Fixing up and polishing of the car and engine designer in UE4 is going well and we now have a release date for the opt-in open beta of this "New Automation". We're aiming for Friday the 26th of May.

Have a look at the Little Dev Update Video to see what has changed since the last news update and what is going on in development in general.

Plenty of useful improvements are coming to the game, which would not have been possible with the old Kee Engine, the UI overhaul to bring it to more modern standards is shaping up to be great.

Cheers!

We've found and fixed the stability issues we had with the UE4 port. They were due to some memory handling conflict between lua and Windows on Windows 7. With that handbrake loosened, it is all about further improvments of the UI functionality as well as polishing up the designers as a whole.

In today's Little Dev Update we take a look at the current state of development by building a car from start to finish in the dev version, and comment on UI and feature changes as they come along.

With most of the recent big issues resolved, progress has been really good over the past week and we're back on track.

In today's Little Dev Update we take a look at how we're progressing with making fixtures work, the addition of another photo scene, V10s and new engine sounds, as well as dynamic turbo piping being all fancy!

This has been a rough ~3 weeks for us, as we were struggling with the porting of car chassis, body, and fixture functionalities over to UE4. Finally we've arrived at a version that runs again outside of the office and we want to tell and show you what is and has been happening in development.

With the delays at hand we've decided to not let you wait until we've fully implemented the Lite Campaign mode into the UE4 version, but instead aim to release a polished-up version of the Sandbox Mode along with the scenarios earlier. That will most likely happen via a launcher in which you can choose which version you want to play, such that you can continue your campaign gameplay on the one hand, and build pretty cars on the other!

In the latest Little Dev Update we show you what's going on in development, what new things have been worked on and more, check it out:

We're now fixing the last fixture issues (sounds like a bad pun) and then will proceed to polish up the car designer. The next Little Dev Update won't take so long.

Cheers!

We're currently focusing our efforts on getting the car designer fully hooked up in the Unreal Engine 4 version of Automation. Going pretty well with that although we are behind schedule.

In this Little Dev Update we take a closer look at what new things will make it into the UE4 version. New paints, a different UI system for handling cooling, and all kinds of little changes and improvements. Best take a look at the video to see for yourself! :)

Of course you need to keep in mind that nothing you see there really is considered finished. Plenty more to do, but all the fundamentals of the car designer are now in place.
