we’re excited to hearing your feedback. Look forward to more power ups and new maps being added in the future!
Trove Bomber Royale mode will launch with our big summer expansion, but it’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @TroveGame to stay up to date on all the latest news coming in the weeks ahead.
