If you can't wait to get your hands on the editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we have some great news for you! Starting today you can sign up to try it out yourself in the official Playtest on Steam.
The Witcher 3 REDkit is a comprehensive modding tool for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt we're currently developing. It is based on the same set of tools that were used by our developers to create the game and should allow for nearly limitless freedom in modding it. REDkit will be available free of charge for all owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC and it's scheduled to release later this year.
In order to sign up, simply navigate to the store page of The Witcher 3 REDkit on Steam and request access: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2684660/The_Witcher_3_REDkit/ Playtest access will be distributed in batches. After receiving access "The Witcher 3 REDkit Playtest" will appear in your Steam Library. Remember that the editor will require The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game files in order to work properly, so make sure you have it installed too!
We hope that you'll have a great time testing and everything will be going smoothly for you, but please keep in mind that you'll be running a beta version of the tool and might encounter some issues. Should you run into something serious trouble, you can report it to us using a dedicated form on our Tech Support website: http://thewitcher.ly/REDkit_report
Once you get the chance to try the tool out, we invite you to share your feedback with us — you’ll find a built-in button in REDkit taking you to a survey, but you can also share your thoughts on:
But wait... That's not everything you can help us test!
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Steam Workshop Beta
Alongside the modding tools we're also working on enabling the Steam Workshop for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You can help us check the update by participating in the dedicated Beta.
WARNING: Before participating, make sure to back up your saves! Steam Workshop Beta testing and The Witcher 3 REDkit Playtest are related to each other, but completely separate. You don't need to participate in both and you can try out the Beta without signing up for Playtest, just as well as you can run Playtest while not participating in Beta.
Once you're a part of it, all you need to do is find The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in your Steam Library, go to Properties > Betas and select "workshop_test" from the drop-down list. Once this is done, the game should update automatically.

We’re thrilled to announce that we're working on a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!
This editor is a reworked version of the REDengine 3 editor that we used to create the game — it will allow you to create your own experiences in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by making something completely new or editing existing quests and content.
The editor will be available for free for all owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC. We're planning to make it happen in 2024.

Grass collision now works properly.
Added an HDR calibration option.

Please note: these are only the most notable changes and additions to the game. The patch contains other fixes that didn't make it into this list.
Patch 4.03 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available! This update contains various gameplay and quest fixes.
Below, you'll find a list of the most notable changes.
PC-SPECIFIC
Fixed an issue with ray-traced vegetation shadows “popping”, depending on Geralt’s proximity and angle.
Fixed an issue where repeatedly disabling and enabling ray-traced reflections and shadows could cause black shadows to appear at the edge of objects.
Addressed the issue where the DirectX 11 version of the game could crash on launch or after loading a save on certain AMD GPUs.
Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling, an upscaling technology that uses machine learning to improve performance and image quality.
Fixed some lighting issues with Screen Space Reflections when ray-traced global illumination is off.
Performance improvements to ray-traced global illumination and ray-traced reflections.

QUESTS & GAMEPLAY
Added the community-made mod Next Gen Script Fixes by Sergeanur.
QUESTS & GAMEPLAY
In the Eternal Fire's Shadow - The ambient music from the quest will no longer continue playing after completion. For players who have already experienced this issue, it may be necessary to enter the Novigrad or Oxenfurt sewers again to resolve it.
Added an option to auto-apply oils in combat.
With the exception of potions and decoctions, it's now impossible for Geralt to eat or drink underwater. // While the team agreed it might be possible to drink liquids from a corked flask, consuming pints of ale or grilled meats underwater is too much of a stretch.
Please note: these are only the most notable changes. The patch contains other minor fixes that didn't make it into this list.
A hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out. It improves the stability of the game running on the GeForce RTX 40 Series Graphics Cards related to DLSS 3. The game version won’t change.
